Tuner - gStrings

Was a good app in past but now there seems to be a bug. I gave it microphone permission but it's still stuck in the "this app needs microphone permission to work Yadda yadda" screen. Reinstalling didn't fix the issue. The free version worked. I also don't get why it makes me want to download a second identical app from the store after purchasing the ad-free version, just for that to be not usable. It would be better if there was a option to upgrade the ap I currently have already downloaded.

Great tuner. Would be great if the dev would stop being a con artist though. I've paid for this 3 times now. It's clever, copy and pasting and renaming the app and then deleting the old version so that everyone starts clean on purchase history, every once in a while. Getting old bro. Last time I'm buying. The lazy developer welfare is running low.

Good reliable app. I don't use it a huge amount, as I tend to use an instrument mounted vibration sensing tuner, but this is very handy if I've not got that to hand. It's limited in noisy environments, but that's true of all mic based tuners. Seems accurate, and the frequency readout is useful from time to time.

Walks you through tuning multiple instruments. I'm a guitar player, so I had no idea how to tune my granddaughter's violin; this app made it easy.

Wanted to help developer by buying ad free version. But it is not working in the same phone I used free version. Allowed all the necessary permissions but I am in a loop of pop up settings again and again, can't proceed. Free version working fine.

I LOVE THIS APP!!! I have been using it for years now. It's the only tuner app that I've ever needed, and I love the simplistic design. I have NEVER experienced bugs, or even a lack of features. The UI is great and it's super easy to use! Thanks devs!

You app is the perfect tool for me,I am an old guitarist at 65,I took again my guitar from the wall and start to play (seriousely?)since 3-4 years..I like the clarity and precision of the needle,simple system but so efficient!!! Now I use this app since few month,less than a year,but before this one other apps never satisfied me more than a week! So well done,the team,and don't change anything ,ok? Bye now!.✌️😉👍

Used the free version and it worked very well. So decided to buy it, would not let me get any further than a screen saying you must allow microphone access. I did that and it shows up in settings, but it still would not load.

Easy to use, good working app, using the free version for many years. Now bought it to support the developer. Only crashes when trying to edit an instrumentname, happens both when adding or editing an instrumentname. Android 8.0, Huawei m5 lite.

I've used free version for many years. But then it stopped working with my new phone and I've realized how good it was. I was missing it so much! Nothing on Google play is even close to this one. Now all bugs are fixed and I'm really happy to support author! Thank you!

Pretty annoyed that I have to pay for it again... sure I paid for it like 7 years ago, but it was one of those, pay for it once and I'll always have it on me typa things... apparently not... Edit: Refuses to tune D4, jumps to d5 no matter how many times I move it back 🙃 Majorly disappointed, used to be a great app...

Nicely designed, works great, and has powerful features for advanced users (aka not me). Over the years, different app versions and different google accounts, I’ve bought this app 3 times. And why not? It’s good and the price is low.

6 years I've used this app. Just buy it! I've used this app to tune strings on every instrument you can imagine for people like myself to artists on a live set that had a technical issue with their instrument tech. I've always trusted this app and always will.

I have used this for years. Now no longer works on Galaxy s10+ The note letter stays the same even though the HZ are changing. The messed up part is the free version works fine!

This is an excellent tool for musicians. I like especially how customizable it is! And the user interface is intuitive, even for a musician!

I like the accuracy, it's very responsive (good and bad as it picks up on background noise, too) i liked it well enough to get the paid version.

Used the free version for many years and it's amazing. About time I throw a few bucks to the dev for the fantastic app. I use this app to tune all of my guitars, basses, and even ukulele. Worth every penny.

Excellent app. As a lifelong pro level guitarist and bassist, a handy tool such as this is a true blessing. Have been using it for a long time and can always count on it when I need it. Kudos to the developers.

cant seem to ever focus on a note, keeps fluctuating in a quiet room and doesnt really help tune that well anymore. switched to another app

Keeps asking for mic permissions, despite being granted full access 'while using the app'. Free version still works

I've been using this tuner for a few years tuning multiple stringed instruments and never had any issues with it. Better than all the stand alone tuners I have owned.

Emailed the developer over a week ago with no response. I'm trying to tune a piano but the app is not picking up A0, A0# or B0. Do you recommend any settings for tuning a piano that would solve this? Thank you

A great app for tuning not only Guitars, but also tonal percussion instruments such as the Tabla. This is a must have on every phone I upgrade to.

I use this app daily for tuning my cello and while practicing. The only small drawback is it is alittle slow to respond to the note played,. I like that it displays the htz which makes it very useful tuning drums.

Really solid tuner app. Very versatile. Wouldn't replace a tuner in other settings but great for at home.

This is the absolute best and I apologize for not writing a review earlier!! This guitar tuner is the only tuner I use for all my instruments! Anyone that plays a stringed instrument needs this app! Thank you gStrings!!

Exceptional. Not even sure how this app is possible, meaning I don't know how the technology works. It's rather magical. And it comes in handy soooo often

Probably the best note-at-a-time tuner for Android. Supports Great Highland Bagpipe temperament by default! And shifting A from 440 to 480! Both needed to tune the pipes.
