UDOT Traffic

UI not very user friendly. When trying to swith between alerts, maps, etc., the menu is almost blacked out and difficult to read especially during the day if you have even the slightest glare. If the UI was as pictured in the advertized screenshots, I would have given 5 stars as the app is very helpful and contains a lot of useful information. ***Update** They appear to have fixed the menu, but now everything is in a very bright magenta background without any way to change this.

**UPDATE** Changing to 5 star. They fixed the crashing upon start up. I love this app. Started using it in 2012. This has helped so much in day to day commuting as well as traveling. I never have to guess how the roads are. Pull up the map and see for yourself!! Latest update crashed the app. It worked great until your fix on the 12th and now I can't even open it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have restarted my phone and it still crashes before it opens.

It's ok. An option I would love to see is to set default traffic cams, one or several. I have a crucial decision on my way to work every day. Use or not use I-15. I want to see the ramp meter at 90th south NB. If it is congested, I will use surface streets. If the freeway is backed up, I will use surface streets. The problem is that I don't know until I pull up on the ramp and it is back up to 90th and beyond. Then I know I picked the wrong route. If I could open the app look at 2-3 traffic cams along MY route and make a better decision, that would be great, but using the map isn't going to happen.

Keep getting an error message every time the app loads. I reached out to the developer who only told me to make sure the app is the updated version that came out two months ago. I told them I just barely installed it, there's no updates available, etc. They never wrote me back. The app keeps crashing too. This app is not worth the trouble.

App is ok for reporting things but it's almost impossible to change anything. I follow the instructions but they don't happen the way they are supposed to. Can't switch devices. I only wanted to report a broken traffic camera, not become an email buddy for life!

Below is the mail I sent you regarding the error that I've been getting along with other people that states "The developer forgot to declare the Read_State_Phone permission in the manifest". UDOT Devolpers, If you read the comments on your reviews in the APP store you'd see this has been a problem for a while now but it's still not fixed? Just login and declare the damn file to fix this. It's ridiculous that people have been telling you, but it's still not fixed.

This app worked a total of two times. Now all it does is say it failed to load and shuts down. Sometime it doesn't even say anything it just closes before it loads any thing. I would NOT recommend it to anyone until they fix this issue. Installed on a Samsung J3

This app never works. Have turned permission on but still always crashed. Used to work. As someone who drives this is winter time must have. Please fix,!!!! Any chance you get all the camera working. Miller's Flat camera hasn't worked for almost 2 yrs.

I am a very new user of this app but so far I really enjoy it. Roeal time traffic reports are terrific! Cameras are posted all along the Wasatch Front which makes commuting much easier. The live views are very helpful.

When the app works it's great. Cameras never work, especially when it snows. Reporting images asks you to download another app. Please fix. You are not helping traffic with a busted app and non operational cams

Love it. I use this when I get up to look at a camera near where I live to gage traffic and weather in winter. Only drawback is it's not live so you have to take into account WHEN the current picture was taken. Other then that it's great.

What happened? This used to be an amazing app that I could rely on to get me to work safely and on time. Whatever new update was made is completely irrelevant to my needs. The cameras do nothing for me, and I no longer can tap specific slowdown events and get any kind of real-time understanding. In fact, I'm not even sure what this app is now designed to accomplish. It used to be incredibly useful and easy. Be aware this is not worth installing in its present form.

I wish they would put as much comedy into the website & app as they do on the billboard up end down the freeways! It's a great app, great program, and collections of road conditions - state wide for Utah. Sometimes the cameras are down in certain areas. That's a bummer, however the folks at Udot are great!

It's great when the cameras are working, useless if they dont. I use this app to check road conditions before I travel. Lately though, most cameras are down for maintenance. The camera at Miller Flat Road on the Manti Lasal had been down for a year. UDOT has spent a lot of our tax dollars to install this system only to let it go to pot.

Does this app even work? It's supposed to be able to report broken cameras. Worst design ever. I open click then nothing. No confirmation. Then what? Have to open again. ?? What is going on? Most of the important cameras do not work.

This app will not even try to open. I enabled all the permissions. My phone just got a system update maybe that has something to do with it. Great app when it works.

Again why fix it if it's not broken. Before the update I used this app every day. But then the developer messes with it. Now it won't even open. It just keeps crashing. I sure wish the developer really knew how to develop. Get your act straight and put the app how it used to be. Good God.
