Update I still give it one star. I had to uninstall it because there are so many glitches and now when I've reinstalled it it's impossible to get into. There's a splash screen that says you need to agree to some sort of disclosure but it doesn't let you scroll to click on anything and therefore you can't use the app. Super disappointing... 6.21.21 @ month ago there was an update to check deposit and ever since then it has not worked correctly. Super frustrating. They need to fix it immediately
I probably should have got this app long ago,would've saved me lots of fees. It's important to know what your balance is at all times, especially if you live paycheck to paycheck. This app does this just fine,my phone has a fingerprint sensor,so it's real easy. It's pretty instantaneous,it's easy to use and understand,it's a great app.
This app rarely works properly. From the unannounced, unscheduled downtime that pops up about once a week in the mornings, to the apps inability to connect to their servers when you want to do anything other than check your balance. I needed to transfer money, which is a feature this app apparently supports, but it rarely works. It's just an infinite load screen followed by an error message. Avoid this app if you can.
You are supposed to be able to deposit checks through the app, but it never works. It either tells you you're doing something wrong while you're taking the picture, even when you're following every instruction, or it allows you to take the picture and says it's not clear, no matter how clear, well lit, or well angled it is, or how dark the background is. The app tells you all these things that are wrong with your picture and still says it after you have made every possible effort to correct them
I received an error message while trying to login that said servers were down and to try again later. I updated the app suspecting this message was untrue and it was an application bug. Now when I try to login I receive a different error message saying this app no longer supports Android below V9. The original error was incorrect. I received no warning of discontinued support.
Alexandra and Donna both very professional. Put this smile on my face yesterday. Did more than above and beyond for me not knowing my situations at all. Got to the nitty gritty and provides excellent Customer service for me. Myself I'm cristoval Garcia and I wished I'd got the general manager's email address. Only displays recent 8 transactions no matter the selection. 30-60 ect. days don't show up and won't scroll. Is this suppose to be? Other than that, app is usefull and prefer it over automated toll free #. UPDATE: App working as advertised. All is well and now ☆☆☆☆☆
When it works it's nice, but that's only like 30% of the time that it doesn't say error, it's down, or some other random excuse for not allowing use of the features.
Unable to log in. Can log in on browser and laptop but the app is still saying my username and password is not recognized. Called customer service and updated my phone as recommended (Galaxy s9) but still no luck.
Too many unexpected errors. Sometimes works but often comes up with "unexpected error" so unable to deposit check. Tried removing and loading app again but same issue. I also have a Chase Bank app that never has this problem. I gave 2 stars because I can check balances etc., but the deposit check part of the app is pretty bad.
F Union Bank & App. I have personal and business accounts. Trynna run a business here and almost everytime I log in I get an error notification. Transactions don't post right away. Take forever to go through. Sometimes mobile deposits don't work. Customer service needs improvement. All this combined makes my payroll to employees lag. And that should not be an issue at all.. going to a new bank ✌️
Had this app for several years and loved it, never any problems until a month ago. Now I can't log in half the time. If I can get logged in, I can't transfer money anymore because it says there's a system error or maintenance. Please fix this issue!!
The app doesn't show up to date balances. If I click on one of my accounts it says there was an unexpected error. It's rendered the app completely useless. I rely on mobile banking. This is very disappointing.
Consistently has issues with mobile check deposits. When taking picture of back of check you have to wait for it to time out so it will take it on the second round. Also, rarely sees endorsement. I've starting depositing my checks with chase since their mobile app is more reliable.
Rarely works. No alerts come up to inform one that there are issues. And No informed help from bank though they claim they Know there is no problem. Now 4 months later. Still cannot use online deposit. Have tried with 2 phones and a tablet. Promised return phone calls DON'T happen. Terrible.
Doesn't work. Check depositing randomly goes down and doesn't work most of them time when it's supposedly up. Can't even log in right now. Like the actual bank website, it's always randomly down for maintenance but never actually gets any better.
Who does your QA? Clearly they are not doing their job. Doesn't work on any Android phone with V12 lousy service regarding the issue saying it's my phone and not their app. Installed on two different clean Google pixel phones both with Android 12 and both recently refreshed. Error is at the authentication first jump user name password. Fix it Union Bank or send me an iPhone.
Edit 1/14/22 - mobile check deposit works only half the time. I live 1hr+ from the closest bank. If this is not fixed soon I will switch banks after around 20yrs here. No longer allows me to deposit my checks. Either says the system is down or the amounts don't match, even when the amount is clearly written.
12-7-21 Just way too many times, when it is close to 9pm pacific time, I'm unable to login. This makes depositing checks online sometimes an inconvenience. UPDATE: 2-23-22 Still the same issue of not being able to login, but this time it is at 8:10pm.
No Zelle even though it says it has it. The instructions on the Union Bank website say that Zelle will appear as an option when you select "transfer", but it doesn't appear there or anywhere else. I have a Google Pixel 6 with Android 12, with current version of the banking app.
App doesn't work anymore since last update. For about a week now I haven't been able to sign in. Can't use finger print log in for several months. Been under maintenance at least once every week. Inconvenient. Have to go online and log in now. Having a working app to access my account quickly means a lot to me. I've been thinking about switching banks. :/ Please fix as soon as possible!
This is not a good app. The look of it is so boring. It looks like a teenager set up the site. It's impossible to set automatic long in. I figured out that I had to hit the little figure in order to set it up. However, it doesn't work. Once I signed out, I attempted login without using I'D and password, but that feature doesn't work. Good bank. However, horrible customer service app.
I had to uninstall because the log in was claiming i had the wrong password. I hadn't changed it and it was automatically saved from the beginning. I didn't want my account to be locked so I checked my password on the computer and it logged in immediately. Must be a bug? But it's inconvenient having to log in on a web browser. I wish this were fixed. I also want to add, Union Bank is a great app and I've never had trouble with transfers! it's just unfortunate that it's still bugged out :(
Deposits a disaster. This has got to be the worst banking app I have ever used for deposits. It has big issues reading check amounts and gives no method to confirm the amount entered is correct. It just keeps telling you it doesn't match. Also has problems seeing endorsements. I can't count the times I've been told it can't find the endorsement when it is clear as day.
This is the worst app ever! I've had it for months and I've only been able to deposit 2 checks successfully out of at least a hundred. After trying 9 or 10 times I finally gave up and have to drive to the bank. Really unacceptable in this time and age. A waste of time do not install this app. Very disappointed thinking about changing Banks to one that has an app that works.
The Union Bank mobile app has so many bothersome issues/bugs that it isn't worth the trouble using. It refuses to accept photos of checks, statung "the amount entered is not the amount on the check", or some other random issue (image isn't clear, etc, etc). My android phone is about 4 years old, and it seems the developers of this app do not take into consideration that many people don't buy the latest and most expensive phones out there. Terribly flawed app.
Used to be a decent banking app. Recent update broke the app. It now freezes when I go to deposit a check. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It's just broken. UPDATE: Shortly after this review, a rep from Union Bank reached out to me and told me they were aware of the issues with the app, and we're working on a fix. She said they would roll the fix out shortly. She also said she would keep in touch with me, and she did. Really, really good customer service!
