TVB NEWS

The app would stop working suddenly whenever there's a news notification sent out by TVB, and you would have to re-launch the app again to resume watching...., which could take upto several minutes. If the news notifications are frequent, well good luck because there's no way you can watch a complete news session without interruption. This started happening since their recent update to 2.4.0 and it still has not been fixed in the current update 2.4.2. That's 3 updates in a few days and it's only getting you more and more frustrated. Well, please test your app before releasing it.

I think most people use this app in their phone so they experience lots of problem. I run this app from my chromebook and output to my TV. In my observation, there is a 6 sec to 30 sec ads per video stream. I stopped watching the headline. I either watch the live boardcast or individual program. 20 minutes program with 30 sec ads is not that bad. The same app in iPhone is a lot more stable than Android.

was the worst APP I ever met ! Also The TVB NEWS too much overhead, news time only fraction of its total time, too many other tvb programs introduction, over 50% !!

The sports news is the greatest. They often display a blank page and one hears some text only. The word "vision" in television means watching (and not only listening)!

Too many ads! After loading the app, there is a 5 second ad. Then it TRIES to load the front page, takes forever, change to a different tab... another 5 second ad. Worst thing is, it didnt load the news under that tab. The live news does work and the ads are less intrusive.

Love the live-streaming news channels. App is slow and stalling/rendering unfortunately. App UI design is just ok when using on mobile devices. The navigation is terrible for non-touch devices such as Android TV. May 2020 update - I have no problem running the app's live video streams on my mobile or Android TV. I dont know why the other reviews say audio only.

Slow and buggy. Picture-in-picture is a feature that does not work. Swipe to change timeline is unreliable and too fast. Exiting autoplay does not restore to the respective news article reported. Most importantly, news is selectively biased.

Always disconnect during the live connection which is quite disturbing and he most impact is missing the news content once disconnected. Others are perfect. News notification is very helpful which can always get the latest handful news information.

It stops suddenly very often. Can be less than 1 minute, can be 10 to 30 minutes. Have to relaunch in order to watch a complete news session. Very annoying.

The stream and content are good, my complain is the stabilty of the app. When i live stream or watch a video segment the app can suddenly shut down randomly. This happen very often. Fix this problem and you will get five stars

Ad keep promt up and close, then every thing start over again and again

The start up screen keeps loading and then it either goes into indefinite loop or exits automatically for Samsung Note 9. Never happened before but this problem pops up after the mandate registration. Tried uninstall and reinstall many times but still does not work

The app is quite buggy but it gets the job done. I've seen worst TV streaming apps and this one is definitely at least an average.

Needs to upgrad too grequently and it is very annoying!!

Terrible app. Tvb you need to hire another it company to develop a new app. The current one always hangs and crashes after new update. And there's way too many ads. Dislike!

The first time I installed and opened this app, an advert came up which prevented me from accessing whatever this app could offer. There was no way to close the advert. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same advert came up. This app is a joke letting advert to take over. Avoid.

Too much ad for too long

I have not been able to view videos in Toronto as there is always a pop up indicating server problem, even after uninstalling and reinstalling!

Good app, quite stable, except quite a lot of ads, but it is understandable, the income from ads is to let business to keep running, that's why it is acceptable and still give them 5 stars rating

Annoying with frequent updates (more than once within a week) and won't let you use the App unless you update to the latest version.

Very slow in opening and loading up the News at the start of the App. Sometimes cannot start at all.

Everytime I rotate my phone during the live news, the app freaking closes. Like what the heck, I'm just trying to watch the news.

The app stop running 3 times per hour, had to reopen it again and again. Tried it on two different phones but problem persist.

Buggy as hell, but I learned to live with it. Now that 新聞台 is audio only for overseas, the app is getting closer to be worthless. I guess soon the 財經資信台 will become audio only too… That will be the sure way to stop users from using it.

it always suddenly stops and when I press it again, it says unfortunately tvb news has stopped . not a good app indeed... There are a lot of ads, not very good

Terrible UI design and Lots of bug. App keep crashing and close. Unable to use in any sense.

Uninstalled the app. theres so many ads that it makes its impossible to watch even 1 news story without being interrupted

I had spend my time at home, but quitly can't read cantonese words. how to convert in English version please. in tv program say that had mention its international news, but we dont understand. I had every morning watching news from tvb news. thank you!

Too many ads and the latest version often delays on opening new videos and articles and seems a bit unstable in working.

Very bad user experience. Very user unfriendly. Plus the news is biased and inaccurate.
