I am very pleased with how the app works and looks. Clean minimalist design, and very easy to use. The only thing I'd like to point out is this: once you save the file the edit mode doesn't let you select text, tried every way possible, it doesn't select any text whatsoever, it only displays the cursor which you can move around. It would be a very nice addition to be able to select text once the file is saved and edit mode is entered again.

Pretty good, but shortcomings include: (1) Select All feature only available in edit mode. I would like to be able to select/copy all text without entering edit mode. It's an unnecessary step. (2) Can only access options such as font settings when opening the app directly. Cannot access these options when opening the app by selecting a text file.

Close to perfect. One flaw got fixed in the new version. Thanks guys. I use it all the time but back up the text files when I can. Using swype on my phone, I can write chapters for my book anywhere. Handy. The delete button in the old version was right beside the save button (yikes!) I lost a whole wall of stuff because the file was deleted with no confirm and no undo. The file was GONE. Never to be seen again. Aaarrrggghhh! I will check the 'confirm on delete' feature. Hope it's there :)

Good looking app. Unfortunately I think there are still some bugs in it. My keyboard is set to automatically capitalise the first word in each sentence, but that doesn't work inside txtpad. Txtpad doesn't seem to be able to access the SD card. Autosave didn't work for me, and double-pressing the back button deleted my changes.

It is ok. On the plus side the (new?) "copy file" feature is good because it may be used to make a backup copy. As others mention having sub folders would be an improvement. Also personally I would say a find within file feature would be helpfull; as would a search feature for all files. I have come across a problem of not being able to paste external text in to txtpad, (in edit mode and keyboard typing ok) whilst knowing same text will succesfully paste in to other apps. (unable to reproduce)

Finally a true ".txt" file editor! I would pay for this. It works just fine on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0. I use it to edit and create files on my Google One drive. Was going to switch to a Microsoft Surface as this is a critical feature for me but now one of the new Samsung tablets is in my future. Only issue, why does it require permission to access photos and media? Files, yes.

The app is fine, and I like the feature that allows you to choose where to store the txt files, but I wished I could store them on my sd card instead of internal storage. It would also be nice if we could have more options when it comes to sorting the files. Another problem is that the app automatically scrolls down to the end when you choose to edit a file, which is annoying. It also sends you to the top and removes your ability to copy, paste and cut if you edit a file 2 times in a row.

MISLEADING. Does not really save files as .txt files. When you save the file, it does LOOK like a .txt file as it has the notepad icon and it says ".txt" in the title of the file; but you can make any file look like that. It is the Russian Off-brand version of Google's QuickMemo+. It just looks different! When you plug your phone into a computer, the file you made does not appear at all. Just an empty txtpad folder. Exactly the same as QuickMemo+ defeating the purpose of a .txt files app!

Why 2 stars? Autosave nolonger works. Just lost a bunch of writing. Autosave is on. Went back to a doc after checking some info online for a while and app was accidentally closed and lost work that was a few hours old. The App used to seem really good. It's frustrating losing so much. The benefit of this over the other notepad on android is this one you can save your txt files. This I think is the second time of no autosave. It's a good app, just can't have the risk of losing so much writing.

This is exactly what I wanted: a replacement for the default android notes app which saves each note as a txt file. The reason this was so important to me is because I synchronize my notes between my PC and my phone, and txt is an extremely simple and widely supported format. Most notes apps save to a DB file which I would then have to convert into a file type I could put in my PC notes app. This is so much easier.

I'm facing an issue where if I jump to another app while writing something, when I come back it saves my changes in different files. I just realised I now have more than 20 different files of the same text, and the app doesn't let you select more than one to delete at the same time. That's pretty annoying.

This is probably one of the most useful apps I used in order to improve my experience with modding games on mobile. I would like if we could have a specific folder it automatically saves to so we can speed up the process because I have to copy, delete, paste, edit, save, move, test, repeat and this will remove the moving part. Anyways great app!

