TweetCaster for Twitter

App was working fine but I had to delete app data to clear some space on my phone, as I've done dozens of times before. This time, when I tried to sign in, I was redirected not to the app and my settings, but to the app listing in a web version of the play store. Uninstalling and reinstalling hasn't helped. What's going on?

I've used this app for years! Used to be my fave! All of a sudden starting a few months back, there is a huge issue with viewing Pics, Gifs and Videos! It keeps saying 'failed to load data'. Super frustrating! I've tried clearing the cache and uninstalling/re-installing the app. Still the same thing. FIX THIS, ASAP!

I got this because I wanted to make use of the widget. It is functional, but perhaps the least developed part of the app. The widget often doesnt refresh successfully. Also, settings changes that you can make in the app (eg.whether images are shown full size or thunmbnail) don't translate into the widget. Real shame the same functionality doesnt apply equally.

SECOND UPDATE: After months, came back to try again to see if this issue was fixed and NOPE. Why would you fix a critical issue? Guess uninstalling again. —— UPDATE: Reinstalled the app to see if this got fixed and nope. It's a shame, what a great app but this BS makes it's unusable. — Every time you open the app, it pops back to the top and you have to scroll and scroll and scroll down to find the bookmark of where you left off, it's so frustrating that it makes the app unusable, deleted.

Completely unusable for me right now, it has been crashing constantly. If I were to guess, it has something to do with the ads as it seems the most stable after they have loaded. Then, when I try to do something, like read replies or look at someone's profile, it usually crashes again. added 1/30/19: it's been stable for the past few days, so I decided to bump the rating to 3 stars for now. If it remains stable a bit longer, I'll bump it up again.

6 months ago, this would have been a 4 star review (still can't figure out how to quote my own tweets to embed threads), but I now reduce it even further because it keeps crashing. I've tried the fixes I've found online, including granting all permissions, turning off battery optimization, and uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works, and it crashes so frequently, it renders it unusable. Shame, because while it isn't my favorite for content creation, it's the best for content consumption.

This is still my go-to app despite it being obnoxiously large (over 120 MB). But it's also buggy. It hasn't been updated in some time, yet it has issues that the developers should have caught on their own by now. For instance, when there is video attached to a tweet and I click to view on it, I get the audio but no video. Just a black screen. Please fix.

This app was fabulous. Sure there was an issue or two in the past, but the developers resolved it. But this time the issues are terribly frustrating. 1. Click on someone's tweet and there is a 15 second delay until it opens. 2. Look at an embedded picture or video, then leave and another 15 second delay, but with a black screen.

It messed up on us in January and they fixed it. I've been using this app since like 2012. Try and click on a link or a tweet and it's 4 years before the link opens - but usually it pops up a message saying Tweetcaster isn't responding, do you want to close it or keep wait another decade. The developers abandoned the app years ago and there hasn't been an update in literal years. I keep using it cause the setup is dope. But it'll be deleted if this doesn't speed up.

I want to rate it higher for all the nice features it has, but it has one fatal flaw: when looking through another person's timeline or likes, if you open a picture, the back button takes you back to their profile page instead of back to where you were on their timeline. It makes it very frustrating to navigate. Would rate 5 stars if this was fixed.

Latest update is a mess. I just updated for the first time since the ads were introduced and it's so annoying I may well uninstall. Despite what others report the timeline is still jittery when ads load. It's not good. I held off for a while because ads have become very intrusive of late and I was afraid it would spoil the experience further. It did. I understand you need to make thus work commercially but this isn't the way. Ads mixed in with tweets and badly implemented. Shame

Have used this app for YEARS, always has been my favorite UI for Twitter. Uninstalled it by mistake today when I was cleaning out other apps, reinstalled it and stuck in a permanent loop of not being able to sign in!!! Entered my login info after clicking on the plus sign in the app, clicked authorize app and it loads up a web page to the Play store and not into the app. I've tried everything and it WILL NOT LET ME LOG IN. FIX THIS ASAP!

I loved the app because of it's simplicity. Recently there have been some glitches. I get error messaged when I try to save pictures to my device, and the timeline doesn't always start where I left off. Other than that, it's still a decent app. I can still rock with it

Time line jumpy caused by ads. 2 pages of already read posts appear again. Pretty poor, plenty of updates since it began happening and not fixed. New update (11 Feb) claims to have fixed the problem but now, instead of time line jumping around randomly, it jumps to the most recent tweets, particularly after viewing media. 5 stars to 3 to 1 in a week. Shambles.

