Faster and more convenient than the desktop Anytime version. So sad that you are leaving the RoI market after, in my case, 45+ years with you without a problem! Trying to move now to one of your former competitors only highlights the service I had down through the years! To all the super staff I dealt with down through the years, mostly long-retired like myself, my heartfelt thanks! A friend in need is a friend indeed. Well done and thanks again!
While abroad recently, I lost my debit card. Using the app, I was able to freeze the card which was very helpful. The card turned up two days later, via the app I was able to unfreeze and start using again. Minimum fuss, less stress and no anxiety.
Not user friendly. Difficult to understand as 'pay now' button on credit card doesnt work although highlighted. Instead one must 'review payment' first though no indication that this step MUST be taken. A late date is indicated which would incur late payment charges. Is this a sneaky way of charging? Every month same annoyance until I remember..
My original review said "Sadly this app is getting worse". Over 1 year on, this is still true. I've recently used the app to transfer to an account of mine in another bank. First time I transferred, a limit of €1000 was enforced because "this payee has not been paid before in Anytime Banking". 2nd time I transferred, was restricted by the same limit. 3rd time now, same issue. Ulster Bank are leaving Ireland yet I can't empty my account with the app.
I'm very sad to see this bank leaving the market. It had the best mobile app with no other traditional bank even getting close to match it. Revolut is great, but I need a local bank with branches that I can access and it will have to be either AIB or BOI, which I had used before and both of them have a weak support and mobile apps.
This is the best banking app. So many great features. The inclusion of additional security features and the ability to see my Ulster Bank mortgage and loan details as well is brilliant. I will miss this app when Ulster Bank close.
It's getting better, snappier, quicker and easier to use. You only see what you need to see but can dive deeper if needed. Canceling DDs on the app is very helpful. Pity Ulster is putting out 😏
I have to reinstall the app back again after how many months . Not easy to download the app. Still saying there is an error. WiFi is good and mobile data ok.
Works well until it's time for an update. Then each time I log in and click on the update, it does not update. Now when I log in there are only 3 days left. I click on update and the pending wheel spins forever without updating..
Easy to download. Efficient, easy-to-use and very handy when you are on the go. I recomend it when you need to quickly check your account or send money etc.
I find the App brilliant, never had any issues. Sad that Ulster Bank pulling out of Ireland, Great bank, great Service, will be missed for sure.
Amazing app. Easy to use. No stress to transfer money. Easy to setup standing orders and amend monies going out on standind orders. Receive transaction notifications when I spend money. Will really miss this when ulsterbank leave Ireland. Been with them 35 yrs.
Exact same issue as Neil Thompson. I'm 2 weeks chasing up this issue via Twitter DMs. Customer Support have been great. Tech support have failed to contact me, failed to read my detailed explanations of what happened (tried to approve a Revolut payment and then it knocked me out of my registration and since then won't send me Activation Codes (app or browser) & have lied to customer support by blaming the phone provider (Vodafone in my case) whereas I am still receiving UB balance notifications
Love the new intro with the changing colours. The options in the app are amazing and very helpful. I love it. Wish my new bank, whoever it be could be ss good as you. Also how do I get notifications to clear.
It works well if you can manage to open it. It often fails to open which is very frustrating if you are trying to approve a payment.
I'm get tired of this issue now. For weeks now, I keep requesting for the app to send me a verification number to my phone so I can activate my banking app but each times theres hours delay in sending me the activation number in which is to late each time to use it. I seeked help a few times from Ulster bank online support and they gave me no help at all. The problem is not my phone service as I'm able to receive all other type of messages and I also followed the supports instruction. Nothing!
Very useful, can't do all my payments, but in general allows for banking on the go, and balance and transaction checking. Worth having.

That new log in screen is almost the worst, maybe next time you can have a fully strobing background and have the bit where you put in your number move around randomly, that make it the absolute worst. It's a banking app, trying to make it fancy and flash won't work. When it comes to people checking on their finances all you need is to show their details and info in a clear and clean way. Don't bother with transitions or fancy sliding stuff either. All it has to do is show numbers and details.
I liked the App quite a bit. I like the features it offers. The last update with the change of colour & added animation - Please stop. App has been updated again since this review. It still has that annoying graphics display. Again: PLEASE STOP! If you are intent on letting it remain Please put an option in the app as a personal preference to turn it OFF. I'm dyslexic & it's challenging enough to get things right without an unnecessary graphic underneath the entry field.
User friendly app. Easy to navigate. A time saver as you can do a lot of banking on your phone without the need to visit a branch. I'm very satisfied. Would be great to be able to have more options for the mortgage account, like extra payments or checking/changing rates etc. Maybe something for the future developments...
Rarely available to approve online transactions means I need to use other service provider. Used to be very reliable.
Every time i click to go back to a previous page, it logs me out! Every. Time.
Brilliant app, Functional, flexible and secure, it is a shame that this app will discontinue when ulster bank leaves Ireland
A lot simpler to use than some other banking apps. As good as I have used.
During registration, you have to leave the app to get the registration code via SMS. But the moment you leave the app, you're kicked out of the registration flow and taken you back to the start, losing all the info you'd already entered. Such a frustrating waste of time. Between this and the awful mobile experience on the home buying platform, moving to Ulster Bank looks like a bad choice.
Very poor user experience. Every time I log in I have to reset the app. Why is the security so difficult? If my password and pin and customer number were too easy then anyone could guess them. I deliberately have a complex password, but asking me for random letters in a random order is just ridiculous. The only way to remember is to have it written down and then its pointless. Please take a look at the barclays app and learn how it should work.

UPDATE: 3 yrs after a bad review I gave I've to say the app has improved massively and it's really easy to use. UX's nice too. Pity UB's leaving IE. OLD: It doesn't work. It does not let me sign in. I've just signed in to my account via phone and no issue, while in the app it keeps asking me for same combination of pin/password and keeps rejecting it! Tried with 3 differents Ulster apps, all useless. Ulster should really changes systems, nothing ever works. Customer for 8 years, it gets worse!
