Application is easy but their software is super slow. US Bank software, it's always behind. I have to account for my own checking account because US Bank can NOT keep up with me. I spend very little money. Anyway, customer service is okay at Ontario, OR but the data system itself can be rather slow. Overall, not the application at fault. I would rather bank elsewhere.
Overall I'm very happy with this app. The convenience is great. The only reservation I have is that when making payments or transfers to my other accounts the submit button does not always work. It requires pressing the buttons more than once. Ironically, the app warns you that pressing more than once could cause multiple payments/transfers. So far this has not happened to me. Easy Peasy! Sweet! U S Bank, rocks!
I've used the app only for wire transfers. Good intention, poor implementation. It's annoying to use and unreliable to the point of unusable sometimes. - seems the back-end service is unavailable sometimes, esp. on weekends - doesn't support landscape mode => one-finger typing required - forgets a "saved" recipient I've used many times. - superfluous prompt for the source account: I have only 1 eligible. - froze on the last screen with the confirmation to send, so I had to start over.
Clunky and not fully ready for prime time. Can't read check endorsement 60% of the time while making deposits. Can't actually set alerts or notifications through the app. When I tried contacting US Bank they didn't understand what I was saying and didn't admit to there being an issue with their product. Frustrating to say the least. I hate Bank of America but their mobile banking app is far superior.
Basically does what it needs to do. Layout and navigation is improved over earlier versions. My biggest gripe, with US Bank remote banking is an ongoing issue which has existed for the entire decade that I have banked with them. Mainly the frequency with which one attempts to do something online, only to be told "sorry that feature is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
I do like this app and it's very convenient. But sometimes the balances are confusing as to what's really in my account, what has gone though and dates are inaccurate. I have a bill that automatically comes out every month at the same time but I don't see it for a few days...but, later it WILL show up as the day that it was supposed to be processed. It's confusing and misleading.
I used to be content with the app, but recently it refuses to load Account Details when I tap on it, same with transfers, and it makes me close out the app because it freezes on the loading screen. Just before trying to view details I was able to make payments just fine, so it isn't a connection issue. It's upsetting because I'm unable to view pending payments and see what the real amount I have on my cards is.
I use this mainly for depositing checks. Works great and saves me a trip. Edit: the app had issues today and could not see my endorsement on the back of the check. It was plainly visible on the picture. I tried reshooting 3x with the same result and error message. Came back 2 hours later and it worked. First time this has happened.
Easy, safe, and convient. The app is super easy to use for account balances, transfer money between accounts, get statements, and view routing and account info. I never have to worry about my account being compromised with this app, and I have the option to sign in using fingerprint instead of typing a password.
Mobile app lacks standard features that are available on the full website, such as the ability to view and manage external transfers. In addition, your account will be locked for 24 hours without explanation (other than "there is a problem on our end") if you attempt to log into the app while connected to a VPN (I use one for work). Lastly, this is not specific to the app, but US Bank needs a paid expedited external transfer option like Wells Fargo has - 3 business days is often too long.
The build of the app is good, the response of the app is great. The bad is if you don't know your way around it's easy to get lost in the app. NEEDS ATTENTION: The balance on the app does not match the website and is very misleading. I incurred some overdraft fees because I wasn't aware the app was wrong. Even with me overdrafted it shows me positive with the website showing me negative. Please fix this. Make sure balances match
The whole purpose of an app is quick access. That's kind of impossible when the app won't save passwords or recognize fingerprints. The fingerprint scanner works for literally every other app. Not worth having. If I have to type in my password everytime than I'd rather just use a computer.
After the last update, I'm no longer receiving push notifications from the app, most importantly to my banking needs, notifications regarding transactions. I've tried everything in my phone settings along with notification settings within the app. I'm no longer receiving notifications in my status bar and I'm rather frustrated!
Have been using the banking app since I've been with US Bank and honestly it's been an amazing tool. People have complained about issues but I haven't found one that I couldn't fix by simply restarting the app, although these issues were quite rare. The interface makes sense and everything about the app seems to show that a certain level of care was taken to make it be as good as it is. So overall 5 stars!
