Ultimate Guitar Tabs & Chords

Awesome content, average app. Results in search keep refreshing and reordering themselves, so it's sometimes difficult to select the one you want. When playing along a pro tab on a phone, the next bar is not visible, and the top navigation is hiding the treble part of the neck. As the main source of guitar tabs for most musician, I expected better.

Love this app, been a long time user (about 4 or more years now). I love the ability to favorite tabs and make different setlists. Recently though every tab I had previously transposed or changed scroll speed on has been reset to default and won't retain these changes. It's kinda annoying to see this feature taken away and now I have to remember to transpose and change scroll speed any time I go to a tab.

Ios app much better. When looking through favourite tabs organised by artist, their songs are not in alphabetical order. You also loose the bar on the side to scroll by artist first letter (which you can do when sorting by song). The auto scroll function is too fast even at the lowest setting, but in its is absolutely fine. Paid for lifetime pro and annoyed that the app isn't as functional when I've switched to an android tablet.

Been a member since 2018 and this is the first time I've been frustrated with this app. A bunch of my shots are gone, my transpositions of songs I've saved no longer load (it goes to whatever the default is for that tab). While I'm currently not gigging, if this had happened while I was, I'd be even more frustrated because for every song in my set lists I'd have to re-transpose to the correct key, everytime. I see from the reviews I'm not the only one with this problem. Please fix it UG.

The problem doesn't fall on the app, or website, but the poorly scored tabs. I'm am very grateful to those that take the time to write them, but people score tabs that are just wrong way to high, and that can send you in a wrong direction very quickly, and you may not know it. Best to verify tabs with reputable online teachers that do song lessons online for free to draw you into their paid courses. "Carl 365" is a good example, but there are many others, and once you've verified it, ur good.

Fix this app. I have a premium subscription. This is my third year with it. I have to say, whatever has happened in the past few months has now resulted in an unusable app. Simplify isn't working, transpose isn't working, scroll speed has turned epileptic & all the bloody chords have changed. My tabs were all saved and set how i like them and how i play along. However all the settings aren't saved anymore. Gave up practicing songs after 10 mins. Whoever is doing this needs fired. This angers me.

Updates have sadly stripped this app of its core usability for me. The playlist feature doesn't function at all. I can't save any tab, much less a personalized custom version. I can't create a new playlist or edit an old one. EDIT: As a gigging musician, I now use Songbook Pro to store and access my music on stage. It's only $6.99 (no subscription), and you get to search UG's database and import the chord charts with ease. All the pro's with none of the cons.

Everything about this app is designed to annoy you into paying for a subscription, but it's also poorly designed on top of that. Opening an artist's tabs is a nightmare since the song constantly shuffle and you end up accidentally clicking the wrong one just as you thought you had it, then you try to go back but now there's an ad that you have to sit through, rinse and repeat until you fork out the cash. It's utterly shameless and you don't deserve a penny until this is even somewhat functional

Two things have happened with this app recently, which makes it very unstable and unreliable for use at gigs Transposing tabs & scroll speed slider resets any time you exit the app. The scroll speed "speed" has also changed. On my tablet I currently have to change every song no matter what the song, to 0.1x speed. Anything more is too fast.. Please take a look dev team, I'd love to change the rating back up to 5 stars, but these bugs are making me avoid using the app, especially the 1st bug.

I'm still exploring, and all the songs I like are available. It's really laggy/not smooth (maybe it's just my phone) so kinda ruins the experience. I've only seen one ad, a video one, and it came ~5minutes after opening the app. I haven't tried playing yet (as I said, I'm new) but it looks promising.

I like most things about the app, but am still upset that after paying a few years back for full lifetime access they deleted my account entirely, raised prices, and made it a subscription situation. Now it's pop-up ads and no auto scroll without payment, and just like... ugh. Update: I emailed the suggested email per developer comment here, but it's full and "...could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error." :-(

I really like this app but a recent update is really annoying me. I keep my saved songs in specific keys, sometimes transposing them. The recent update reset all my songs AND now they reset everytime I exit the tabs. I just have to memorize the preferred key for all my songs? It's so annoying and just a small thing which has really impacted my enjoyment of this app. I pay for the premium version of this app and this is making me rethink my subscription.

Eh. I do like it and has helped me figure out how to play some of my favourite songs. Though, I've posted a few videos and no matter what I do, I can't ever rewatch them and I don't like that. I need to be able to watch my own videos so I can make sure that I didn't make any mistakes and just so I can hear what I've done. Please fix this. Apart from that and the tuner makeing no sense and some of the chords being really difficult (both me problems) it's okay. Probs wouldn't recommend it

Trying to contact the support team on the app is not working. Not sure if it is an Android issue, but the message won't send, and then can't navigate away from that page because the Yes/No buttons are missing from the "are you sure you want to cancel ...' box. Having a nightmare with the app today!

This app is broken after the most recent updates. Auto scroll speed increased significantly without warning, and now all saved tabs revert back to auto scroll speed of 1 regardless of what you change them to. Definitely disappointed as a long time UG paid subscriber. Will start looking for alternatives if these issues aren't resolved in the near future.

As the most popular source of chords for songs on the internet it should be free to transpose chords into any key. If you try on the website it directs you to download the app where you learn you have to pay to transcribe the song you want to play. I've been playing music for a long time and I don't need capo versions of songs it just makes it more difficult to transpose to the correct key in my head. Either make the original key available to every song or make transposing free. Ridiculous.

Pretty cool,but the ads between the lyrics are annoying.I have to stop playing the guitar just scroll it.And if I use auto scroll it's fast to read the lyrics while playing,I know I can adjust the speed but if I put it at the right speed, enough to read the lyrics,it takes too long to scroll pass the ads...edit: it's not the ad that's a disturbance but the placement is,I understand why apps needs ads.The app is still very cool though,I use it everyday:))

This app WAS great. Lately, however, I've experienced some annoying bugs like the app begins playing guitar tutorial videos when I CLOSE the UG app. Super annoying because the only way to stop the sound/video is to open the app and stop the playback manually. Wish this app was more focused on functionality rather than social networking and videos.

I used to like it and now its garbage. Originally it was $15/yr to have access to everything. You could be learning chords and how to transition between them, learning songs along with it. The classes were simple. But any courses you want now, which are not the same and are not as easy to find/follow, are now $40. Find another app.

I really don't want to give up on this app because the content is so awesome. But I'm beginning to think it's literally unusable. I'm trying to watch a 17-minute video, but I can't get through 3 minutes without the video freezing, and once it's frozen, it's frozen permanently. Those are the times when I'm lucky. Sometimes, the video is frozen from the get-go. Additionally, the app does not keep a list of courses you are currently working on, but that's a small complaint compared to the other.
