Type and Speak

My seizures took my ability to speak to my 5 year old little girl. This app has made it so I could find a way to speak to her. To find an app that not only can give you that gift, and they do it at no charge makes my heart just believe there are still people who care. Thank you, and if I could give you more stars I would.

It's helpful bc I'm sick and I can't talk so it hurts my throat it's better than paper and pencil but there is this pop up every time I'm about to type it says something like to finish this and the u pick something EVERY TIME it's very annoying plz fix it thx

A lot of other people talk about how this app has helped them to communicate with other people if they/ the other person can't speak, but I love this app because ever since I found it it's become a sort of inside joke between me and my friends. It's hilarious, but also incredibly practical. A great app all around. :)

This application helped me recently make it through a very serious medical time when I was not able to talk, due to a peritonsillar abcess, on my own but was perfectly timed to assist me in speaking with medical professionals concerning my unique emergency condition. Thank you so much for this application. Dr.s and RN's were stunned (and loved) how I was able to use an application for my speech, seperate from pen & paper. Thank you for making sure my voice was not taken away by illness, very helpful app.

This app is widely praised and i see why. Its amazing it can help people who cant speak or choose not to. I love the features it offers but one thing i liked the most was i found it just in time for a day of silence to represent the people who dont speak up about bullying. If this app was ant better id be blown away. Other then the voices being limited it offers more then all the other apps with the same functions.

Type and Speak provides a text box for you to type in, then you can control speech through play, stop, rewind, and fast-forward buttons. There are options to change the pitch, speed, font size, and enable it to start speaking while typing. You can save speech output as audio files. The app alerts you that the file is saved as well as gives you the option to share the file. It also translated "Hello my name is Phone" text into Spanish (speech output). It only took me a few minutes to get this app downloaded, started, and speaking.

I have a neurological voice disorder called adductor spasmodic dysphonia. The muscles in my vocal chords spasm and choke off the sound intermittently, so it can be really hard for people to understand me. Especially if the place is noisy because I can't speak up over the sound and can't talk loudly. This app is my savior! I can save things that I've typed, such as an explanation as to why I'm using the phone to talk for me and don't have to retype it every time I need it. Thank you so much for this app.

I'm working with my nonverbal niece. It seems no one notice she could read, since they have been using only picture cards. I found your app downloaded it. It's made great changes in her life communicating at home and when we are out.

This app comes in very handy during times when I get sick and lose my voice. It's easy to set up and use. Family members liked it so much, they downloaded it to their phones for future use. Would like it if it sounded less mechanical, but other than that, a terrific app to have in your phone.

It should have a choice in gender. Plus it would be nice if the pitch actually worked. Sometimes it reads the last sentence first and nobody has any clue what your trying to say. Better than nothing, but 3 stars is a kind review, with only 2 adjustments that dont seem to work...

This app was really helpful and great until, it stopped saving, yes. I am having problems with the saving. After texting stuff, Whenever I try to save nothing happens like it shows a thingy like 'saving to the SD card' or stuff like that but it didn't show, then I pressed the save button again, and it said that the file already exists, yeah the file actually does exists but its empty. Pls help me.

I use this app all day, everyday to communicate because I can't talk. This app works great for mainly two key reasons: it has a large text box and a simple, clean looking UI. These two features are very important for those that can't talk because we're often in situations where we need to have the other person read what we've typed instead of pressing speak. For those instances, it really helps to have a large text box, and for the app to avoid using colors that would distract the other person, like you see with some of the other TTS apps. However, this app needs two things changed. First, it simply needs an update just so we'll know it hasn't be abandoned, as it hasn't been updated since 2012. Secondly, with the new Samsung Galaxy S8, this app doesn't get support the new display ratio. I'd gladly be willing to pay for an updated version of this app...

This is one of the best most useful ups i have downloaded i use it every day. Voices are clear and it doesn't sound so much as a robot as other applications do. Also you can slow it down, Erich i don't use, but you can speed it up which i use very often it reads faster than i do and it's very clear at a fast speed enjoy!

I just had my tonsils taken out, I am 18, so the recovery time is much longer and much more painful than it would be for a child. So eating, drinking, and especially talking is entirety too painful to do. I had a white board but its slower to write it all on a white board than it is to type, also its easier for people to understand me with the app. Only problem I have is that when you set it to a dialect it changes back to the original settings. Other than that, its a great app

This is great. But, i found two the annoying thing. The first is, after you click to speak, the cursor go to the beginning of the text, so we need to tap the text again to make some correction. What i want is, cursor stay in its position, so we can directly tap keyboard after speak, to make correction. Second is, when we click clear text, there is two option again, cancel and clear. It would be good if its directly clear the text, no more cancel option

Its straight to the point. I copy paste web novel chapters on this to read as I do other stuff and i like how simple it is. I can change the pitch, speed, and accent as I please and it can play in the background while my phone is on sleep mode too. My only problem is that saving doesn't do anything. I clicked it and something saved but nothing opens the save file so idk how that works...

Freezes way too much. I have a faily new phone, completely updated, so it wouldn't be freezing so much unless there was something wrong with the app. It does come in handly because im sick and lost my voice though. Im thankful for that. But if I try to say something longer than a sentence, it freezes.

I believe this app is awesome! It's funny to mess around with and yeah. Although the text's voice should be able to be changed into like a robot or helium, you know, to make it funnier. This is my favorite miscellaneous app, so for you people out there who haven't tried it yet, GET THIS! It's fun, although one more thought: Put a text voice changer that can change to anything you can put on. Thanks! Once again, best fun random app EVA!

It is bad because you are trying to turn up the pitch or speed and it's glitching out I accidentally changed the language and now I can't change it back it's an absolute waste of time please don't get it there's no point

This app is terrible! Do not download! I have installed and Uninstalled thus app so many times but it does not fix that every time I click to go on this app it says " Unfortunentally Type and speak has stoped" do not download it's just a waste if time!,':(

Love this, have been using it for about 3 or more years now i think. Wouldnt use any other. Sumple, does the trick, and you can save your speach. Love it. If i could make a suggestion that i would ABSOLUTELY love to have, add some effects PLEEEEASE! Like a robotic or droid, and echo too. Please please.

For anybody trying to extend their vocabulary and their understanding of spelling and how adding just one letter can change the sound of what you're spelling great for creating and being creative making up your own words as far as logos business names it can help you do all this it is unimaginable how useful this app is. With this app there are lot of possibilities and potential as far as education is concerned I give this app 10 Stars if I could

My throat was hurting really bad that it hurt to talk, so I got this app and it did all the talking for me. I would've given it five stars but it sounds like a robot talking. They should make it sound more human.
