The old app was much better, but even though this new one has been a bit of a downgrade up until now, somehow it's suddenly become even worse. Downloads now lock up the rest of the app functions until completed, which is unfortunate, because downloads always take two attempts to actually save to my phone, every time, no matter what. Come on guys, get it together! The quality of the preaching is the only thing that makes the hassle worth while. Otherwise I would've uninstalled it long ago.

I can appreciate wanting to update an app, but this is not better than the previous version. The user interface is much worse now. Only the pause button works on the lock screen. I have to unlock my phone every time I want to go back 30 seconds or more. When unlocked, if I pull down the notifications menu the pause menu isn't available, only tells me what I'm listening to. I have to pull the tab down a second time to see the controls. When paused, it disappears from the drop down menu so I have to go back to the app to resume playing. This app no longer contains the quick menu to return to what I had been listening to, which was one of the best features of the previous app. I now have to search through archives to continue, and it doesn't keep track where I was, just starts over. Like others, the sermons randomly stop for me, to the point where it becomes pointless to use this app. The previous TFL app was great. I would like to continue listening, but can't do so until this new app is more accessible like the previous and all the bugs are removed. Honestly, I'd prefer the old app be available to use, it was far better.

I love the teaching ministry, and the app as a whole, however, this morning I was unable to open the app. When I touch the icon, the load screen comes up, then the app stops. I have sent a report via Google (?), but I thought it may get to you faster from here. I have a Samsung Note 9, running the latest update, with Verizon as my carrier. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to no avail. Please help in resolving this issue. I really missed hearing about the Kingdom of God! soli deo gloria

Update: I downloaded the newest version and it is working as wonderfully as it did before. Thank you greatly for your help and support! I love this program and have appreciated listening to this preacher over the last few years. However since the newest app change, it won't let me listen to a sermon all the way through. I've tried several times to refresh and start over. It won't begin again no matter how many times I try to play it.

I haven't been able to listen to a full sermon yet, it randomly stops and wouldn't start again. prioritizing categories/themes rather than date order for sermons seems awful. Three sermons (pt1 or pt4 etc) listed does not counteract this imbalance sufficiently. The Christian life is not categorised, what comes up comes up just like being 'under' the preaching of one man. I don't listen to this app everyday but only when I can't get to church. This looks flashy and sleek but the old app is better.

Best preaching I've ever heard. ALWAYS informative and helpful and true to God's word. I don't know how he does it, never boring, message is always spirit filled and straightforward. I'm so thankful for his preaching.

I love all the content in this app. In Nov '18 it was crashing which I reported and they fixed it promptly but I forgot to update my review of that fix. Then I recently experience another problem and they once again fixed it promptly. The developers are excellent & do an amazing job in the design, function, & issue fixes of this app through which one can be greatly blessed.

I use this TFL app every day & night to flood my conscious & sub-conscious mind with the beauty of God's Word. I listen the Bible with headphones at night, it's amazing how the Holy Spirit brings to my concious mind His Words in daily situations. My favorite versions for my daily readings are the CSB (both Spurgeon & WorldView Study Bibles - I pause to read the notes) ESV, NKJV, & The Message. I listen & read along to the same version Genesis to Revelation. I have Dyslexia - I invert words & numbers, making understanding what I'm reading difficult. But when I listen & read along my ability to understand increases exponentially. I wish Spurgeons notes were audible as well - his thoughts are well worth the struggle though. I like to download Allistairs messages to my phone - I can listen to my "Jesus" music interspersed with Bible teaching & CS Lewis (currently Mere Christianity) while working. This app has a few "glitches" but the downloads play perfectly

After updating to the latest version yesterday the app is basically unusable. When listening to audio adjusting volume on my bluetooth headphones causes the app to crash. App also causes random black screens and just freezes at other times. All previous versions worked perfectly. This one is really buggy. I hope it is fixed soon.

Please fix the app! I loved the old one and listened to sermons every morning but now the player cuts out at the last 5 min. Very frustrating. Thanks it seems to be working fine now!!! I had no problems with the old app but the new version pauses before the sermon is over and won't resume. I haven't been able to hear an entire sermons yet. Alistair Begg is an amazing preacher and this app does him a huge disservice. It worked fine for me before on my Android phone but now it's broken.

Very handy app. Recently stopped playing shortly after start. The fix for me was to go to Settings>Device Care>Battery and select TruthforLife and then uncheck "Put app to sleep". Recently something caused my phone to prompt me that this app was using battery and asked me if I would like to put it to sleep. Apparently this would cause problems later down the road.

