UniFi Video

The app works okay both on my wifi and external using NAT, but that's only because I'm using DNS, of which the internal DNS server points to the local address. I understand people have problems there. When I try to find some point back in time, the app always crashes eventually. It's a shame Unifi Video was never finished and I don't trust Unifi Protect ever will be better.

Pros: The entire unifi system is amazing and a pleasure to work with (99% of the time, as for 1% see con). Very easy to set up and very secure (unless your my company who thinks no one will cut an exposed cable and break inecause that's illegal, idiots). And the best part the software is free and parred with a Linux server, you have the most low cost, scalable, and feature rich medium business size system I have ever seen or had the pleasures to install and maintain. Cons: Supply and demand hits this company hard in terms of new or amazing products because everyone wants them and there always sold out, so the damn scalpers get us with there price inflation. Fortunately ubiquiti has seen that and had been working very hard on getting more products without losing out on craftsmanship. There behind in some features but there definitely closing the gap! But the worst con of all is that sometimes there stuff just breaks at times but I can't hold that against them because I always use the latest beta stuff after I watch how the updates change things that is but still it would be nice if they got out that ips just a bit faster for the stable release then I'd go back to stable release versions. Just realized I wrote this review for the wrong unifi app and I can't copy paste but between the unifi ap/switch/firewall and the unifi camera I would be able to say the same review for both so i do.

This app is hard to understand. I have not used it for a while try and forgot the password. I enter the new information to reset password I cannot tell if it accepts what I have entered because it does not show any signs that it is doing anything it just stays on the same page and doesn't show you if the information has been accepted or not. it is Frustrating. Any suggestions? Very hard to understand.

Great when it works but it's so hit and miss whether you can log in or not. So it's a 1 star. Now I often get a 'connected' but the wheel keeps spinning and no cameras appear. This makes it useless when trying to determine what's going on in your premises remotely. This seems a common theme here.. what's going on Ubiquiti?

It's great when it works, but lately it's been crashing, disconnecting, becoming unresponsive and just generally unstable. Really a shame when you've invested in expensive cameras and NVR, and not being able to view any of it on your phone.

Too many steps - 5! - to get to the camera feed. I don't want to sign in two times before getting the camera every time. The moment I launch the app I just want my cam to display! Once in it is pretty good though. Can zoom in on the feed which is great.

Where are the premium features? Trying to move away from nest and setup a $3000 ubiquiti network yet the app is hit or miss, no notifications on movement which is so important. Seems very underwhelming for a company with incredible hardware. Where is the effort on the app? Cameras are beautiful but they need software that allows them to shine. I run the nvr on my own dedicated server in my rack and half tempted to try and move to ispy. c'mon ui. I expect better.

This app needs a serious refresh. The user interface is not intuitive and should have the same amount of controls as the web portal. It also doesn't utilize the uhd screens of current generation tablets and smartphones.

works for live view but if you want to click an email notification and see the clip forget about it. Useless since I dont sit around watching a live stream but I do check motion clips via system generated email links which this app cant open it just stalls and never logs in.

Ubiquiti has decided to abandon UniFi Video and focus on yet another complete rewrite of the software called Protect. Protect still does not have feature parity with Video, namely, you can't install on your own hardware, there is no redundancy, and it doesn't support more than 20 cameras. Despite this, they have decided to give the finger to existing customers and put in a misleading ad for Protect inside the Video app and cloud login page which causes lots of confusion.

I have no understanding why this app lacks the most basic setting a camera have, the sensitivity! This is something you need to adjust often, all depending on weather, time of day and so on..

I can connected camera local network and via internet. No live video can see still image and bottom left corner 3 dots keep moving. image setting preview screen can see live screen. Only I can see by web browser. BTW this app useless for me. I tested3 different android devices.

Viewing is slow but works if you have enough time. The login experience is horrible though. It's also probably the easiest thing you could fix.. but it never gets fixed. MFA makes a bad thing worse.

Horrible. I use it to keep an eye on my store and employees yet the loading and lag are horrific. Everytime the system updates i can not view anything until the IT guy for my company resets it which does me no good at all on the weekends when i need it the most. Terrible terrible functionality.

Easy app to navigate. Clean interface. Crashes often enough to notice. Wish getting to live feeds was quicker and didnt have to log in every time I open the app.

Please stop the spamming for Unifi Protect, it ruins the experience. I do not need nor want Unifi Protect, I am running my own NVR with Unifi Video, and it will stay this way. Maybe it will change when Unifi Protect becomes available as installable download, until then: NEVER

Won't connect to the camera feed on any network other than the network the cameras are on. Kind of defeats the idea of "remote viewing" ! Great cameras! Really crapy utilities! Disappointing!

Awful. Keep closing on its own at random on a galaxy S10+. Also, add the option to speed up playback speed. Will change rating if issues are resolved.

Works ok, it would be great if there would be auto login/default npvr and camera on start as I use this app to stream front door. Also double tap to pause/dim on live stream vould ne useful to preserve battery when not needed or some timeout/sleep after 1/2/5 minutes.

At this moment the app works fine and it does not bug you to upgrade. For people who have issues, trying upgrading the app on your computer as well.

The latest update added a pop-up add for their unifi protect product. This is garage as the reason I don't use this advertised product is I don't want to buy their nvr. Don't tell me to update my app when I physically cannot do this! I will never buy your nvr

App doesn't work all the time. Works great when it works but takes forever to connect and it gets stuck on pause a lot.

Since Ubiquiti discontinued the Unifi Video line you cant even use this app any more. The services has been disabled and you can use this app to view local cameras on the same network. Its not even worth installing since you wont be able to log in.

Extremely disappointed that the app no longer functions. I understand "no longer supported" but no longer functions? I don't like being forced to upgrade hardware.

This app has become totally useless. This app is constantly crashing and it will show my cameras as being disconnected/disabled. The disabled cameras will eventually fix themself
