➤ Locations shown range from full-service campgrounds to boondocking sites with no amenities to back-country hike-in and boat-in locations.
➤ Filters allow you to select which types of campgrounds you want to see displayed on the map, such as Tent, RV, Walk-in sites, Back-Country Hike-in and Shelter locations, Boat-In, Group. or parks with Cabins and/or Lodges. Additional filters let you see camping sites with only the amenities and/or activities in which you are interested. A set of elevation filters and region filters are also included.
➤ Included are campgrounds owned/operated by towns and cities, counties, states, and federal agencies including the National Park Service, Army Corps of Engineers, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Defense and Tennessee Valley Authority. Also included are locations operated by Native Americans, utility companies and non-profit organizations.
➤ This app does require internet access to work properly. The campground data is on your device as part of the app, but the map is loaded from the internet. When first opened, the app will be centered on your current location. From there you can scroll the map to view campgrounds in other areas or you can enter a city or latitude/longitude into the Search box and jump to that location. To get back to your current location, just tap the Locator icon.
➤ Campground icons are color-coded according to the "ownership" of that facility and also include an abbreviation, thus making it easy to pick out each type on the map. For example, Forest Service locations have a green icon with "FS" on it. Unique icons are also used to denote trail and river campsites, such as the Appalachian Trail and Idaho's Middle Fork Salmon River.
➤ Tapping on a campground icon will result in a pop-up balloon with all the info available for that location. You can tap on a Details button for even more information about the location, including links to its phone number, website, route planning to get you there, weather conditions and pictures of the campsite.
➤ You can also add a location to a Favorites list. The Favorites list organizes your saved locations by state and type. You can tap on a Favorite item and the app will jump you there on the map.
The data itself is updated every month with new locations and corrections and additions to existing locations. The Play Store will automatically update your app with the new data.

Loving this app. Just used it to plan and month long trip. So many options within one app makes planning so much easier. Can't wait to see what we find on our travels.
This is an excellent app for finding information on military bases and their RV parks. However the website access to the military campground website (militarycampgrounds.us) is not always accurate to what we're finding on the ground. However this is no fault whatsoever of this app just a piece of information for those of you using the app. Make sure you call and double check with the RV Park to ensure the current information.
Comprehensive and easy to navigate. The filters make it easy to locate campgrounds that fit our needs. There are lots of types across the US and in Canada.
Been playing with this app for a few days now, and I like it a lot. Very comprehensive listings, and in looking at the entries for camps I know well, the data seems very accurate. Very happy so far. I have other camp locator apps I like and use, but I suspect this may end up as my default. Update edit: I contacted the developer to suggest a change to the lat/long format to make it directly compatible with google maps. Very quick and friendly response, and now I see that change is made. 👍👍
Wonderful app for finding public campgrounds in the US. Very comprehensive. Excellent filters for displaying only the campgrounds you need. I have used this app extensively in every western state and in various other places, especially New England. Information is almost always perfect. App is rock solid for me. (It also has Canada coverage, but I have not used it for camping in Canada.) I especially appreciate that it does not include any private campgrounds. Straightforward. No fluff.
Been a user for many years. Still love it. Update I see some one star reviews. Mostly from those that can't read or use the device they own. I can't recommend this highly enough. However there have been instances that were listed I couldn't camp at mostly because of communication issues. Fairgrounds have been the worst. However many fairgrounds are great. If you have a site that doesn't work out please report. But this is one fantastic app!
A great app! No other camping app comes close when it comes to public lands camping. Thousands of free and dispersed sires as well as all the federal, state, county and municipal parks you'd expect. With monthly updates I know I have the latest info when out camping. The ability to read and write reviews and submit photos is a great feature. Easy to use, this is a winner app!
Been a great app!Have used it on a cross country trip and it has helped immensely.Have been comparing it with other apps such as the dyrt, freeroam, ioverlander, park advisor, etc and always come back to this app. I may pickup some info on the others, but this is still the best.The format is good and being able to find campsites directly on the map is by far the easiest mode of use.The search function works well also. The only suggestion, is to have it be interactive with Google maps
I'm underwhelmed with the amount of boondocking and free camping they have. I got more out of a free app and off free camping websites. I'll be traveling out of my area later this year and perhaps I'll have better luck with it then. UPDATE: 6-28-20 I just spent two weeks in Colorado camping, and this app worked out much better than it did in Indiana. I haven't had any luck posting a review or pictures of the campsites, seems to be something funky with their connection on that.
This is the best camping app! It covers the entire country, but you can use the filters to narrow down your search area. It gives you lots of information about the campsites, i.e. water, toilets, fees, things to do...it is our go-to app for all our camping trips!
Buy it! 10 seconds in, and I've already found three (cheaper) cgs I'd never heard of! The only thing that would REALLY improve it is to allow a much more customizable favourites sorting. We are planning a 6000 km trip, and that's a lot of scrolling! Thanks for your good work here.
Has tons of free/dispersed camping sites that you can't find on a map anywhere else. Only con is the app desperately needs an offline mode where you can save a certain region. App requires internet and you often don't have it in areas where good campsites are.
I've been using this app for approximately six months now and find it to be the best app for camping within the US anyway I found so far. of descriptions of the sites have been pretty much accurate. the getting there feature is excellent the filters work excellent. only app I use now for finding campsites I mostly use National Forest Campgrounds.
My go to app for planning my camping trips. I just wish you could compute distance between places
If you're tent or RV camping this is the best app ever. We are on a 11 state western tour in our 30 ft travel trailer and this is the only app I use. Set up your filters and you see only the type of campgrounds you are interested in. Very easy to use. Glad I found it.
Love it. As a long time allstays user I have been looking for a replacement since they chose to switch to strictly apple, and here it is. Much faster and easier to use with all the same great info. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Need heated showers? UC will find 'em. Want BLM dispersed camping with nothing more than a fire pit made of rocks? Yeah, UC will locate them for you, use Maps to plan your route, show you reviews, and on and on. This app is the ONLY one we use, and we spend about 4 months a year on the road. Get it!
I had literally installed every camping app there was, simply looking for an electric site to plug in our EV car... And they were all hopeless, mislabeling sites as electric when they clearly say NO ELECTRIC. This so found more options along the route and the information is factual. Worth a free dollars in my book to save me time and stress.

Outstanding almost immediate response for help directly from Ted Houghton when we had a small problem...he made changes to solve the issue in the updated version which we downloaded at no cost. This is the best app. Used extensively to find superb little-known cgs 3 yrs ago cross-country to Oergon (12,000 mis.): 12 National Parks, and a host of federal, BLM, ACE, state, county & muncipals. Taking Aliner popup (12') next week to Alaska from VA...wouldn't go anywhere without it! Priceless!!
Used UC on recent trip and found it extremely helpful. The information provided was accurate but it proved to be wise to call ahead when possible as local weathconditions can alter campground opening and closing. I won't travel again without this ap.
I use this app a lot to find state, county, municipal and BLM campsites that seem to be impossible to find on Google unless you already know what you're looking for. The site is a little wonky. I spent a lot of time in the help section learning to use it. But it is definitely worth the effort. I use it every day while I'm traveling.
Easy to use app to find campgrounds in the US. There is a notice that Garmin Tread can do this - don't believe it. UC Public Campgrounds is easy to use, has solid data and gets you camping. Thanks for maintaining this app!
