Still, the app is extremely buggy. For example, often you can see that there is unread message in the channel, you open the channel, but there are no new messages. When you open it on the desktop, you can find that there's a message, but the app just does not show it. This bug persists for more than a year. The support recommends logout-login. It helps, but is a bit inconvenient to do it every time.
We have used twist for years but now Android users can't open PDF files that are saved within the program. Please fix asap!!!
I don't really see the benefit of this yet. I would love to move my international Discord teams over, but even with Discord ignoring requests for addition of basic functionality, Twist just isn't good enough to be a significant improvement. Twist has Teams in place of Servers, Channels in place of Categories, and Threads in place of Channels, so the fact that you can't move Messages in Discord is the same as being unable to move Comments on Twist. Twist works better but is more confusing.
I prefer an asynchronous way to communicate. Email is too messy with it's many threads. Twist serves the purpose nicely. My one wish is that there would be a built in video chat for those times when messages are not enough.
I have been using Twist for a few years, and the app has come a very long way! Notifications are consistent. The UI is very clean and easy to use. The only things preventing a 5 star rating is the bugs within the notifications. When I receive a message, I get a push notification and a bubble. Any attempt to reply or react causes the bubble to close. The push notification allows reading and replying but tapping it to enter the app causes the notification and the bubble to disappear.
An incredible app for enhanced team communications. There are a few characteristics that should be considered, like replying to specific messages, like we do in every other social media app. This can lead to more structure conversation. I'm excited to see what other amazing features you add to Twist!!
Mobile notifications do not work on Android. Desktop notifications don't ding or stay until you clear them. I disabled the battery optimization and allowed it to work in the background and it still doesn't work. None of my other apps require power saving to be turned off. The app is broken.
Awful. - notifications don't work (even after doing all that support suggested) - desktop version just gets frozen and you have to 'kill' it before you can switch between chats again - browser version just stopped loading on 11/25/2020 Our company switched from Slack expecting seamless performance from Twist. App is fine, but is not enough. Main goal of messengers is quick communication - instead we got complaints from all the team and endless switching between browser version/desktop and app
Built on a great premise, but fails to update messages without having to restart the app or even the device too frequently for me to give it 4 or 5 stars. And it's not my settings - I'm failing to get messages during my scheduled "on" times.
Ridiculously overcomplicated for something that should be so simple. Can't enter text on the web version. Colours on the app are so pale I just can't read them...need a dark mode. Very, very slow to update conversatiins whenever I log on. continually getting the Twist is not responding message. Sadly rest of my team want to use it or I would have deleted it by now.
the design & setup makes for a neat app, however, I'm part of a buy/sell group, & sales happen within minutes of listing...& I haven't gotten ANY notifications, which means I miss ALL sales. which is the whole point! I have my app settings set to send me mobile notifications for all threads & comments...but I never get any.
This has proven to be a decent communications tool for our organization. Not as constantly in-your-face as Slack, so if you need to be constantly poked, Slack is a better tool. For us, Twist is preferable because we need to work without forced interruptions, and we are disciplined enough to check the app periodically.
Excellent app! I would give it 5 stars if you could maximise the message window (hide/collapse the channels, other threads panes), and if they provided a capacity for "zero inbox" and hiding closed threads.

So much better organization of channels than Slack! Notifications are still a mess, randomly changing whom to notify every time I post a message. Need statuses and pins.
desktop and mobile apps are totally awful, chats that available in web version are not available, messages outdated. a complete mess. The worst when I'm trying to open the web version that works somehow it always says to use this crappy app, which is totally broken.
Its a good app UI needs a lot of updates if compared to slack though, One feature I badly want in this app is to tag the message to which we want to reply specifically. If added all people in my organization would be more happy.
Easy to use. Always works. Every once in a while notifications get delayed or don't show but it's rare.
2-12-19 Appears to have been fixed. App will now load on Android. I will try to update review after use of a few weeks. Original review from January 2019--DO NOT DOWNLOAD. all reviews for working versions are for older versions and models. i have a pixel 3 xl and just below here is the same review for a newer lg phone. DON'T DO IT!!!!
Could do with better push notifications for some conversations and an icon in the app icon to show if there are unread messages.
Very good application but notifications are not working, we tested messages between iis android and windows, no notifications arrive also after modifying notification settings
Twist is great for asynchronous team communication! I mostly use it on desktop, but the Android app is important to have and works well.
It's awesome to use in web browser but in android app there are some glitches like delay in notification and uploading files.
Twist is a great communication tool that allows the whole team to stay in the loop and serves as an archive for important conversations and resources.
This is mindblogging, when on webapp, I can attach file from onedrive business. But in mobile app, it says only can attach from onedrive personal.... Wth
The best performance only when we use twist on mac/laptop. Bug often happens when using in Android app.
Much much more efficient than Slack. As it's a thread first communication it keeps all the important messages or threads well organized and searchable.
Free is not really free. You should rename it to 30 day free trial because no one wants all of their effort be removed after 30 days without paying. FB Workplace, Microsoft and Notion and even Slack are still workable with their personal and small teams
It doesn't seem to want to download on my android phone my team is just starting to try and use this and many of our team members are having the same issue.... Any advice???
This app is so buggy, I use this app to communicate with my company, it has a TERRIBLE TIME updating as soon as someone sends me something. This is absolutely horrible because if my company is experiencing massive customer downtime I shouldn't have to wait 20 MINUTES for twist to refresh to see that I got a message 18 minutes ago from my coworker!! This goes for PC and Android. Over multiple updates and multiple months.
