Typefree - record & transcribe audio
(Note: Only works for English)
Typefree is an app with which you can both record and transcribe speech. You can also import already recorded audio or video files transcribe them using the app.
Afterwards you can playback the audio, edit the transcript and then share both to wherever you want.
No internet connection is necessary at any point. There's no limit to how many files you can transcribe. None of the audio or transcript is shared with anyone unless you want it to be!

Great product here that can record accurately and export near 80% audio+text combined. Please fix these: (1) include a keyboard to enable the user intervene when needing to insert text, coma, full-stop, question mark or do any other thing at the active window while recording is in progress, (2) Make room to pause and continue, add to, move back and forth between different audio files, (3) Add functionality for background recognition, so that the user can record while completing other task.
I give 5 stars because it's the ONLY free app that TRANSCRIBES & RECORDS voices from other apps simultaneously. Accurate, simple design, adds non invasive. I get a bit confused when saving file and pausing recording. Would love to see this app stay!
works reliably. transcribe needs only small amount of correction. parallel audio recording helps to correct transcribe. please continue evolving this great tool!
Has worked a bit with a very slow transcription. It freezes after about 10 second.
Excellent ASR engine. Very accurate. A bit laggy when saving the transcript but totally worth it.
It's promising but crashes within the minute saving none of the transcribed text.
I recorded something critical on it. It crashes every time I open it. I am so stressed.
I am so glad I tested this before my conference next month app kept closing and wanted me to restart all over again... transcription is not always accurate

FINALLY! A speech-to-text app that KEEPS the audio recording! Anytime this app makes a mistake, I can easily go back and listen to what I said, and it even keeps track of where in the audio each word was transcribed. Its import feature for pre-existing audio files works great, too (even if it takes a few minutes). I've only just started using this app, I haven't found a single other free and simple tool on this store that does this well.
