Was a favorite app I used daily. Uninstalled due to the advertisements playing longer than the amount of time used to check the TV schedule. I understand ads help pay the bills but enough is enough! I do not mind a banner ad, however a full page extended play with no way to escape was too much. I went tothe Titan TV app andam satisfied.
I only rated this app with one star, simply because it doesn't work with my Android TV box, I will change my rating if the app is fixed for problem.
What happened? Channels aren't in numerical order anymore. Impossible to use. Used to be best TV programming app.
Meh -- not nearly as bad as regular TV Guide app (that one's awful), but this one is just okay...
Not perfect for me, but it does include some very interesting details such as imdb ratings. Recently the app started to display ads in a particularly obnoxious manner. For example when you scroll to a program & before you can click on that item to get more info, the screen data suddenly moves and an ad moves in front of the item you were about to click on. It's even worse than a popup ad. This over the top parasitic behavior destroys any useful value you might had thought the app originally had. You won't be thinking that it's time to buy the app. You'll be looking to remove it. Also when I opened the app today part of the interface was missing so that it was impossible to view program information for anything more than the current time. What could the author of this app be thinking? I'm hoping that this is only a temporary glitch.
I've used this app for the last few years with no problems. However, for the last two days, I can no longer connect to it. I do get the opening ad, of course, but then get a message saying "connection error." Now, my internet connection is fine; I can connect to everything else. I've forced stopped the app multiple times, no luck. I've uninstalled it, and reinstalled it twice, no luck. I've emailed the developers, no response. So, I've been forced to switch apps. Too bad. This was a good app.
Really great app! You can see what was on previously if you want to, which is rare. There are IMDB links, you can choose your channels by packages, or individually add and delete them. You can choose the order you want the channels to appear in as well. Couldn't be happier with the function and layout of this app. There is an ad, which is easily closed when you open the app sometimes on the free version, but can be eliminated with an inexpensive upgrade if it bothers you. Highly recommended!
After several months of relative satisfaction (3-4 star), I am uninstalling this app. The sudden insertion of super intrusive ads is a deal-breaker for me. Until today, there were a fair few ads, as expected with a free app, but they were acceptably sized and didn't require action from me. Now, however, I'm forced to click on a full screen ad before I can get to any TV information screens at all, and on top of that some of the ads involve slanted politics or other topics that I find offensive.
I loved this app for years & recommended it to everyone. Disappointed u stopped having original airdates with show info, sometimes even no season or episode number. It meant looking that up on IMDB. But now the advertising pops up as the entire page- first! You have to look in each corner of the ad for a little x, or a "no thanks" to hit before you can get to the schedule! If the ad is for IMDB, there's no way to move forward without adding their app! No choice.
This is a nice replacement for TV Guide app because it shows more information in a smaller graphic footprint. Especially useful for local "open air" channels which do not have their own guide. The issue some people mention about the 6am start seems to be a problem with provider data rather than the app as that issue also occur in the TV guide and in my cable TV provider's own internal guide - which is probably the source of the problem.
Pros: Easy to set up. Interface is pretty. I really like the idea of the side menu watchlist. However... Cons: -The deal breaker for me was that the channel number doesn't display on your customized watchlist. You see the show name & time, but you have to look up the channel number. -It would be useful to be able to filter to display only NEW or LIVE episodes on the main guide. -Display should have single line rows to display more channels on screen.
I have used this for about two years. It worked reasonably well until it began producing additional ads about a month ago. The INITIAL ad is often slow and can lock-up the app for almost a minute. The followings ad make it difficult to page through (and view) the channel guide. I am now looking for an alternative app.
The best ota broadcast tv listings app ever. This app has real time listings. All others don't match exactly what's on the air for ALL stations. Even when there is special last minute programming changes including live news breaks like the recent capitol election disaster. 10 out of 10. There is an ad everytime I open the app but once I close it out, that's the only until I open the app again for another session.
