Twidere for Twitter

A good replacement for Tweetcaster, which I used for years but now won't install on my new phone. Simple, clear interface, no ads, fast, and useful facilities. The only downside is that update notifications don't work - I haven't had a single notification since installing. In fact, auto-update doesn't seem to work at all, but I'm not bothered about that as I'm happy to manually update on opening.

This app used to be the absolute best for Android, but I noticed I stopped receiving tweet notifications in a timely manner, despite all my settings being correct. I wouldn't get notifications until they all flooded in at once hours later. I switched to a brand new device and reinstalled the app, and the same thing is happening with this new phone, so it's definitely not an issue with my device or settings. :(

Great app for Twitter use--it's great for app customization features like font size, colors for different accounts and tabs, and more modular list control than the stock app provides. There's some hiccups, like threading not working the way it does in the stock app, but I understand that that's limitations placed on the app because it's third-party. Overall, it's been great for years, and with support being picked up again, I'm hoping to use it for years yet.

Potentially good app, but not good for OnePlus phones which utilize sliding the edge of the screen to go back. You need to slide the edge of the screen in order to slide out the menu, but when you slide the edge, you go back. *Edit - After looking around, there's a drawer toggle button you have to enable in the settings. *Edit 2 - Not that good of an app after using it for 30 minutes. Searching is terrible compared to the actual Twitter app. It also loads terribly.

generally a very nice app but it seems to have stopped connecting to my account and won't give me the chance to fix that. i keep getting "twidere could not authenticate you may need to sign in again" but I can't find where I would do that, so as of now it's just broken. googling the message didn't bring up a way to fix it either. if this keeps up I'll have to move to a different app =(

Keeps crashing again and again. App is now unusable. [CONS] Unstable. Loading issue. Cannot reply with multiple pictures. Not possible to copy/paste url and @user from the bio. [PRO] Let you choose wich account to use when opening a twitter link from an other app, multiple customizable Timelines, better list manager than the official app.

I really liked the app for a while. Great features, nice look, good performance. It's pretty good with multiple accounts unless you're searching for people to follow. It doesn't maintain the same account for multiple searches very well. The real problem is that it is not supporting my direct messages even a little.

I use this app to avoid ads and browse the timeline, I really want to like it... but it has some glaring problems: - Replies don't show up most of the time. This makes thread style tweets impossible to view. This is a big problem. - Media tab just doesn't work at all. - Polls don't show up and there's no indication that a tweet contains a poll. - Moments and other niche Twitter features are missing.

I had been using Twidere until a few months ago when it stopped working. Found that developers had stopped working on it. Had to switch to Owly and Plume - but they did not provide the same experience - especially with tweet threads that were retweeted. Very happy to see this resurrection as version 4.1.2. However an issue with liking tweets - see that developers already working on a fix. Will move to 5 stars when that is fixed. Update: as advised by the developer, a re-login fixes this. Thanks.

Until recently, this was the best Twitter app for Android. Open source, strictly chronological feed, no ads and good UI. Sadly, in late 2019 the developer has abandoned this app, i.e deleted it from the app store. At that time it also stopped working due to twitter API changes/API key issues. It would have been nice if the developer had pushed some last update that displayed an announcement before the retirement of this app.

Wow! Did my opinion ever change on this!... There are too many things here to list that I can't do on a normal Twitter client. It times out if I try to add a simple SMALL (76k) picture. It doesn't tell me when I get likes or responses!... kinda the point of twitter, wouldn't ya say?? Nor does it enable me to react with emojis or to see reactions from others... It LOOKS very nice, but it doesn't work very well.

"We fixed many bugs" And it still doesn't allow us to login. The Twitter login page claims the username / password is wrong even though the exact same combination works flawlessly in the official Twitter app. If you're serious about offering a paid product, a bit more care would have been nice. I'd recommend to just implement login with Google, unless that's only possible for the official Twitter app.

Since for some reason, I couldn't log back in on the official Twitter app, this has proven a great substitute. I find everything quite accessible and cod take some time to get used to, however I'm unable to see the notifications of others retweeting or liking my tweets. Other than that, the fact that you can save videos on the spot make it a great app.

I'm on a Pixel 2XL and I get many popups saying to restart or wait for the app. It's annoying and I noticed when I RT a tweet the app won't scroll until the "retweet" popup appears which can be a second or two. The delay is terrible. Are there recommended settings for load limit, cache size that can help with the issue or is it network connection?

Great app! The best customization I have ever seen. I only find the scale option for timeline media here, which shows all pictures in full without croping any of them. Just wonder is it possible to have a media only timeline? On iOS many apps are capable to do so, hope it is also possible on Android.

Works, but interface functionality lacking. You can't report tweets. Likes on your tweets don't show up in your notifications. Advanced search options can't be used. Can't display media directly in the feed. Can't see list of who liked a tweet.

For sure much much better than official Twitter app. Last Twitter updates caused the timeline scrolling terrible, I begun search for an alternative and tried this app - for free, it is an open source and found out, that I am satisfied with it. Scrolling the timeline is now smooth as a silk, no frustrations. I can now only recommend to use it. Twidere forever. Thanks, developers.

The default background in Dark Mode just changed with the latest update to be much darker. My eyes have trouble with it. The previous background was more of a dark grey that was very easy on the eyes. I can't find an option to put it back.

It's pretty good. I like the presentation, lots of customisation features. Big BUT ... Recently DMs are not coming thru, or getting sent. Can't yet figure out why, all relevant authorisations, nothing changed in the app settings. What happened??

Tweets seem to randomly stop loading after going back a few days on the main feed. Plus, the media tabs on people's profiles doesn't show any images. There also doesn't seem to be a way to block likes and retweets from showing up on the timeline or in lists.

Twidere has saved my battery life. The official Twitter app was draining my battery horribly. I thought i would give this app a try, the UI & customization options are amazing. The confirmation option for liking a tweet prevents accidental likes, so many great features. i love how if you dont finish a tweet, it auto saves as a draft, far superior to the official Twitter App.

A very slick, quick and satisfying to use app. It may lack some features like polls or embedded video and audio media, but it's fairly customizable and easy to handle. Long live Dimension.

The app is perfect. EXCEPT. The direct messages part doesn't work. Whenever I send a message it tells me the user doesn't exist. But I login using another client and the messages all went through.

Very beautiful useful software. One issue though, scrolling down to see olde tweets, after a point, the older tweets do not load up. Not matter how much you swipe up at the bottom to load older tweets you find that nothing happens

Not only is Twidere being regularly updated again, it seems, after a long period of wishing and hoping that one of the best third-party Twitter apps could be used without fear of obsolescence, but with the latest update, DMS. FINALLY. WORK. Five stars.
