Tummi FODMAP

The low fodmap diet is a therapeutic approach for those suffering from IBS symptoms. This diet-as-a-therapy starts by removing all high-FODMAP foods from your diet for up to six weeks, avoiding only those foods that might be triggers.

Dietitian's recommend maintaining a fodmap food diary to support the fodmap approach and helping you beat IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

The low-FODMAP diet is an evidence-based approach. Studies have found it leads to improvement in 7 out of 10 IBS patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

If your symptoms improve, then the app supports the process to methodically add back the various FODMAP food groups one at a time to see which ones you can tolerate. Thereby achieving a better-balanced diet and being able to eat a wider spectrum of foods. The diet is not forever. It’s more like detective work to see which FODMAPS trigger IBS symptoms.

Tummi App is designed to support people with an IBS diagnosis through this detective work. The Tummi FODMAP App allows users to check foods for high fodmaps, maintain a food diary, log flare-ups and identify the foods that trigger IBS symptoms.

Using the app you will be able to manage all three stages of the low FODMAP IBS diet to learn which FODMAP foods lead to flare-ups and optimise your diet for reduced symptoms. Improve your chances of successfully following the low FODMAP diet and then re-introducing foods to understand the ingredients that are triggering your symptoms.

The Tummi FODMAP App helps many people to resolve issues with digestion, abdominal pain and bloating. The App is useful for users to monitor a variety of gut health related symptoms.

Key features:
• Check FODMAP friendly foods, ingredients and prepared meals
• Log meals and flare-ups in a user friendly food diary
• Quickly learn which foods your Irritable Bowel Syndrome is sensitive to
• Share therapeutic outcomes with your clinician/dietitian
• Use our tracker function to monitor your progress through the diet
• Learn to maintain a nutritionally balanced diet avoiding foods associated with flare-ups
• Develop strategies to keep intermittent, like bloating, in check. Many users go back to the app from time to time to upgrade their low fodmap adherence

The app should be used in consultation with a healthcare professional.

The low FODMAP diet app has been developed based on the research and clinical studies on IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) completed by Kings College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ (KCL) and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

Adoption of a diet low in fodmaps will often help where diarrhoea, wind, bloating or constipation are caused by gut inflammation. Some users with occasional flare-ups of these symptoms can beat bloating, and other embarrassing gut health symptoms, by following the fodmap approach under the guidance of a dietitian.

Very useful as I figure out my gut issues! Features I'd like to see are an ability to copy a previous meal (leftovers are key!), default the view to today instead of tomorrow, don't make me scroll to pick a meal (plenty of space to put it all on one page), and make it possible to edit a prior meal (if I think of an ingredient I missed, it's a deterrent to have to delete the meal and start over). Thanks for creating this - looking forward to seeing it improve!

I've tried two different email address so I can register and I still do not receive the verification email. I have also tried resending it several times, however I do recieve the email to reset my password. So this app is useless. Shame as I would like to use it. Original rating 1 star Thanks for the quick response from your team in under an hour. Great service and the app works perfectly.

Nicely designed app but limited functionality. I wanted to add foods to my diary but if they're not in the lookup list you can add them. Like gluten-free pasta, white coffee. I did like the quantity of branded foods prepopulated in there though. The ability to edit a meal after submitting it would also be useful. I found the app too limited for the 2 meals I had today and won't be using it.

Very very limited on food input. I wanted to input tuna salad sandwich, and unless it was this particular brand of tuna (not even a tuna salad or tuna salad sandwich) it refused. The app also doesn't show me whether or not the food I did pick was a good choice. So I might have to use two apps... One to analyze foods, one to use as a diary and symptom tracker. I was hoping for an all in one

The app is clean and simple and I love the design. My only draw back, which is major for me, is not being able to enter foods that do not come up on their list. The developers were responsive to my feedback and I really appreciate that.

Good interface but have to select from a fixed library of meals instead of just writing exactly what I had to eat, so it isn't 100% accurate. This alone was enough for me to stop using the app.

Can't add in what I actually eat! I tried multiple times adding in what I had for breakfast this morning which was toast and honey and it wouldn't let me add it in. When that failed I tried adding in what j had for lunch. Couldn't add that in either. Going to try a different app now.

Great idea, but the list of foods is highly restrictive and there is no clear way of adding new things. As a coeliac, following a strict gluten free diet, I often have to substitute my meals for gluten-containing versions on the app, so the analysis is not representative. Also, some foods are classed differently in the traffic light system depending on the term chosen (i.e mozzarella (Green) and grated mozzarella (red))

Really good user experience in this app. Has made it incredibly easy for me to maintain food and symptoms log. Really helping me make progress with my health with fodmap.

This app has really helped me beat my IBS. I've been able to log all of my meals, identify high fodmap foods and understand why some foods give me tummy trouble. Really easy to use, I love the voice entry function that makes everyday use so effortless

Features sound good but it requires phone number and name which don't appear necessary for the delivery of the service. Privacy policy explaination is unconvincing. Uninstalled. Edit: If they're not required, don't make them required fields.

A helpful app! Simple to use. Had problems with verification but staff gave quick and useful response via email. Would reccomend.

Account required to use this app. Should be able to use the app locally without an account, and then the user can sign up later if they want online features, sync, backup or whatever the account is needed for.
