I use Tru Link to adjust my hearing as it changes while moving around in different environments. in noisy restaurants I'll turn them up so I can hear conversations. i can also turn them down when it's not necessary to have them cranked up to hear. The Tinnitus feature has helped the ringing in my ears and frankly having complete control over my hearing aids is optimal! I love my Starkey A 4s and Tru Link just makes them that much better!
Update 12/2019: the Beta and the regular app are now completely worthless to me. The beta will connect to my right hearing aid, but not the left, and vice versa on the regular app. Phone pairs with hearing aids just fine, and maintains connection. It's the apps. The app won't connect to my hearing aids most of the time. I can't use my tinitus feature because I can only turn it on from the app. Starkey isn't working on the Android app, and I don't use Apple products. No more Starkey for me.
As long as it works its good. Truelink works for my samsung s10. Did have other apps. Truelink Beta & another app but I can't think of at the moment. Had an iPhone & truelink & it worked pretty good but not perfect by no means when batteries on hearing aid were 75% spent it would not always switch to car mode when. Decided To try samsung phone because of cost, and have had better luck with halo 2 in my ears. Also I see Tinnitus on app but not active. How I get activation?
Tru Link works most of the time, sometimes have to open it twice. Very disappointed in the fact that after 4 years and repeated calls to Starkey and being assured that Android would be supported with streaming ect, they still haven't done it. I will look at another brand when the time comes to replace.
I have used these hearing aids for 8 years. Excellent sound quality. I love the ability to set up custom settings. I have several; one for football, one for restaurants, and one for my hobby, bird watching. 😁
Very poor app Have to keep uninstalling it and reinstalling it every other week. You rhink by now they would cone up with something better for Android. My friend has apple and has no problems?? Very unsatisfied with this app. Almost a year later and no better! You would think for what Hearing aids cost the app would have been updated by now! Very disappointed
it has been very helpful to be able to go between programs on my phone, the only fault I have is that occasionally my aides seem to shut off on the phone app.... hopefully the streaming will continue too improve. i love my Android and anxiously wait to be able to use my aides the same way iPhone users can use their aides with the iPhone.....
i am using Moto G5+. Using hearing aid for both ears. The app D poses extreme difficult to connect. Once connected it takes time to change the set programme. There is worse. Of late, after connection with both ears the window automtically shuts down. Very frustrating.
CONSTANTLY SHUTTING ME OFF PERSONAL SETTINGS!!!!!!! I have to reset app numerous times that is causing me to loose battery loss, going through batteries like crazy!!!! Hearing aids are supposed to work with your app....when you spend almost $4000 for a product you expect it to work....not happy
Pretty good, doesn't seem to drain the battery too much. It's a shame you can't stream music on the android version as I believe this is possible for the iPhone. 5 stars once I can stream music/audio books!
They upgraded app does not work as shown in most reviews. The app that was replaced by the new app worked well I could use it to select situations I was in. I cannot even get this one to connect we really need an app that will help us and a review of the app may be appropriate. Paul
Will not initialize. Must FORCE STOP and retry. Could not get it to connect - Galaxy S7 - tried a year ago with same issue - NO ANDROID SUPPORT is apparent... It looks like the app was produced to appease the complaints of lack of Android support and it is apparent there's no ongoing support...
does not conect easily. When it is connected and stays connected the volume control works . update it is working better. needs more functionality like when the app when used on apple producs
When connected to hearing aids works well. It seems like it takes way to connect to the hearing aids. It would be helpful if the hearing aids beeped when a text came in.
The only negative is that Bluetooth does not work with Android phones. Great feature that allows customized sound of bass and treble ***** plus *
I was told by my provider that they spoke with Starkey, and that Starkey was working with Samsung to get the streaming up and running that was over a year ago. I've come to wonder that Starkey struck a deal with Apple, One of the things my provider said was "I guess you'll have to go out and buy an iPhone." no thank you!
Works fairly well, but drops out very easy. Still can't get my phone calls 😒 with the app.Did have another app a short time ago & it was garbage.Trualink is the better one yet.
I have a simple hearing aid. Just for one ear, so no need for routing music or calls. So for a basic hearing aid this app works well.
Not even clunky. Nothing works with either this App or the Starkey Thrive app. They make the excuse that Android is just too difficult. Apple is okay, but not Android. Reduces usefulness of hearing aids since no interoperability.
Could not get this app to connect to my hearing aids at all. I continually get a message that the app has stopped and I must force a stop. I'm using a Galaxy S9+.
Not as good as the iPhone app. For some reason the developers of this app don't think that android users need to or want to stream phone calls, media, and music to your hearing aids.
Useless on Samsung S10 Note. Personalization doesn't work. Seems to eat hearing aid batteries. Use to have limited success on my S7 Edge. Don't waste your time.
could do more allow better control of RANGE of sounds like an equalizer rather than just bass and treble, each can only be operated no separation of bass/treble kinda worthless there...
They work great when they stay connected. Won't hook up to the phone for Incoming calls. Inadvertently disconnect.
Disapointed. Disconnects often. Exits or ignores settings. Also, I wish you would invest in the application so that it equaled what the ap offers with apple.
I have a Google pixel 4a and now I can't use my hearing aids as they are not compatible with my new phone cell. When I called I was just told "to buy a new phone".I paid alot of money for these hearing aids and cannot afford a new phone or hearing aids!
Bluetooth does not automatically reconnect. PITA... 2 years later, nothing's changed or updated.. 9/2020..
I have the same complaints as others--no streaming, poor connectivity, etc. It's most frustrating that Starkey appears to have mostly abandoned Android users. This app hasn't been updated in almost a year. I'm considering replacing my phone with a Pixel 3, but it's not listed as one of their compatible phones, so can't tell whether or not it will work. And I really don't want an iphone. I wonder if there are other brands of hearing aids that have better support?
