I do like the game despite the commercial breaks. but the token system to play with friends is annoying. But most of all the amount of mobile data this app eats away. Datally shows 3 MB just for playing a word. There are songs that consume less data while streaming. This really needs to get sorted.
I was looking for a word game of a higher level, this is a good one. I can't stand the new online Scrabble since taken over by Facebook. Not on Facebook. Not as it was. I enjoy this and the different player versus robot options that seem to be targeted to different abilities. Only been playing a couple of days, I'm happy to be at the wordsmith robot third level (out of four), the hardest of all I'm yet to beat Susie Dent robot! It's a good word game for all abilities in my opinion.
Some clever twists on the classic anagram games, and voila, a fantastic app! You chose the right game to put your brand behind, Susie Dent. EDIT: The app doesn't always detect when I'm online, and pops up the "Oops! You're offline" error. Something for the developers to think about.
Excellent game for word game enthusiasts. The missing star is due to a technical problem (the app often decides I have no Internet connection when I most certainly have) and a couple of infuriating omissions in the UI: I'd like word scores in the history screen and on the play area for the word I'm playing against.
hey pretty much perfect casual game that stimulating and fun. I did have a hard crash and had to reinstall and paid for ads to be removed again. Edit: Once again, the game crashed and needs to be reinstalled, right after I bought 80 new games. Not going to reinstall it again.
The letters are clearly not picked randomly. There is an algorithm used to prevent you winning. I would have no objection if it was a fair selection, but it's not. I frequently get 3 letter O, 2U, Z, Y and a P, or similar.
Needs a way to turn the sound off. Also need notifications when it's your turn in another game. Otherwise pretty good, though I'm sure the Suzie bot cheats - only beaten her once! *Downgraded: way, WAY too many adverts, and you can't exit the game without crashing out
It's good. But if I have no in game sounds that should carry to the adverts. Can't play it while listening to music because the adverts take over the sound and stop the music. Irritating. Can't get tokens from watching adverts either. Just doesn't work
Decent game, but the free version is unusable now that the adverts can't be interrupted. "The quicker word game" isn't true when you have to watch a 40 second and after every move (or restart the app, which is marginally quicker)
I've only just found this game. Took a while to understand the scoring and I still don't know how to score if all your tiles are on top of other tiles. Also I'd like to be able to edit my profile. Can't find that. It could be a bit easier to navigate the site but the game itself is good fun, and quick to pass a few minutes.
Had it for a week then due to system crash lost access. Contacted the Two Words developer, got a response within the hour. Problem solved! Well worth the £2.99 cost which removes the adverts. Overall a well designed app.
crazy that there is no account to allow you to play paid for version across multiple devices. game itself is great. edit: telling me i have to use facebook login to get the functionality is really poor. i shouldn't have to use it to get the same access in an app i paid for!
Unsolicited noise (music to the masochistic) I thought I'd love this as I love words, Susie Dent & Countdown. Nuh uh a hellish racket confronted me which I couldn't find any way of turning off, no settings to opt for no racket. I can't keep the phone sound turned down so this had to go. Massive fail, no one wants the noise racket but still app designers persist in putting this s.h ! .t on apps.
Excellent game! I can play with my daughter (she uses her iPhone so, yes, you can play among different platforms) all day. Easy to find your real friends there. No ads! Love it. I would gladly pay to access an dictionary, describing the most recent words.
Enjoyable, simplified version of a Scrabble type game. Note to Devs: A bug has resulted in a 'frozen' game between my wife and I. Both our apps say it's the other's turn, and neither of us can resign from the game.
Great fun. Ads are a bit annoying but the game is fantastic. Easy to learn to use. A bit difficult to exit on my technology but might be different for others
A fun game you can leave and come back to later. Easy to play, and points are awarded immediately. Very straightforward. I have only played against the thesaurus so far, but it is addictive in a good way. The games are short, which I like.
Scrabble without the board to make it clumsy, a simple game that gets you thinking and allows you to play easily with friends. Only a couple of glitches around turn and score updates
There is good news and bad news about this game. The good news it is an enjoyable game. There is a big BUT. Once your tokens are gone you have to buy more you don't get any tokens when you win a game. However. If your opponent do not play more than 10 moves you will get your token back and if you opponent declines a game you get your token back. So I leave you with thought.
Good game but lost my first game/name when restarted my tablet. First time I played I was able to log on with Facebook without sharing my friends list, doesn't seem available now. Playing with unknown people means they may not respond or take a long time to react. Currently not able to delete these from games list.
Great word game. The in-game bots are challenging at higher than the first one. I wish the game had a link to an online dictionary because the SusieBot plays words I've never heard of! This did not surprise me (it's emulating Susie's mind boggling vocabulary) but I would like to learn the meanings as I play.
I really enjoy this game. I don't like that it forces you to play against another player initially. I only want to play against the bots. Also not fair that I have to start every game, should alternate between player and bot. But these are small.complaints and otherwise it is good.
Very annoying that your apponenents score is added to their total before their word is spelled out on the board. Also, no explanation of the meaning of the words available.
Fun concept but the interface is bad and buggy. AFAIK you can't freely choose your nickname. For a game named after a lexicographer you'd expect to see some definitions for the words in-game but nope, you're going to need a separate dictionary.
Sorry Susie. 😕 Love your books, love dictionary corner, but this game needs boundaries. No time limit, plus swapping tiles makes it : "a game of waiting for your opponent to min-max their answer..." It's a math game, not a word game. The intent is there, but a lot people won't play in the spirit you may have intended, and for me, it takes the enjoyment out.
Absolutely cracking game! Because there are only two words at a time this game can be played quite quickly. There's always plenty of players active and it's easy to get good rivalries going with friends and strangers. Great job!
Really entertaining game. I have only played against Thesaurus so far and will compete against another human in due course. The game, to my mind, is a mixture of Scrabble and Countdown without the ticking clock. Well done, Susie.
Really enjoyable game marred slightly by the tech. On android (using galaxy S10) I have to go to apps and force stop to exit the game. Without that, would be a comfortable 4 for a relaxing game without the razzle and noise of similar apps.
Usually good fun but had a bit of a glitch (it was saying it was opponent's turn and on my opponent's device it said it was my turn, so we were unable to finish our game).
It's OK. More random than scrabble, you're at the mercy of the letters. Quite a few people cheat. Plus the tokens used to play games even after you've paid for the app means I'll be uninstalling it. - Ads got quite annoying. - You can swap all your letters by watching a full ad, which seems a cheat. + Nice interface
