THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES

The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. The Constitution, originally comprising seven articles, delineates the national frame of government. Its first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it.

Since the Constitution came into force in 1789, it has been amended twenty-seven times. In general, the first ten amendments, known collectively as the Bill of Rights, offer specific protections of individual liberty and justice and place restrictions on the powers of government. The majority of the seventeen later amendments expand individual civil rights. Others address issues related to federal authority or modify government processes and procedures. Amendments to the United States Constitution, unlike ones made to many constitutions world-wide, are appended to the end of the document. At seven articles and twenty-seven amendments, it is the shortest written constitution in force. All five pages of the original U.S. Constitution are written on parchment.

The Constitution is interpreted, supplemented, and implemented by a large body of constitutional law. The Constitution of the United States is the first constitution of its kind, and has influenced the constitutions of other nations.

Very well laid out. Easy to read and use. The only thing I would like is to be able to select what I want to copy by word/letter. It will let me copy, but only whole sections. So, I use this app, but when I want to copy specific parts, I open a second app that is not as easy to read.

Everyone should have a copy of the Constitution available. It should be pre-installed on every phone, tablet, and computer sold in the United States. This app is easy to use with an index, search, and bookmarks so you can quickly return to the text that supports your discussion.

It ls very clear, very concise and precise. I like the font, the format and the design. The good thing is that the adds don't disorganze while reading.

I have read this document a few times through the years. Very interesting. Okay well I learned a lot of the history of the Constitution since I was a kid in the 60's. Yeah, I like it a lot although it could be improved upon. It is a living document, after all. I recommend that ever citizen give it a reread every few years. It's that important. Especially lately!

So I wanted a simple copy of the US Constitution on my phone for reference and this app fits the bill great. It has options for changing font, quick navigation to chapters and search function. Very satisfied and will look at other historical documents like this app.

So far it's the best app of its kind! An audio version would be nice as well as a way to eliminate ads. There are no settings other than font size and so far, no pro version. Overall, 4 big stars!

Great way to learn the constitution! Always handy to read and you can use the search tool to find amendments related to different things. Such as if you enter the term property it highlights everything related to that. Love it!

This is hugely important and timely for all Americans to read, whether once again or for the first time, to remind us what this government was designed to be, and, with the Amendments, what it has so far evolved to become. I'm embarrassed that I have just read it through for the first time, and I'm 72. All I remember being taught in school is the preamble. Too bad it took the current crisis of division among our people, and my accidentally running across the app as I surfed for new games.

Very nice, clean and simple UI. Allows you to bookmark each article of the Constitution. It also has every article and Amendments organized in boxes, so it is very easy to read. I absolutely love this app.

I love this! It's very clearly laid out, with immediate access to an outline of it all through the hamburger (three bar) icon. Also, you see immediately what any font-size adjustments look like.

Love it! My eyes are not as good as they used to be and having this in this font and being able to enlarge it with a swipe of my fingers is a blessing. And I must say I have had many lively conversation with my friends and family having the constitution at the ready. I highly recommend this for everyone of all ages!

I highly recommend this app for everyone who of any age, origen, color, gender, et al. Political Science & Government being favorite subjects, I keep eyes & ears on all current events of our Country. When I hear a word, phrase or law referred to that I need clarified, or when asked to explain, what could be better than this U S Constitution app. I can even print a section to show how a Law is written. I believe we all must learn more & know the truth that our Country is based on.

Love having this app on hand, and the keyword search function. Def useful when arguing against rightwingers about what the Constitution literally says. Ex: they love "strict constructionism" and hate viewing it as a "living document." They need reminding that there are these things called Amendments, thus proving its an imperfect, *living document*. Also, the 3/5ths clause proves its an imperfect document. Plus that it took an Amendment to give women suffrage proves its an imperfect, living doc.

I have been reading the slowly to help me grasp more of the concept of our forefathers ideals. It would be more appealing if written in a font based on the original. I'm surprised of the number of downloads, compared to number of citizens. Thank you for this great app!

Great little app that allows you to bookmark & Copy each & every section you wish to. There is also a pulldown index. My one suggestion is to add the Declaration of Independence.

4.75 but ill round it up to 5. It includes everything except for the premiable to the bill of rights , but Its very very detailed So i wont one shot it down because of that. By the Way . DO NOT LOOK UP THAT WITH GOOGLE. DuckDuckGo showed it and google tried to block it. So be prepared that a company wants to stand infront of your rights.. I would get a windows phone, but microsoft might do the same thing.

In a time when the Constitution is more important than ever this app is an excellent way to study up. The app itself is very straight forward and has a search function to easily find specific articles within the document.

Tim. M. Jan 18, 2021

Great word for word text of the constitution. I would give 5 stars if it had under each text box, in straight forward english, what was said. The constitution is almost completely cascading sentences and it is easy to lose the point of what is said

The danger of apps that contain tennet/core texts (Bibles, Qurans, 'Ghitas, corporate missions...) is the subsequent false belief that the reader has the difinitive truth having read the document. The living (ever-changing) side of truth is the vast perspectives that generate widely various interpretive methods. Each method has an ambitious (not generous) man behind it. We all need to learn them. (Trees have roots as well as branches.) Ugh. Who has the time when you have to have 3 jobs?

Been tired of listening to the News and Politicians saying.. "Constitution this Constitution that." I love My Country and want everything done the way it was written and signed in 1776. And Im actually able to read and learn and undertand it for myself better. And this app makes it a whole lot easier to Understand and actually learn the Constitution.

This is a straightforward, easy to use app. Former U.S. Senator Robert Dole, among many others, always carried a copy of the Constitution with him wherever he went. He said it settled many an argument. I liked the idea & started doing the same some 50 years ago. How convenient it is to have it on my phone, eliminating a paper booklet from an already too bulky purse.

Nice app. I've noticed people commenting about spelling, such as "chusing"; that's the original spelling. Spelling was not standardized yet at that time. One thing I would like to see is numbering of the clauses, so that when you go to look up, say, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 14, you don't have to count down to it.

It's good to have so you can go over basics of what make the United States the last bastion of Freedom, and beacon of hope. It reminds us of why we even bother keeping ourselves always aspiring for better, making up for our errors, and writing the wrongs of history. We must be faithful and peaceful.

Rhe. K. Aug 31, 2020

So far I like what I see but I wish you had a place to let us report typographical errors for consideration. For example I have seen "chusing" twice instead of "choosing." Thanks for the wonderful app. Something we all need to know.

It's great to have an App concerning our constitution. Anytime I see something on the news or read something about the legal rights of our governing body, I can just go to the app and refresh my memory as to weather it is true/right, or an incorrect political action.

Blu. C. Sep 7, 2020

Wonderful app, clear interface, easy to use. If possible, dark/black background feature would be great in the next implementation. Thank you

Ric. S. May 23, 2022

I really like having the Constitution right at my fingertips. When someone says something about the Constitution, it's right there on my phone to settle any discussion.

It is Great to be able to read and get to a polnt of the Constitution with speed and authority and at times see how much Congress has got away from the true contents and meaning of our U.S. Constitution. When they do so, they need to be held accountable for their action in a fast manner.

Cha. Sep 6, 2021

Download it! Read it! We need it now more than ever. The Founding Fathers left us this as our roadmap to remain Free People. This is a great phone Constitution! I've had it on my phones for a while. A short, extremely eye opening document that needs to be mandatory reading for all Americans. 🇺🇲

Our nation's most important set of documents put forward in an easy searchable app.. Use it constantly as many people misquote and even more misinterpreted what our forefathers so brilliant penned and made law of the land.everyone should know it front to back.