Eh, so so. This app needs a major fix. Please make the right scroll bar much less sensitive or make it Removable or able to move to the left side. Whenever you try to just scroll the page with your finger, the side scroll bar always gets activated and it scrolls waaaaaaay past where you are on the page. Hope this makes sense. It's very very very annoying!
Ads take too long to load. Some times this app is ok, but most of the time I am left waiting up to 2 minutes before an ad loads and than you have to watch some part 5 to 20 seconds of that ad before you can see what's on tv. Given the almost 2 and a half minutes to load the app, I can just scroll through the channels.
Used to be an excellent app. Now, however, if I leave the tv guide screen to go to another app & then go back, it stalls at the screen just before the guide screen & won't go any further. Have cleaned the cache & data and even uninstalled & reinstalled, but have had the same problem. Not sure what else to do. A shame, since it really IS a great app.
This app USED TO BE great..uninstalling now! Recently was updated with incredibly intrusive, LOUD, full screen, often dishonest, spammy ads that take ages to fully load, for all kinds of junk apps, games, & politicians that block the entire screen the moment you open the app. Once it FINALLY loads, you have to watch the ad anywhere up to a minute to get a TINY X you have to HUNT for to close the ad & see listings...sometimes it never shows an option to close or freezes so you must force reset.👎
Liked this app. But no longer has fast scroll on the paid version.
Has gone from good to worse than bad. Recent update (9/02) did nothing but slow down the loading of this app. And installed a new pop-up ad at starting, on top of my slow internet connection, I must wait well over a minute till I can see the programming schedule. Annoyingly, in my timezone, the app starts the new day at 5am, making it confusing for late night watching and scheduling of programs. And now the notifications won't work either. Installed in 2017, but uninstalling now. Too bad. 😳
I downloaded several apps similar and this was the only one I found that had all the channels we have. Also its customizable, so I could delete the channels we dont get. And one channel on here was in the wrong order so I was able to just move it to the order the tv shows it. I am very pleased with it. Thanks !
After TV Guide destroyed their app, I had to find a new one. I installed and tried several. This is the one I kept 'cause I can set favorite channels. I have to get used to a different grid setup, but at least it works! Update: the more I use this, the more I like it.
Now the font is extremely tiny! What happened? This used to be very good. You can choose what channels to include and the order you want them to display. It includes descriptions, movie ratings and IMDB links. You can make a watch list, you can check listings up to a week ahead - except now I need a magnifying glass to read it!
I am able to receive more channels than is found in my lineup, for instance I live between a Angeles and Bakersfield. but I'm only allowed to choose from one lineup, or the other. please allow me to select from other nearby areas too, and you will receive a higher rating. Also, I'm unable to leave a message thru the app.
Great app! Select, sort, and create your daily watch list from movies, sports, reality, documentary, ...etc.and set reminders. Sync across all of your devices as well. Ads are beginning to lag the system and sometimes take2-3 seconds for next screen. This is on a new Samsung S10.
Update: 5 stars for IMDB link in movie descriptions and fix to 11.4. Thnx! Nice grid, easy to edit and add/remove channels as broadcast changes occur. But, the information for Houston over-the-air Channel 11.4 is outdated: 11.4 used to be Quest, but is now Twist. PLEASE FIX. Will change to 5 stars when info is correct. Like many other reviewers, I came here b/c the update of another TV Guide app I used for years has rendered that app utterly useless. I hope to stay with this app for a long time.
The scroll tool is missing or not working.
Only been using this app for a week but so far I'm impressed. It's been very accurate for the local stations in my area. It has a good search feature and will remind me when my shows are coming up so I can record them on my simple ota dvr. Totally worth the fee to remove ads.
This app is okay, better than some in that more channels are available, but not all. Problems I have are full screen ads, and worse is that I mark shows for reminders 5 minutes before start of show and usually get no reminder. Uses too much data for not working right.
The latest update no longer provides movies, sports etc. categories on my phone. Just basic listings. Trying to get categories just brings up blank pages. Therefore, annoying. The best feature used to be numerical movie ratings and links to movie review sites, but this feature recently seems to have been dropped for most movies.