Notifications don't make any sense, you should be able to click it to open the tweet. Instead you get a context menu of everything but. Opening the pic of the tweet in the mention opens the default Twitter client instead (???). The themes are kinda bad, maybe make the colors user selectable. This isn't for me but may be useful for some.

Got new Galaxy and after reinstalling TweetCaster it longer works. I was directed to sign into Twitter and it said I would be taken back to this app. Nope - I was taken to web page. Signed into Twitter, reinstalled TweetCaster and still does not work. I'm uninstalling and returning to Twitter app. I noticed app has not been updated since February 2021. It should be removed from the Play Store if it's no longer supported. I wish there was a way to report non-functioning and unsupported apps.

App has stopped working. It gives me an error message stating that it can't connect to Twitter. No support online. I liked the app, have used it for years with few complaints, but I guess it's time to find another one. ETA: per response from the developer, they are looking for a solution. I hope it gets fixed, because it is the best Twitter app I've ever used. Edit 2: App has been updated and now it works again. Thank you to the developer for fixing it!

it's good but.. missing a few options. the feedback link doesn't work. standardization is needed in the context menus like how videos have different gestures and buttons compared to images. video popup has no volume control, it's confusing to see who reblogs who. zip is useful but can't see how to block or filter like the original app. it's confusing what to click to enter the Twitter of the people you see in your timeline. the context menu when you click on a tweet is incredible convoluted

Some time ago, I bought the pro version, which was a different install and listed separately on the Play store. Now that version doesn't show in a search of the play store. It hasn't been updated in some time. Now it looks like I'll have to install this version and purchase the pro upgrade AGAIN to have a current, working version of the app. Very disappointing.

I've been a Tweetcaster Pro user almost since it's beginning. It was great as a groundbreaker. But now it's showing the weight of its years -- all the same old, same old. And uncomfortable to use on a phone. Still a pleasure on my Mac, especially one-on-one messaging, but who carries around a desktop machine or even a portable mainly to use Twitter for messaging ... or anything else requiring Twitter? Some big changes are in order.

I still can't change my handle. But I'm waiting for "positive" change. I'm really excited to use this app if they can provide. If it turns out to be amazing, I'll consider the pro version. But until some bugs are fixed, imma stay with the free version. 50/50 worth it. Eh more like 40/60

Without a doubt the best twit app out there. The issue I'm having is that I am unable to open most pics, gifs or vids. It just shows the spooling circle like it's trying to open, so I have to open in a web browser which is just annoying. Please fix!

I just uploaded the new version. Sweet! Thank you VERY much for seeing to it so quickly. As always, your support people are great! While I'm here, I've noticed for some time that photos and videos don't always display / play when I tap them? Is there a setting I need to change to fix that? There was a time when it worked fine. Anyway, thanks again. I wasn't enjoying the search for a good alternative to Tweetcaster, because there isn't one. Now I can stop looking.

Often isn't loading attachments like pics or videos. Gets stuck when an attachment is shown and won't return to the feed. Tried an uninstall/reinstall and now it won't even let me log in. I log into Twitter, authorize Tweetcaster, and it brings me to the Play Store, but I already have the app installed. If I try to go back to Tweetcaster, I'm not logged in!

I've tried a lot of Twitter apps and this is my favorite. It holds my place. Has a lot of options (copy, retweet, retweet with comments, conversation, favorite, lots of options to handle links, easy to open, save & close images, & more), but at the same time is very easy to use. Highly recommended!

I liked the app, but there will appear an weird issue. Somehow, it begins to redirect me right through App Store interface and on the same page, where Tweetcaster was. After trying to link a new Twitter account with. Of course... showing another device connected from mine when pressing the Install button, despite not doing this at all. I have my own device, not anything else. Solve this problem. Please and thank you.

Update: I fixed this issue by manually granting permissions to the app. In Applications, tap Tweetcaster > Permissions. Once I granted permission, I could add the widget. Original: As many other reviewers, I've been using this app for years. Just got a Galaxy s10+ and cannot add the widget. It just disappears when I try to add it to the screen. If I can't use the widget, I may as well just use the Twitter app. I'm hopeful this will be fixed, but as of today, it's not.

Have been using since 2011. I have 2 accts (pers/bus). Recently started using personal acct again so I tried to add it so I could easily switch back n forth as I've done in the past. Id/pswd entered, click OK and takes me to where I can dwnld app. Ummm I already have it. I click to dwnld just in case and I can't (faulty site or something). Please fix this asap or I'm done.
