Glitchy and often slow to open; sometimes won't open at all. Finding tasks related to your account are unclear, you have to open them with a plus sign button at the bottom of the app. I'm not impressed. 9/27/2020 Still giving me a hard time. First I get an email introducing a new mobile app, so I download it only to see it revert back to the old app which refuses to allow me to log in.
This app is decent, but not great. It doesn't allow you to sign in your fingerprint. You can't view your account number from the app (have to log on to rhe website for that). My biggest suggestion would be to have a way to one click dial & authenticate yourself to customer service. UFCU's authentication for phone calls is frustrating and is almost reason enough to find a new credit union. If i could call straight from the app and avoid that process, it would be perfect!
i love this app, but after a factory reset, i can no longer launch the app. when i first try to launch it, i get a screen that says it's running updates, but then eventually times out with a network error. tried on both wifi and lte. uninstalled and reinstalled. restarted phone. cleared cache and storage. pixel 2, android 9
No option to see if you've typed in your password correctly. Won't accept passwords pasted in, no split screen so you can see the password generated by a password generator. So, write down your password so you can manually type it in. Over and over. They randomly decide not to let you deposit checks through the app and disconnect accounts so you have to have two user IDs and continually log out and back in. save yourself and just use the website. unbelievably bad.
UPDATE: The app doesn't recognize passwords inserted via a password manager. very frustrating, but this is why I couldn't log in before. gave it three stars because once I'm in, it's fine and does wgat I need, but the log in process is laborious. customer service was helpful in troubleshooting logon. really hope they update this app for fingerprint confirmation abd to play nicely with password managers. these are both industry standards!
Most banking apps hide the info on the screen when you're switching between apps on Android, but this one doesn't. It also doesn't let you make transfers to external accounts without using a web browser. Other than that, I like the app a lot.
Generally poor experience overall. You have to use different credentials, the app prevents using paste in form fields, and also prevents using my keyboard swipe feature. Developers seemingly threw up arbitrary measures designed to make it seem like things are more secure but they really just make the experience worse for no additional security. Max password lengths are a thing from the '90s. Let me have an arbitrary long password already!
Not as convenient or with as many options as other banking apps such as easily replacing or ordering updated debit cards, online money transfers to someone else even within the same bank, or setting a travel notice. Could be a much better and more convenient app that relies less on having to actually call a rep or use a laptop or desktop to access certain features.
Update after using for a few months. App throws errors often, but doesn't tell you how to fix them. App is slow. If something goes wrong depositing a check you have to start the whole process over again. User interface is terrible. Sign up process is not user friendly.
Why do you have the three dot dropdown menu, a "more" tab AND a small orange plus at the bottom of the screen? This is super redundant, just put everything under one tab so i dont have to keep looking for the options i want. It took me awhile to figure out that the features i wanted were behind this tiny little orange plus which is located under your privacy policy statement. Not very intuitive.
it is impossible to login! i keep getting locked out of my account and having to create new passwords. call center told me to close out of app every time, i do that and its still not accepting my correct answers and locking me out. ive NEVER been able to login! this is beyond glitchy. what is the point of making an app available if LITERALLY NO ONE CAN USE IT?! just don't have one until you have one that works!
why did you disable fingerprint login? also, there is a terrible bug where it moves my cursor up to the username field once I've tapped the first character of my password. This exposes my password to anyone with direct visual access to my phone's video stream, and is terrible security, in addition to being an obvious pita. This app feels regressed to an earlier version. I hate it!
Can't log into the app. It keeps telling me I have an invalid username or password, yet if I log into desktop version, it works. Even changed my password multiple times and even with new password, app won't accept it. Really frustrating because there's no way I can do online deposit except through the app.
i have had this app since 2017 ... Something happened close to the end of 2018 and ever since I am having to delete and reload the app ... It comes up with a screen referring to "Lang". I have changed nothing ... Used it 2 days ago and now reloading again ... Called the bank and was told to reload again ... Suggested i might have used a different phone etc ... No ... I have done nothing different ... This is a technical problem ... Tech is always kind but this has gotten frustrating
Update 4/1/20: Won't even let me log in anymore. Gives me an error every time I try. Works well enough. UI not great, but works. Would be better if app allows transferring to/from outside accounts. Have to log into the website for outside account transfers which is irritating.
This app doesn't work on my Samsung Note 9 even after reinstalling. I had problems with it on my old phone too, basically every time I want to login I have to call or go into a branch to reset my password. It's terribly inconvenient. UFCU is great, but the mobile app is so bad that I use another bank for mobile deposits and to be able to check my balance when traveling.
Update needed ASAP!! I haven't been able to access the mobile app for two days now. It keeps saying there is a network error. This isn't an uncommom problem and has happened before. Definitely is something that needs to be fixed on the UFCU end because its the only banking app I use that isn't working. Otherwise it's great for mobile banking and UFCU is amazing!
Overall, it is a very useful app. It's nice to be able to electronically deposit checks. I didn't give it 5 stars because the app has a bad habit of forgetting my password. I've been forced to reset it a few times. In fact, it was necessary to do it again about 5 mins. ago. On my first login attempt with the correct password, I was informed that my account was locked!! I thought you're allowed more than one attempt to type in the correct password.
complexity is the enemy of security. This mobile app is the worst banking app I've ever used. From the draconian password rotation and ridiculous password mask, to the 15 hoops you have to jump through to reset creds because of the draconian policies. Use the website on mobile.. it will save your sanity. oh and inter account transfers? not on Mobile. only thing you need the mobile app for it's check deposits. if you don't need that don't bother with it.
I LOVE the Mobile Banking. Once you get it all set up it's a breeze! Also, I recently had to close my account and open a new one due to possible fraud. I think if there was a way to save a snapshot of the last two weeks of the old account it wold make the switch a little smoother. Other than that, I'm happy!
App is extremely useful, can do mostly everything you can on the regular website. I've been using it for years! Also can turn off access to your credit/debit cards if you think they have been lost or stolen, and once you find it, you can turn it back on! Really great app!
Pretty good, a few random crashes and lacks the functionality of going online are the only lacking points. If you're looking to bank with them I'd say go for it. All staff that I've talked to over the past decade have been kind and helpful.
It's a good app to manage the basic accounts but ultimately lacks a lot of additional features like fingerprint unlock, when you click a loan account you just get the amount nothing else that can be done or additional information about the loan. I am just one person but probably not the only one that would like a more advanced application like other banks.
