TTN Mapper

Results are available at http://ttnmapper.org
This app geotags packets from The Things Network and post them to a server. The goal is to map the actual coverage obtained by the gateways in the network. By inspecting this data "good" gateways can be used as role models for the installation of new gateways. It can also be used to fine tune terrain analysis radio coverage simulations (Radio Mobile, etc).

This app subscribe to the MQTT api to get notified when packets from a node that you carry with you are delivered. Because we can assume that your smartphone is close to the node, the location where a packet originated is deducted from the GPS of your smartphone. The rssi from the packets are geotagged, mapped, saved in a file and uploaded to our server (if you choose to). A map is drawn on our server that shows the coverage of every gateway. The maps can be view at http://ttnmapper.org.

You can use any hardware and software running on your TTN node. As long as you know the address of the node you can use it to map the coverage using this app.

Great concept but I haven't been able to actually use it because it keeps force closing right after I log in. Login details are correct and I can see my nodes listed behind the force close warning/window. I look forward to trying your next version! Keep up the amazing work!
