I used this app for a few years, and it was never flawless, but when it actually worked it was fine. However, a few months ago it completely stopped being able to connect to my tv at all, and hasn't worked since.
Lots of reviews out there - here is the truth. Works well with Apple TV. If ads annoy you, buy the premium version. Does not work with Google Play Movies. Conclusion - test it with the website you want to watch and if it works buy the premium
I'm using this app (premium version) for streaming twitch to my QLED Samsung TV. Stream quality is great but since a while it just loses connection and my TV says I should check my connection. Eventhough my TV is connected by cable and no apps have problems with internet.
Nothing bad to say.. it actually works.. only app able to put a live sports stream on my older smart TV from phone to tv
I recently bought a new smart TV, but it does not have the Twitch app. I downloaded this app to stream to the new TV. It's a great way to stream to the TV for free without having to buy a Chromecast or something similar.
I thought it was going to be wonderful. I read all of the ratings. It sounded like just what I needed. So I did download it. The only instructions that were included with this app were the ones for youtube. Not what I wanted. Now when I did get it up on the phone screen, I actually found my roku. However that's as far as I got with this app. No play button. Then the no exit ad covering the whole page. I usually premium up, I don't like ads. I also don't like headaches. Uninstalled. *** Update - I have to add one star, because I got a response from the developer. That does not always happen. Then I took it back cause they assumed I was stupid. When I said, "no play button", I meant there was not one there, not, "I need a special play button" But Thank You for the quick response.
No ads, cast to any device and control TV through hardware buttons - seems amazing. I'd very much like to know how does it work and over what protocol.
The playback is buffering alot when connected to xbox360 It play and stop play and stop play and stop so if not, I would give it 5 stars if it was playing without the buffering How ever the picture quality is good on the xbox though Only if there was an option to lower the picture quality display to mb 420 then mb it would stop the buffering ... Just so tubio know im running a a 5g 20 meg line from rain network in South Africa
Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Works great. Can cast the video and shut my phone off save the battery. It's a little slow responding but it works. I find the First cast doesn't show the video just the audio. I then delete the task from my task list and recast it to the TV and it works fine. I don't know what resolution is casting but 1080p looks pretty good on my 1080p TV.
This is the only app that has worked for me. It does hiccup from time to time, requiring a relaunch to find my Chromecast again. Youtube streams seem slower than when playing directly on a browser so it takes a few seconds to buffer. Overall, it works fine for what I need. For those who say it often closes/crashes, turn off battery optimization for Tubio in your App settings, and also long-press & lock the app so it stays in active memory. It will then run in the background without trouble.
When watching twitch streams (the reason I bought this app) you are not able to choose the quality of the stream. Since it is on auto and since my Internet is fast it tries to stream on source quality and gets jittery. The video freezes for less than a second constantly. The app just can't handle the high quality. It is really annoying to the point where I stopped using the app.
So I've been using tubio for as long as I can remember. I found some good streaming sites that work really well with the app. Lately though using the same sites the tubio app is just shutting down with no error code and kicking me back to the phone home screen. It frustrating as this app was my no.1 go to app for all my streaming through my apple tv box.
It's a difficult app to navigate. Beyond that, there are annoying ads which pop up after nearly every keystroke. The ads have a 5 second countdown BUT they dont count down. The ads stay stuck. You have to exit the app in order to navigate or get rid of the ad. It's a useful app, but annoying as heck For the tech person who said to use the block ad feature, it was already checked. Biggest problem is the ads don't close. 5.4.3.2.1. They stay stuck on 5 and keep playing unless you close the app
Seemed good to start. But whats the point of the app if half a second after pressing play, the advert stops the play, never to resume. Disappointed. Retested again... variable results to start but now all seems good?! Puzzling. Maybe I'm pressing keys in diff order. Get ad at 'stop' but music resumes ok. Don't know why its different to earlier.
I've been looking for an app that can broadcast Audio and play video and do like Apple airplay functionality To play on my Russound system MBX Home audio devices multi zone And this app did the job perfect the way I was looking for I'm going to purchase the premium thanks .
My Chromecast Mk 1 kept stuttering and being super annoying, to the point it would render videos completely unwatchable. After scrolling through pages and pages of forum questions, I finally found a user who recommended this app and it works amazingly! I was ready to trash my Chromecast and switch to an Amazon device, but this app has given it a new life!
Used to love this app, but now it disconnects every few minutes. It shows an ad on my phone screen (not on the tv), and requires reloading the website to restart the mirroring. I use the app to watch a legal, ad-free website showing sports, and this issue has made me miss many key moments. Moving on to some other app. :(
App kept on trying to play video/connect (auto play, auto connect), when I am trying to search for a video to play. Basicly it keeps on playing any 1st video it detects in any websites that has video ads. Before the updates, it was working VERY GREAT!!! Btw, it cuts off at a period of time. Had to reconnect over and over during 1.30 hrs of movie watching.
It almost perfect but It doesn't include subtitles on the tv there's an option for that but it doesn't work
Does what it says on the tin - I can cast streaming video from a variety of sites to my AppleTV with minimal fuss. The one thing it seems to choke on often is live streams, many of which just load indefinitely. Overall, though, it's excellent for a free app; it even blocks online ads, while showing none of its own, a real rarity nowadays. A solid 4.5 stars! One small complaint - I wish it would stop asking me to rate and review it in the Play Store, as I've (obviously) already done so!
The subtitles doesn't work....I dont recomad premium..
I often don't rate apps, but this one definately deserves a good review. This app is really good and useful for watching things like twitch when my TV doesn't have it built in. Well made app Okay I've had this app for a while now and have noticed that it does seem to stutter and buffer a bit. It sorts itself out within about a minute or two but it still gets annoying
It works for YouTube and SoundCloud flawlessly. Very basic but also totally functional unlike so many casters, this actually works.
After latest updates Tubio is really working well. I was never able to do live sports streams with this app. Now I can.
Does the job if you gonna sit and keep retrying connection everytime when it looses it. Anyway app Is slow, very slow, and disconnects from network a lot. I paid fof premium version, no adds. At the curent state its meh, but If they fix constant disconnects and slows encountered while choosing the video that you play it will be good app. Atm just cant recomend it.
It works well, but I need to delete Tubio app data every onece in a while. If I don't, the app will not stream the next video. Update: restart router, TV, phone does not help.