It used to be that when i copy and paste from one document, it would paste with the spaces in place, but now when doing so it removes all line breaks and makes it one block. Annoying having to go thru and re input all the line seperations, its a small thing but EXTREMELY unnecessary and annoying. Please change this back to how it was. The only reason for using this app for so long was that it just simply took notes well, keep it simple and dont change what works.

your UI does not tile properly at the bottom, it hides the last thing at the bottom where the options could be at the top so or at the very least make not sink into the options. it makes the last note i made impossible to re-title from the app

Quickest way to send files to your computer! So my old phone uses LG quick memo+ which has no export options, and cant not save to my Samsung Notes to my new phone. I have passwords and private information that i keep locked that i need to transfer. This app creates a new folder in your phone that can easily be navigated on computer. This way it lets me save my notes without exposing my data to the internet.

Great I needed to create a txt file and di some ADB commands so that I can easily copy and paste in powershell on my Windows 10 laptop. This work great. All I need to do was to connect my phone to the pc, then navigate to the folder with the file, open the file and then copy and paste the commands for my phone. How simple is that. Great app for I needed it for.

I was surprised to that I could not even view text files on my Android device. So I searched for an app. This one look like it would work for text files. Shockingly, it locks itself into a certain folder and will not let you navigate and find files in other folders...

Support for subdirectories would be nice. Auto Save is broken.. it makes a new file with a new filename multiple times a minute. Plus watching the video may not remove ads. It does do this: creates .txt files and gives an option to save wherever you want.

Phi. W. Jan 14, 2021

The app creates a new save file everytime you minimize it. Type a sentence, minimize, new save file created with the paragraph you just wrote. And so on. I don't want my phone taken up with a hundred text files i have to delete.

Mic. S. Apr 4, 2020

it worked great for a while but then it would buffer (forever) instead of opening the file. i think it does this after folder has many files in it -- rhen it has trouble. but, if i recall, it just gets stuck like that if i open the app 5 then pick a file to open but... if i select a file via a file browser then choose this app as the one with which to open the file, it will open it

Would have been great if you could use the search-in-text feature—the most basic of actions for ANY file with text in it—WITHOUT buying an upgrade with real money. So stupid, what a waste of an otherwise-great app…. I would give this five stars if this feature were not blocked by a purchase.

Dar. E. Nov 24, 2018

it is a great text editor application, readability (in the font I made in another program and installed) is great! can read formatted .text perfectly well have not tried it with other formats like PDF rtf or such but still I am very satisfied with this program I like the fact that it is fairly small compact and lightweight if it came with some sort of a spell checker I would be in bliss.

Ads are creating an access block to entries. Sometimes there is an overflow bug that prevents operation outside the app, ie copy for paste text in YouTube, web browser, etc. Fix that and it's five stars all the way! 😊

Great simple tiny tool! Clean minimalist design, with all you need. It's a must-have for every Android device! Just bought ad-free version. Thanks for that!

Jas. W. Mar 30, 2022

I wanted to move video game concepts to a USB drive but I found no way how. Then this app came along and it worked perfectly! This allowed me to send the files over and make it sooooooo much easier!

Simple nice apps for txt files, suggestions: #1 Able to change the path of apps, #2 Able to save setting display by listing instead of Icons. #3 Having a graphic way to go up directory instead of using back feature from android. Otherwise it's simple and nice

Jus. m. Apr 23, 2021

Nice for setting up path to text folders. Finger pattern unlock for notes. NEEDS: 1) option in SETTINGS to list all files in path folders, so we can see MARKDOWN files (.md .markdown), .bat .rtf etc. 2) preview mode for MARKDOWN files

I believe this notepad should save to the SD card, but my Samsung phone won't let it. Samsung OS eats so much internal storage I need to save to card. Otherwise, nice small simple app.

Extremely good and exactly what I expected This app functions very well. The only thing I would like to see next is split screen compatability.
