Udemy Online Courses

I really enjoy using the app on my phone. It's great to re-watch courses while I am travelling. Although, I observed a small bug where the order of lectures videos is getting mixed up, ie lectures 60 and 61 are placed between 84 and 85. Impossible to refresh the list. I hope this can be fix. Thank you. Aurélien.

The main issue I have with the app is the lack of responsiveness i.e. switching between sections, no apparent loading wheel or indication that anything is happening leaving me frustrated... The other issue I have is the download lectures feature which is very buggy. Once I download a course I'd expect the content to be available offline, this is not the case at the moment... I would love for you guys to fix the issues as this really leaves a bad impression when you consider that the web app experience is much smoother

Used to work well. But for the last three weeks, it has become a terrible experience. Streaming freezes all the time and after some time the application crashes. Very disappointing. Update on May 2022: the issues listed above have not been fixed even when the videos have been previously downloaded on my phone. Terrible experience. Giving now only one star.

I have enrolled in many courses but I can't see all of them. The load more and jump to navigation buttons do nothing. It also lacks detailed filters to display specific courses. I know there's a search function, but, sometimes I just want to see all the courses in one list. Overall the app is ok. It's just these issues that keep me from giving 5 stars.

I am not able to stream videos. One video just keeps buffering and jumps to the next one. On the app it shows that I have seen the video but in reality I just saw ablack screen that keeps buffering. Please fix this. Contact me if you need details. The app doesn't have any feedback or contact buttons for seeking help. You should at least have a 'help' option in your menu where users can seek support

It's really good regarding just plain online usage. But when it comes to downloading course for offline use - it's a buggy, freezy, unusable mess. For example it may completely freeze when you clicked to download or when clicked to delete downloaded course, or play. It's a nightmare and judging by other reviews others have same issues for a long time. Please fix it. Your whole platform is good.

Slow AF! The reason I downloaded is so that I could use it to study on my down time with headphones and get some course finished. Very hard to navigate and only shows me a black screen with a round arrow as if still loading a page, but nothing is happening! Very disappointed and I guess I'll stick to using my trusty desktop PC as a better option!

The latest version is messed up. I wish I hadn't updated to the latest version. I can't scroll down to the bottom of My learnings list anymore. It automatically pops up another menu which I don't need. I just need my courses. And no way I could scroll to the bottom of my list in my learning. With no other option I am forced to use the website in my mobile too. Very very very frustrating. Are you destroying a perfectly working app in the name of Updating????

The app is slow and crashing. Downloads takes for ever, sometimes more than a day to download a course (on high speed fiber connection WiFi 6 / 5G). Any operations like Archiving a course or deleting a download almost always crashes the app. I bought series of learning courses and now even I am not able to navigate from one course to another without waiting for minutes or crashing the app. Just opening a video course will take over a minute and takes a few attempts just to open a course.

I absolutely love Udemy and plan to use their service for years; However.... The offline playback (in the app) could definitely use some work. When one lecture is finished and it should autoplay the next, it is successful MAYBE 10% of the time. The place where I spend the majority of my time has no cell phone service, so downloading courses and completing them offline is highly preferable; Ideally with as little interaction as possible. Please work on this Udemy devs 🙏

Very nice app I do have an issue with downloads. If I downloaded a video and I'm trying to play it with my data on or connected to WiFi it doesn't play the downloaded video it streams it instead, so if I want to watch my downloaded courses I have to restart the app and disconnect from the internet. I think you should create an offline mode so we can have better experience with downloaded videos.

This is terrible. I download videos but the videos only play if I stay on the app after downloading, the moment I leave the app and return I'm asked to connect to the internet before I can even access DOWNLOADED videos. What's worse is sometimes even with internet access, the app doesn't still load up. All that changed with the latest update is UI, nothing else. The app needs intense debugging. P.S: I love the courses and all but what's the point if I can't enjoy them.

The app doesn't work with spotty internet connectivity even if locally downloaded. It constantly skips videos, doesn't auto play, loads/buffers, or just doesn't work at all. I have total of 69 courses and I've completed at least 25 of them. The app constantly gets worse year after year.

