While I like Tutanota as an email client I am not enjoying the app on android at all. There doesn't seem to be any zoom feature to enlarge text, which is quite tiny in some emails. No changing of settings on my device seens to help and unless I'm missing it there are no settings for a large or even extra large font in the Tutanota app settings. I appreciate the advice to double tap for zoom as I didn't know this, however it is still quite small for some emails and doesn't work for others.
A great Gmail alternative for some folk that wants to encrypt their emails inbound and outbound, in a possibly the cheapest plan I've ever purchased online. One thing that bugs me is that count numbers on Trash icon still exists even their is no emails. Hoping for an offline storage so that I can view my emails without connection. But overall, the service runs smoothly, for a personal usage.
Now when I hit reply on an email and it opens up a new reply page, the page automatically jumps down to the bottom of the original email, and not staying atop the whole thing to reply. When I scroll back up to the reply section (like any email is supposed to do), it will automatically jump back down again. Even if I stay typing quickly, the slightest split second pause in typing and it jumps back down. Makes it impossible to reply. Fix this issue. App is updated etc.
I created an account recently to try Tutanota services specially because the encrypted calendar feature. The remiders of the calendar does not work if I don't open the app. It is worthless. For security reasons I don't set up apps to start automatically when I turn the phone on. I hope it can be fixed so I come to give more stars.
Very good service, good looking interface, high quality and they pay attention to the details. Privacy is central here (except for payments where you have to go through another vendor to pay privately). Premium is also only 1eu/mnth. All in all im very happy.
Best emailing service I've used. Unlike Google, it actually respects your privacy and has great UI, customization and a nice minimalist design. It's only €12/yr for a premium email so it's super affordable as well.
No notify of new emails. Edited: disable battery optimization is only the first step, I manage to make push notification to work after changing App notification setting of tutanota to Urgent. Edited 2: Still have problem receiving emails from some senders for unknown reason. Not in the spam folder or in the "rejected emails" in global settings. Edited 3: The app allows login multiple accounts, add 1 star
I have faced two problems 1. Does not notify on new mail (allowed notifications and ignored power consumption as well) 2.Cannot check inbox mail when network is down (this is huge drawback), I faced when travelling. Atleast you could have allowed to use via email client These two are grave reasons for me not to continue with your services
A very confusing and unintuitive privacy and security focused email client. It's nearly impossible to find what you're looking for in Tutanota and I regularly find myself lost in the app not sure where my emails are. Beware, they will ask you for a subscription once you have accumulated 900 MB of emails. Paying this subscription not only does not grant you more storage, it only give you access to the option to buy more storage at roughly $20 per year on top of the first $20 you first forked up.
I really like the simple design, but I feel like there are some things missings. It would be very useful if we could read a preview of the mail from the notification. It would also be nice to be able use the app while offline, this could also help with the loading time.
Cranky, old-fashioned, manipulative pricing, missing basic functions. No search facility, terrible calendar, no predictive email contact, can't be used with a different email client so now we're all locked into this rubbish. The list of faults is endless
The app itself is good, but notifications don't work somewhere between sometimes and most of the time. It seems to regularly refresh in the background, but when I open the app I see 7 new E-Mails from over a week ago that I did not get notified of
I love your email service. Just today though I keep getting a notice that Tutanota has stopped working despite it working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and my phone keeps giving me the same message. Wondered if anybody else was having this problem.
The best email client there is in the market. Loved the calendar UI. I would give 10 star if there is an option. One little problem noticed: yes they are already disabled and the sync is always active.
Blocker problem on android 12 and tutanota v3.94.2. When trying to reply on an email the app hangs up and stops working. It's before keyboard shows up to allow typing. Tried reinstalling the app, but still not working.
could you consider increasing the sending out attachments files to 100 MB . 25MB isnt really feasible .repost again. ... use geographical unlock in app ( not proxy) . Marketing plan is a failure. Just charge 15€ one time fee for personal use. Yearly memberships doesnt work. 1GB storage doesnt work . Many Things need rework
DON'T USE THIS SERVICE! worst user experience ever! Paid Features won't work, tried to delete accounts that I already paid for and re-sign, didn't work! Got ip blocked and couldn't sub on any tier! Contacted support multiple times without any respond! I didn't care about the payment as much as the time wasted to make it work! Moved to proton (no issues there) although I wanted this mail service. The way they treated premium customers deserve zero stars rating!
I have been using Tutanota for almost six years. The app is very good, but it would be more useful if widget option make available
Love the service and the app, but when opening and trying to reply to an email, it just hangs for a good 30 seconds. Adding that this issue still occurs, but even more noticeable now, if I edit any text the app hangs. Bold the text? Hangs, anything causes it to hang.
App was endlessly syncing notifications. That stopped when I reinstalled it but now I can't access my mailbox. "Looks like you are offline. Could not reach server. Please try again later."
At least it's not Google. There's a very long standing bug - when you empty your trash folder, the number of items still reflects. You have to go to Inbox then back to Trash, then empty an already emptied folder to remove the number. PC and mobile. How this still hasn't been addressed is a mystery.
Update update update update. Every damned few days it's update. Constantly. This is getting annoying. You guys need to go find our what protonmail does that they don't have to update their app three times per week.
Best quiet email out there. Have tried several. Tutanota is simple, clear and concise. Excellent email service
For the safety conscious. As with anything well protected, a little slow but not enough to bother you. Support is fast.
After I set up this email account and tested it with another address I was immediately banned for sending "spam". Tech support has not responded to me. Terrible service!
Tutanota is by far the best email service I have ever used. There is however a slight learning curve to figure everything out. The most detailed guide and help section is provided. It's just me using two emails along with the five aliases for a game that I'm admittedly far to into that requires a FB account for each game account. Tutanota is perfect for this while also keeping my inbox cleaner than I ever could myself. The prices are fair for the services offered. I couldn't be happier. 💯
I like tutanota desktop but the android app is strangely unable to zoom on emails using 2 fingers to zoom progressively, just the double tap is available. Also when selecting a text in an email it is impossible to unselect, the only option is to copy so the menu closes.
Best most secured email and you don't have to worry app screwing you secretly this is the Gold Standard on a good secured app every app should learn from the Creator's cause this is how all apps should be so go all who read this download this app you won't be sorry I can guarantee it.
Still can't reply to emails. The app is frozen and the fonts are so frigging small you can't even read the replies and the app doesn't allow to zoom in. What is that? Based on the comments I'm not alone. So fix this please
The UX is good but there are a few problems. Conversations don't automatically stay in the same folder and are not regrouped as 1 mail. And it's not possible to chose "default sender: none" to avoid mistakes. If I had summarise: I'd like to use alias just like having two separate accounts (personal and pro). EDIT: indeed if I reply to a message received on a certain alias, it will be kept as the sender alias in the reply. I'm really sorry I thought not when I tested... Thank you for your reply.