I use the app mostly to deposit checks. I prefer the computer except for a quick spot check of balance or a specific transaction. I am really disappointed that this app no longer works in Opera Browser. Now it occasionally works in Opera in private window. But doesn't work consistently on computer or phone. It has me wondering if I should switch banks since they closed the branch half a mile from my home, and the online service is hit and miss.
Worst bank app of them all. Currently cannot edit or remove autopayments. Randomly removes biometric authentication, password is erased, then doesn't work, locks you out and tells you that you can't reset to the current password. That's with the password showing, so there's no mistake. Bugs galore, even on their website. It's such a mess, I can't even imagine the backdoors that are probably open. My money feels so safe.
App almost always has trouble with mobile deposits. Usually have to screw around with closer, further, flash, no flash, take it myself, re-take it. Online, scrolling thru screen after screen of little product and service ads to get to detail is maddening. Almost as bad as going into a branch. After closing credit card account, it still shows in dashboard with zero credit available.
Essential app for quick payments 👍 Update 4/15/22 App could use some improvement. When skipping a recurring payment, the next payment (and all future payments) will be paid a day earlier 😕 Overall, the app is not very intuitive, finding the right section is usually a little trial and error. eg scheduled transactions: find it under Send Money - nope it's under Activity...
First, this is set up for a cell phone only. It shows a small screen, not what you want on a computer or tablet. It's hard to read, especially for those with some vision problems. Basically, it needs to go through user testing and it does not appear that it has. Second, it is difficult to figure out how to make payments. Once again, the user interface team is lacking. I regularly spend about twice as long in this app as I should have to.
I signed up for purchase notifications (from the very beginning of making this account) for any purchase made. Seems like with the last few updates, I'm not getting the push notifications for purchases and I'm getting quite frustrated as this particular feature gives me peace of mind with all purchases I make. Checked the app to make sure I'm still signed up to get push notifications and I am. Not getting them anymore. Issues with changed email address as well.
Fingerprint wouldn't recognize so it locked my account and trying to reset my password has resulted in over 30 minutes of frustration and no access to my account. Original Overall great with everything you need. The credit card deals where you select merchants is buggy. When I did make purchases at a participating vendor the merchant name showed as something else on the transaction and I didn't get the reward.
It's easy to maneuver through. The bad thing that's I can't see my credit union acct. It keeps hanging up and I'm told that I should uninstall then reinstall the app "sometimes" that fixes it. Or it could be an issue from the CU side. Other than that, I haven't had any problems or issues with the app thus far.
Update - The reliability and functionality of the app has been improved and it is working well!Thank you US Bank. The US Bank Zelle app is very funky. Had problems constantly with payments being posted through the system. Nobody could give me a straight answer call about six times. We called Zelle directly the experience was worse. It may save money but they have a long way to go before it's actually a comfortable ride. Zelle still very confusing + CLUNKY!
By far the least favorite of the 3 banks I use. Billpay is horrid, with slow payment times, and no ability to show ledger balance like we would in a basic checkbook register (cash minus scheduled payments). Functionality issues are too common (can't do app deposits), and all worse due to them often saying how great the "improvements" are while the age-old frustrations remain. Add 4/25/2022: Also sometimes app only gives 1 of 2 accounts to "choose" for the "deposit to" with no reason why.
First, I'm fully aware I can disable them. Don't bother explaining that. I'm rating on principle. Moving on, years I've had this app. It's don't convenient things like notify me when a purchase was made or a payment was due. Now I'm getting daily notifications for extra services. I'm getting ads. This has automatically earned a single star rating, despite how much I like US Bank and it's services. Do not force me to op out. Ask me to opt in. Otherwise I'm just a product to get more money from
As a US Bank customer, this app is essential to all your banking needs. The app is clear and concise and functions extremely well and exactly as intended. I pay multiple bills, keep an eye on my transactions and work on building my savings. I can make changes quick and easy and with a quick sign in, seeing all my accounts eases any anxiety about my finances in seconds. Highly recommend!