2 stars due to the actual paid for course being excellent. The android app however is poor in the fact it will not cast the videos to a Chromecast without error - a feature you would think would be important for a video learning app. What's worse is I emailed udemy to report and you get a very poor automated response that infuriates the customer stating obvious troubleshooting steps instead of just communicating they will fix the issue.

Not a pleasant experience. I think the webversion is much better. Very disappointed with downloads option. I tried to download an hour lecture, like 7 times, and all of them stopped in between. When I syart the download again, it starts from the beginning. It doesnot have resume which is common in every app nowadays. Also, if I have to go behind the video 5 minutes, it needs internet to stream again. There is no filter to see onky the question that I've followed or asked.

I had great hopes for this app due to its advertised screen casting function. Sadly, its casts but struggles staying casted and partway through a video will skip to a different video, not always the one next. Even selecting a video, it struggles even playing the video selected and will play a different video. It was rather frustrating. Hopefully this can be fixed so I can level up my learning process.

Overall Udemy is great and no complaints about the content and features, but it can be a bit laggy buffering and loading. Feels clunky and unstable at times. Aspects to the glitchy video player that could be more intuitively designed. The title of the current section and video should be front and center as you are watching. It's frustrating having to scroll down through the entire list of sections for that course to find the title of the current video playing. Needs a better user interface

Udemy is an awesome learning platform... From the user experience to the pricing as well as the quality of the lectures... It's beautiful... My only issue is the "load more" icon on the app is not working Only works in the website I suggest you fix that It used to work before But all of a sudden, it stopped. & Hasn't been working on the app ever since. I'd appreciate if it's fixed as soon as possible.

Works as expected! Hello, just a small feedback. Sometimes I open a course to search for a video on a certain topic. But since I don't where the lecture is located, I need to scroll carefully over 100 lectures which is quite tedious. An input field to search the titles of the lectures would be great and avoids the frustration. Sometimes, i feel it's easier to find relevant video made by a Youtuber instead of scrolling through Udemy lectures. Thank you.

I sincerely enjoy Udemy because of the great courses, but after having it for a few years I don't understand why there isn't a dedicated TV app. Chromecast is unstable with Udemy specifically. I can hardly get it to work. It often skips or returns to previous videos. Part of the enjoyment is watching courses on a big screen like you're in a classroom. If they actually manage to change these issues, I will proudly rate the app 5 stars.

Support is useless, lots of reviews point out the same issues, response here is always 'contact support' as if there's a problem with our accounts instead of a bug in the app. There is an autoplay toggle option but lectures autoplay anyway, even though I have the option toggled off. Chromecast doesn't work at all, it'll only play the first lecture of a course and errors if you try to change to a different one.

It's been over a year since streaming to chromecast has been broken. Sometimes it just errors. Usually it plays a different video from the same course. You can't cast the video you want. I believe it is to do with Chromecast not supporting the video encoding uploaded by the content creators. Udemy should reencode the videos to say mp4 that Chromecast supports.

1. Incomplete names of lectures are shown in app unlike website. 2. If you change screen and come back to the lecture, it starts from previous lecture. 3. If you go back by 15 seconds (by using button), it has to re buffer every time you press the button even if it is for same portion. 4. If you change video quality, it starts video from beginning instead it should start at same timestamp. 5. For same course, on website it says that it was last updated on 11/2021 but on app it says 9/2021.

Chromecast? Offline playback? PAINFULLY IMPOSSIBLE!! I'm trying to save cell plan data by: 1) going to my local public library - that works; 2) downloading udemy course videos in app - that also appears to work; 3) playing back the videos offline to an external screen at home via Chromecast - that doesn't work! Support suggested that I try Airplane Mode. Don't I need a radio (the WiFi) to cast? Of course, I do!

Great app for learning anything under the Sun. But, there are some issues. I should be able to sort paid and free courses separately. I should be able to sort courses based on the date I purchased. That would help us a lot. I am rating low just to get a reply from Udemy. I will edit my review once I am able see my paid courses list as per the date of purchase

Great product. But they should be option to adjust playback speed of the videos. Isn't that too basic for a video learning platform like this? Some people might want to slow things down, while some people might want move very fast through a course or brush up on something while say preparing for an interview. Other platforms have it (like Coursera, plurasight, Udacity, etc). I like Udemy model because you get to own the course forever. They should implement this as soon as possible
