It could definitely be better, invest in yourself Texas. There is no way to log into your state park account, so I cannot use the app for my reservations, park passes, or anything I can online. The map feature needs alot of attention. It's pretty much a glorified informational app. Not even sure it will save my favorite parks after an update. Basically a waste of space on my phone... sad to say.

Good attempt, very easy to use, and contains a lot a information about the parks. It needs polishing though, I simply cannot get the maps to work, nor download the trails maps - it says I need an internet connection for the latter!! Now, when I select the MAP button it comes up with just a grid, and the pins indicating where the parks are...but no map. I am using Android 11, and the App appears to be using ESRI...why not use Google maps? I have seen on an off problems with ESRI in the past.

The only thing I don't like about this app is that when you use the map where the parks are pinned, it no longer shows the data of the state. So you can see where they are to where you are. It use to be a proper map but after an undate it changed and is not so nice and easy to use. Would love to see that fixed! Still waiting to see the map FIXED!

I used to use the app all the time to scout out my next adventure but recently I've been using it and when using the map, you can only see yourself and the pins of the Parks. No streets. No terrain. Just a tan background. The rest of the app works like normal but the vast parks out there and not able to see where they are located in reference to where I'm traveling is such a big inconvenience.

The app needs to work like the park guide book. We vacation by region, not alphabetically. It should be categorized this way. On the interactive map, all I get are the pins...no roads, no regions, just have to guess! This app is barely OK. An alphabetical list of parks is about as useful as a vacation guide to Europe that lists all the cities alphabetically, not within their country. There are 7 regions in the State Park guidebook for a reason. Categorize the app the same way, please!!!!!

Great for finding info about specific parks, but as others mentioned, they could be organized in multiple ways, including search. Biggest problem is that the Mapbox image layer doesn't load under the pin map; it does the same on my wife's Android. It actually did load the map on my previous phone, older by 2.5 years, but why?

I am a big supporter for TX State Parks. Got pass every single year. My kids love traveling to different state parks. This app used to be part of my trip planning resource but for some reason, the map is no longer showing on my Android phone. I can see all the pins but not the underlying map showing where the pins are. It makes the map quite useless for my purpose ...... Please fix it soon.

The map doesn't display when trying to see which parks are near. It is just a blank screen with a lot of unlabeled pins. Others have reported the same. I don't understand why it isn't fixed yet. Oklahoma's map display search works.

So far the app seems okay. Except for the fact that the map never loads. It shows the pins but, you can't see where in Texas the park is located. Also, I am a pass holder and it would be nice to be able to sign in on the app to make reservations and plan trips.

Not sure if this is a new app or not, but it has some bugs. It won't let me download trail maps saying it needs an internet connection. My phone is connected via WiFi.

Hard to negotiate. Gotta search, page, page .... to find what you want. Menu is LIMITED, even for a park pass holder. Reservations ask for my information EVERY TIME. SLOW TO RESPOND. I bought a pass last year (2020) and of course, it was barely used due to the Plandemic. I'll buy another because it helps to sustain our park system.

I love the filters to help me find the park amenities I want! Its easy to use and has beautiful photos of each park. I would like to see a link to online reservations. Also, a filter for area or region of Texas would be helpful.

The app is useful, but the map is hard to read since it's just a blank page with spots where the parks are. I think there is supposed to be underlying details like the state outline and major highways, but this information is not visible.

Can't find my reservations. This seems like a basic app request, but I have to go though the website. 2022- still can't find my reservations in the app. New- getting an email reminder.

I've been using this app for a year now. And at first it worked great. Now, all of a sudden, the map doesn't want to work. All you see is a bunch on pins on a blank screen. You can still locate yourself, which is good. But makes it very hard to plan a visit to a park. Very disappointing. Needs to be fixed.

Reservations are straight forward. The map of all of the parks is just unusable. There is no state boundary. If you enlarge the map there are park names unless you pick a pin. My suggestion would be to show park names when you enlarge the state map.

I find it fascinating when an app has an obvious, significant problem (overview map not loading the base map tiles) for months and months and yet it never gets fixed. Really, it should never have happened in the first place: do the developers not do any regression testing? And do they never check the reviews to see if there's some weird corner case they missed? Or do they just not care? This is not rocket science, people.

Basically an app for a list of all parks and natural areas in the state. Not useful at all. It's easier to go online, at least there you are actually able to search and have a working map.

Joe. W. Dec 10, 2020

This app was great until I upgraded to a Note20 ultra from a Galaxy 7. Map only shows pins just as users have been telling you since at least December of last year. Sounds like someone dropped the ball and didn't keep up with compatibility.

rta. Mar 3, 2020

Map does not load anything but the points of the state parks. It doesnt show roads or anything in the background. I have emailed the developer 2 times with no response. Dont waste your time, just use the website.

M. S. Jan 20, 2019

App is not updated with timely information for each park. It basically has broad info. and some long term Park issues listed but is worthless for much else. Parks staff needs ability and mandate to update each one as conditions or events arise.

Als. A. May 15, 2022

App broken. Maps don't work, navigation in the app isnt user friendly. No way to really search for what you want. Why would you bother uploading this useless junk just to add more tash to the play store and frustrate people?

Jer. E. Jan 19, 2020

Latest update has taken the map function away on android... let me be clear, the map function is still there - there's just no map behind the pins for parks... This update was actually a regression, unfortunately.

Joa. A. S. Jun 5, 2021

It would be better if it could locate your position and show near by parks. It should access your account so you can pull up your reservations and also allow you to make reservations without having to go to the website.

Sof. Apr 22, 2021

Nice list but not very helpful when you have to go outside the app to see how far the parks are...the map is in desperate need of updates/ bug fixes. Deleting.

Ste. D. Jun 27, 2021

It's okay. They could really be updated. Maps often tell you no wifi connection and will not allow download. This has been this way for 5 years now, and had wifi for all 5 years. Lol