Unfortunately the app won't play content on my Android 5.0 Samsung. Even after uninstalling/reinstalling, it produces an error message after content is selected to play. Site navigation works fine; the error only occurs ince a message is selected to be played. Will catch Pastor Begg on AFR instead. Didn't want to rate the app low for a problem likely attributable to my old phone, so rating is for Pastor Begg's content.

incompatability - i use this app on my android phone almost every day. However, I recently got an Amazon Fire tablet and i continue to be unable to make it work. I've uninstalled and downloaded it several times but it keeps saying i need to install the new app...I love TFL! please keep working out the bugs in the new app. thank you!

Love the app and more importantly love the preaching! One thing to improve would be to have a way to keep the spot in a sermon I'm listening to when I exit the app and come back to it later. Otherwise I have to go back through the sermons and try to find it

It used to work. Recently it gave a message that app was cancelled. When I go to Google Play it offers to install but never concluded other than to tell me to open my wifi connection. Does not offer option to uninstall so I could attempt reinstall. Your assistance would be appreciated. I enjoy all TFL broadcasts.

Five stars for Truth for Life, but two stars for this app. I am not a fan. No listing of sermon series by title, no listing of past broadcasts, and the Back button frustratingly closes the app, losing my context within it. Sermon archives by date is next to useless in my opinion. I long for the old app to come back. The only mildly redeeming thing is searching by category.

This absolutely is so bad. I am rewriting my review. Worst ever. Make it come back to the other one. I'm praying for THAT. In Jesus name! I command this new app to be gone. Get the behind me app! Why did you change? This is not an improvement at all. Praying for your designers to fix it. The design firm should fix for free. All the problems noted in other comments match my experience. Note: add a feature that allows me to listen to next sermon without having to go back to beginning...let them go to next automatically. I listen for hours and want to just keep going. Send help! Your latest update has placed a dialog at the end of the Bible narration that was not there previously and it requires canceling or clearing of the queue. I don't use the queue and to require an extra click is annoying. Is there a way to stop the dialog from appearing?

The app does not work. Everytime I click...it says download the new app. and no I'm not clicking on the old app. I have installed reinstall deleted this repeatedly. the software is faulty. The program is wonderful

The teaching is great, and the app team has worked very hard to eliminate bugs and make the app equal to the teaching. Also note the team's responsiveness to issues brought up in these reviews :) Highly recommend!

I love the Bible teachings of Alistair Begg...every insight comes from the Bible, Alistair is just a well-versed and willing vessel of God. I like the improved new version of the app...one possible change- would it be possible to have an auto-play / next sermon button? As quite often, I am listening during an extended drive, I would love to just be able to safely let the series continue to play..sermon to sermon ( akin to binge watching). Thank you and please keep providing God's word to us all.

Great content. Thank you for providing this. The controls on drop-down window from the status bar do not work for my phone. It is a minor inconvenience though.

App has a pleasant look/feel, but you should really test it better before release. Daily scripture reading doesnt present text. That's a pretty basic feature and easy to test. Will stick with it because of Alistair, but pls, let's work on our 'ground game'. Eagerly awaiting fix.

Listen to many great messages while I work. Alistair Begg's preaching is easy to listen to. He doesn't give you all the answers, but instead steers you toward your own study, which I really appreciate. If you use the app and are able, I highly recommend becoming a truth partner and supporting the ministry monthly. I have been growing my personal library through the monthly resources, and even used some as gifts.

love the ministry, love the app. one little problem...I recently upgraded my phone to a S9 galaxy and the app keeps crashing. runs on my Samsung tablet but not on the new phone. any ideas? *Thanks for the update! The app is working great! 5 stars all the way.

This is the largest and most extensive collection of audio/video/text source material I have found. I don't agree with every doctrinal point, he hits it out of the park 99.5% of the time. He is Biblically sound and obviously does extensive research into the culture and time of the Bible text. Bro. Begg is my doctorate level instructor and has taken me to a whole new level of spiritual thought and action. I only which I had been introduced to him earlier in my ministry but we are close to the same age so I cannot fault that. I appreciate the great gift God has given him and his willingness to share without charge. He is an outstanding example of a servant of Christ. God Speed TFL

The new update does not allow me to view all the books of the Bible and further i can only flip forward and back from the beginning. Id like to at least get to proverbs and i can't not unless i press the botton a 100 times plus if i close the app it goes right back to page one

It would have been 5 stars because I love the app and I appreciate Alistair so much for his messages. But since the upgrade I now cannot get to the Bible index. It just goes to the last chapter I was reading and I have to use the arrows to go forward or backwards to the book I want to read. Which obviously takes a long time if your going from John to Isaiah. Please fix this and I'll give this app 5 stars again.
