The lock hardware is nice, seems robust enough for a residential lock. I'm not a fan of the magnetic door position sensor, it fails to trigger when the door is opened 60% of the time, so then it relocks after the set time period, very annoying. I've reset the position sensor several times. The app is just ok. It is very slow on both WiFi and Bluetooth. Sometimes I can't get my logs nor user list to load from within my house. Forget trying to connect remotely. Alexa integration is minimalistc.

Do not switch phones! You will lose your lock even though it's registered to your account. Even if you delete it from your old phone and successfully add it to your new one, it will remove it's self because it's registered to you.. confused yet? They have a process on their website that requires you contact support and prove it's yours by providing your receipt... I'll just throw this thing away because it shouldn't be this difficult. Very good hardware!

I like the locks so far and havent had any issue, but I'm just going to review the app here. There are three things that I feel really hurts the user experience 1. When I log in and see my locks on the screen it doesn't tell me if they are locked or not. I have to go into each one. 2. There are no widgets. Again have to go in to the app and each lock to have piece of mind that it's working. 3. Time to connect to locks via wifi is painful...sometimes even 5 minutes if it connects at all.

Can't figure out how to change the phone number it uses for messaging. The one listed in the app is my home phone and can't receive messages. This makes the app basically useless. Strange that the online account info shows the correct mobile phone, but it seems that the online info and app don't sync the user account info.

After software update the lock had 99 problems. Not recognizing fingerprints or app.. MASSIVE FAIL unit bricked !! 😔 UTEC responded relatively quickly through email. ( Did not return phone calls though) Mailed out the 2.0 version of the UTech pro . The warranty part set up and connected well, only took minutes. The app is still slow and clunky despite being on a 500 MB gaming connection using the bridge 5 ft away. Hope this one lasts, definitely love it when it works. 😏😏

Yikes! Mine works fine..I see lots of complaints. I have only had issues 2x since installing mine several months ago. I just bought 2 more as gifts. The issues I had were one time the server was offline, but they let us know and it wasn't actually an issue, I could still get in. The other issue was 1x I tried connecting to let my mom in my house & it WOULD NOT connect. Since then, I gave her her own password and she can get in just fine now and have had no other issues. My bf uses it a lot np.

Not good for airbnb until the bugs are worked out. Everytime I go to change the codes it just keeps saying timed out or won't exist loading circles. Even with high speed wifi and closing the app out completely and opening it again. I will update my review if this changes.

Buggy and takes too long to connect. I tried to turn on the "autolock" feature but the app waiting wheel just spins and spins. If I try to turn the feature on it just says "operation failed" and kicks me out. Pretty annoyed with the app.

The locks work fine once initially programmed but I've since been unable to get the app to modify/delete or add codes. It connects to unlock and lock via the app but everything else leaves a spinner that goes on until it times out

Alexa stopped working as of March 22, 2022. IFTTT trigger still doesn't work. I rebooted reset and did everything I can think of. Bridge says it's active. I have the Ubolt pro wifi. Left a message for customer service. Hope they fix this soon as it is utterly useless without Alexa and IFTTT Integration.

App is pretty slow to connect to the lock. Auto unlock feature does not work properly despite seeing the Auto Unlock Service appearing on my phone. Often it will auto unlock 10 minutes after I have entered the house and locked the door already, causing me to have to lock the door a second time. Support and FAQ have been unable to resolve the issue. Was told to wait for v1.8 that supposedly will resolve Auto Unlock issues. Pretty disappointed.

So much for better stability 🙄. Their server equipment is no good! Stupid u tec company! Their support people don't take ideas seriously. Otherwise you would've seen it by now. It's quite odd how when you lock by alexa you do not hear the lock cylinder beep such as when you do it from the app and change the lock mode from settings. Can't lock thru Alexa 🤔 🧠 💭 ☝ 🙂! Possibly from no door LOCKING 😡 🤬! You also can't restrict access to any specific users like the screenshot displays 😡 🤬!

App times out when I try to update users. Also to submit an issue you have to provide so much purchase details from serial number, when and where you bought it. It is an hour assignment every time you need to find a solution to their problems with their product. Do not recommend.

Remote access is unpredictable and unstable. Works great while on local network/or with Bluetooth - but that is not why I purchased the lock.

Good product. Easy to use. Some enhancements would be useful. The app is limited to 2 fingerprints per user. It'd be great to add a schedule for the auto close feature. That would enable the auto close only during certain times. It would be good to expand to at least 4 in order to have two right and left index fingerprints. I found that two prints of the same finger is more reliable.

App works well but a bit slow to connect at times. It is linked to Alexa and works well. I see why so many complain about not being compatible with Alexa but this isn't true. I had the same issue and later found out that you have connect the bridge to Alexa as well. Not sure why this instruction is not as obvious as connecting your accounts and enabling Alexa skills. So three parts to it and it works like a charm!

My keypad froze and fingerprint reader stopped working after firmware update. I reset it and now it thinks it's a lesser model than the pro. So frustrating. I've tried resetting with the pin and through the app. Restarted phone, uninstall app, reset multiple times and it's maddening. I've only had the lock for 8 months. Too soon to fail especially at this price point. I had a cheaper smart lock that was more reliable and last much longer than this.

Communication between the bridge and the lock frequently hangs and the app is in Connecting phase. Since the Bridge is accessible, the app should have the Bridge Reset button so that the Bluetooth gets reset as well during the bridge reboot . I don't mind the app being buggy as i rarely use it, but when it's buggy and i am not a home to reset the bridge physically, that's a show stopper.

The actual lock hardware is great and I've been very pleased so far, but the app is really lacking in quality. All the API calls seem to take a really long time and often timeout without succeeding. I'm consistently not able to load my log screens or change my settings or do other basic functions in the app. I've also stopped receiving notifications whenever my lock is opened even though I have the Smart Notifications set up to do so.

Timer for auto lock never worked. Only locks instantly not set time. Auto unlock never worked at all. Waiting 8 months and never works even with updates. Called support and they are a useless scam! The same lady with broken English answers all the time and says she only knows about Apple phones not Android! I asked for someone who does in tech and she said she's the only one! She said issues may be fixed in future and I can write to engineers. Asked her to and she hung up! Disgraceful service!!

Can't set up an account through the app... You have to do everything through the website -_-. Only thing I'd change on the website is the app setup videos announcer. It should be a guy with a New York accent saying,"This app is garbage."

Was working but was forced to update and noe the app crashes. Can't get to any info. Also doesn't work on computer. Update, the work around suggested by the developer worked. Another update came out the next day. Everything is back to normal. Thank you for the response and quick fixes. It was corrected. This product is buggy. It seems like every update causes a new issue. I've gone from having a reliable device to being locked if I don't have keys.
