DaTuner converts the fundamental frequency to the nearest note and error in cents for quick and easy tuning of your guitar, ukelele, violin, bass, cello, mandolin, piano, harp, saxophone, Ducati timing belt, harmonica, kazoo, you name it.
DaTuner's display is easy to read; nearest note and octave is displayed in a giant, easy to read font in the center of the screen, and frequency in hertz plus error in cents is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Sensitivity is auto-adjusted, but can also be adjusted by touch via a bar on the left-hand side of the screen, and the speed/accuracy of the algorithm and the relative frequency (if other than 440Hz) can be adjusted via the configuration menu.
There is no "dead zone" with this tuner app as is the case with many other apps. Instead, the whole display turns green when the incoming frequency is within a configurable range of the target frequency and you can still see small changes in pitch even within the "in-range" area. Both the "in-tune" range and the colours shown for sharp and flat can be configured in this version.
Screen and filter lock allow you to select the note that you would like to tune to, with filter lock ignoring anything outside of the range of the note you wish to tune, which is useful for tuning in noisy environs.

The ads that pop up when opening the app are really intrusive mostly because they have sound, even when your device is in silence mode. I play in a band and it already happened twice that I open the tuner on stage to check tuning and the sound of the ad goes for the whole audience. I never felt such same before in my life.
Was great before the obnoxious ads set in. Such is the way. The tuner does work though, haven't checked in a while but years ago when I started using this I did check against a clip on, pretty close in a quiet setting. Definitely a handy app, could save your hams.
[UPDATE 2: Now it takes about 30-90 seconds to launch, and serving full-screen ads. Can't close the ad so I can tune, for 60 seconds. I'm not going to watch a commercial or play a mini-game every time, before I tune. And $30 PER YEAR for the ad-free version? No way it's worth that! It's time to break up. Uninstalled... monetize *that*.] Was nice, did exactly what was needed.
Used this app for years and somehow it just gets worse. Some of the opening tunings are wrong. The advertisements are intrusive. I don't understand how you can take a good sufficient product and make it worse.
Tuning is wonderful. The metronome is moderately useless. I would like to see tempo markings (Largo, Adagio, Andante, etc) with matching numeric settings. Would like to have an accent sound on the first beat of the measure. Maybe I haven't looked deeply enough into the settings, maybe I just don't understand the controls. I was somewhat stunned at the cost, and went ahead because my teacher uses it and loves it, but not sure it's worth the money. Probably not going to renew.
I've used this tuner for a really long time, and it used to be reliable. Right around the time they added the "premium" option and the ads, I noticed a serious plummet in the quality of the tuner. It doesn't pick up the sounds as quickly, and it's not nearly as responsive as it used to be. I have no problem with them monetizing it, but its just become almost unusable. I'll be switching to another app for tuning now.
Tried it with free trial and doesnt work well, now it keeps asking me to pay for a subscription. Does trial means you have to pay a such amount even if you are not satisfied with just the trial?? What happen? Why would you charge such amount without asking if your trial was satisfyng?
It does what it's saposed to but so does every other tuner app I found the swirling flashing light feel while tuning is terrible and you go into the app and find you can the way it flashes kinda it's different configurations of the main screen just progressively getting worse you don't need all the flash less is more sometimes this is the prime example.here ya go boys I'm going to fix for ya seems obvious 1 flash or 1line lets a red line that glows brighter while tuning! ( ready) BING GREEN end
2022-03: It doesn't deserve 5 stars anymore. The app have a lot of advertisements and a terribly delay to open [showing a guitar shape in green without opening the app... So boring]... I won't use it anymore and I change my tuner for Soundcorsed app... Sorry developers ------ 2Y ago: Great app. I could tune my guitar including the octaves. Very useful!
Current developers are nothing more than thieves. Had it installed for quite some time and used it rarely, but when I needed it, it worked nicely. Now I wanted a quick measurement, but instead was greeted with an unskippable fullscreen ad, another fullscreen ad for an expensive subscription based pro version, overcrowded UI with unnecessary stuff and an ad before the app exits. Effect? Huge productivity drop and frustration. Gonna search for an open source alternative, this is unusuable now.
This app is the most sensitive, clear, precise and accurate tuner I've ever used, compared to both as real hardware tuners and virtual cell phone tuners. Absolutely awesome! I've tried well over 20 tuners in 16 years of playing the violin. This one is by far the best.
I have used this app for years. It used to be the best tuner. Now is barely usable due to the huge amount of adds. I would happy pay for a one time purchase, but asking for a subscription simply does not make sense. I have uninstalled.
SUPER OBSTRUSIVE ADS WITH MINI GAMES TO CLOSE THEM. A full minute from opening the app u til you can use the tuner, so many times ads. and the owners (Prometheus) will respond with a canned dismissal, they didn't develop the app, they bought it off the original devs. use an open source tuner instead. used to be nice, quick, fairly accurate. now it is slow, covered in ads and ads to remove ads.
Used this app for years but I don't know what's up with it now. I can't find the transposition settings ANYWHERE! I'm repairing woodwinds all day and need to be able to set for Bb, Eb horns etc. Is this just me? What gives?
Used to work well but the upgrades just have it bloated with ads. Took 90secs if and watching to access a basic tuner. Deleted
It's easy to use and it looks simple too.. Not too overwhelming especially for beginners..
There is a bug... evetytime I open the app it gets stuck on the loading screen.... I have to keep close and open it to make it work. Please fix this because sometimes I'm om front of a crowd trying for minutes and they are looking at me very weirdly. This bug is forcing me to use another app, please dont make me and fix it.
I'd remove your ads for one, I doubt your still paying your developers and your app isn't that great compared to others , second as a guitar player For 20years I can say it didn't work at all, I was actually better off with my own ear this just confused everything, why not make it just function like a normal tuner aswell rather than doing some wierd stay on one side thing 🤦
Bad app . I am really disappointed. I had used this app before 1 year in that time it was pretty good .but now I think it's became worst 😶. And the ad that coming up is really disturbing. When I played the e string it's showing as b string . It's not working properly.
Used to be my go to basic tuner, now it regularly fails to pick up input and the adds are intrusive enough to make it not worth opening. Plenty of better alternatives with less intrusive adds now, use them.

This used to be a great tuner app until I was forced to install other apps to access the tuner and still had problems getting to the tuner. And, I don't mind the ads at all but this is too much for me.
Easily one of the worst ad integrations in the entire play store. This app is out of my phone for ever.
This app has become a nuisance with a lot of adds in between. The app is also not working properly nowadays.
App was always really helpful and the tuner great. Now you have ads all the time and even before the app even starts. Also crashes all the time. Just use another app.
Pretty sure I paid for the full version of this app forever ago. For life. They don't care about that tho as long as i see there 45 second un skipable ad.... like really, I used to recommend this to everyone. Now I tell everyone to run far away from it. Deleting
I uses to use this all the time... before ads. Now, the amount of ads clog it up and it can take over a minute to load. I no longer can recommend this app. I'm looking for a different one now.
Uninstalling this after several years, as the ads make it utterly unusable. How am I supposed to tune up in a rehearsal if I have to get through ten seconds of noisy videos first? Ads for something I have absolutely no interest in (not that it would be an improvement if I was interested). And then when the ad has finished, it doesn't go back to the tuner or metronome, it just stops there or takes you to the app store. Hopeless. It used to be worthwhile, not anymore.
