Tsukiji - Kanji JLPT app

You want to train your Kanji / vocabulary learning before taking the JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) or just to read some awesome light novel you discovered (or even manga, visual novel, ...) ? Tsukiji is the right app to do that. You can select every kanji you already know, then take quiz to check if you really do.
You can even use your own font if you want to train cursive kanji.

With this application you'll have a fluid, user-friendly, and material design style interface.

This application is heavily based on Obenkyo, if you want some advanced feature like Kanji writing training, you should check it out !

Honestly, the BEST free app i've used to help me with learning with flashcards! I love the custom group options and testing on that. It helps me focus on certain kanji till i master it and move on to the next. Incredibly easy to use! This is the reason i have learned and memorize thousands of kanji by just intense sporadic but focused flashcards sessions 30 mins a day. #HighlyRecommend

It used to be the best app but now it is just a list of unending kanji and vocabularies. Very disappointing after seeing what it used to be. This was the only app I suggest to use to learn Japanese but no more.

Great, I still use it from time to time. I understand that this app is discontinued but I couldn't find the new appn maybe a link to it would be good...

It's a very useful tool for me. I just don't know how to take the tests yet. I'll figure it out.

How do I find Tsukiji 2? It's not under the same dev for Tsukiji 1 and searching for Tsukiji 2 doesn't show it. What is the dev name for Tsukiji 2?

The app crashes when I rotate my phone when I'm answering the quiz. It also crashes when I try to select a kanji in the compare list. It would be nice if those problems were solved, and if there were more quiz types and some statistics about my learning progress. Other than that the app is really nice, I liked it a lot, and i am learning kanji quite well so far. The way the quiz works makes me learn unexpectedly a lot better than other apps I've tried before.

First kanji app I found that actually shows me all the kanji right from the start without having to search them myself one by one. It's just soo much easier and comfortable to simply scroll down the list and review them as you see them, only tapping a kanji when your eyes tell you so. The Quiz format is great and I love that you can see the readings right after your answer in that little bottom window. Beautiful design, immediate interface, actually useful features. Perfect for JLPT kanji learners and reviewers.

Virtues of this app are in the UI, as described above. Seems to work OK, except cannot stay in the selected list when screen orientation changes (always resets to N5). But as for usefulness... with just one type of quizz (incidentally, one I need the least) doesn't carry this app very far and certainly cannot make the Obenkyo obsolete, as quircky as its UI may be. I will try to revisit this app in the future to see if it has grown in functionality, but for now, this is one quizz (with apparently no learning algorithms in it for intelligent frequency) is just not useful for me.

Everything is great as far as i can tell, but the quiz is terrible, after the first question there is a bug where the options to select for the kanji won't show up, i am using a samsung s5 if you want to fix the bug. I will keep my rating as 2 stars until this problem is solved

I love how this app lets you pickup what Kanji you want to learn and how aesthetiscally organized it is. Comparing with other kanji apps, it lets you study kanji at your own pace. Especially for advanced learners who just wants to concentrate their review on characters they are not familiar with.

I'm using zenfone 8. After choosing the first choice, the second question's multiple choice appear for a very short while and then disappearing, making me unable to choose any answer. After fiddling with the options, I believe for others who have similar issues, you just need to activate the animation option for quiz. As others say, this app is pretty neat visually. By the way, will there be from meaning to kanji and from kanji to kana/romaji for further development?

I really like this app. It's amazing for starting out to Kanji, as well as mastering it, learning vocabulary with the words that are used most often, as well as words that are not used often. You can click on the different Kanji to get a better understanding of which each Kanji mean to decipher a word, such as a word like 「音楽」音 means sound, and 楽 means comfort, ease, music. From those, you can see that it literally means "sound comfort", aka music. Which, personally, is how I prefer to learn Japanese vocabulary, and I think it's very nice to have an app that does that. Pros: -Completely free, no pay gates. -Allows for in depth knowledge of Kanji, their meanings and their usage in forming a word (as explained in my introductory statement). -Kun and on readings -Features a Kanji translation quiz, which asks a meaning of the Kanji and you answer multiple choice. You can choose to quiz yourself on N5, N4, N3, N2, N1, or "additional", individually, or altogether. -Intuitive grading system, where based upon the amount you answer the question correctly, it will less frequently appear in the quizzes. And, in the study section, it will give you a different colored heart depending on how well you understand a Kanji meaning, so you can easily find which Kanji you may be having trouble with. Cons: -No integrated vocabulary test -No "note" section, so you can jot down ideas of a specific Kanji meaning, such as 川. I could be able to write down a personal meaning, something like "splitting paths of flowing water", making it easier to remember the kanji, a very petty con, but it's something I would personally like. Some sugguestions: I realize this is strictly a Kanji app, however, I also believe it could add in possible sentence structures so you can get the context of how a sentence would be structured and what kind of meaning it would be portrayed in a gramatically correct Japanese sentence. I believe some of definitions are vague or ambiguous, resorting myself to look to outside sources for what it actually means, such as「 以 」, which means, by means of, because of, compared with, in view of. If I could get a sentence, I would be better able to understand the meaning of the word without having to look to outside sources. Overall, an amazing kanji-learning app that I highly recommend!

i don't know what's wrong but when i take the quizz only the first answer is working once i answer it the next set ia totally blank and i can't progress

Great app overall, but there are two relatively minor issues. First, whenever I tilt the screen the app crashes. Second, when I check the setting to turn romaji off, some romaji still remains; the readings of kanji characters in romaji disappears, but the readings of vocabulary that contain the character in romaji don't. I like to read the pronunciation in kana to improve my kana reading speed, however my eyes are instantly drawn to the romaji rather than the kana to the side of the vocabulary word. In my opinion, turning off romaji should turn off romaji _everywhere_, not just some places.

App is awesome. However, there is a bug when doing quizzes. I've only tried the N5 quiz so far, but it only shows answers for the first question. No answer choice shows on the screen for the second question, making the quiz impossible to actually do.

This exactly what I've been looking for, I never understood why words would have kanji and then follow with hiragana. I now understand what the meaning of the kanji is and why it is useful
