Universal Traffic Recorder

Poor! Not sure what makes this such a poor experience. If it's the device or the app that manages the device. The app allows you view recorded footage, it's tricky to modify settings as doesn't let you change some eg sensitivity of the shock or radar. Field of view isn't very wide, actual camera quality is just ok but does record every movement. I haven't been able yet to figure out if app allows you to see full screen view on phone. Can only see recorded footage on little screen on provided.

If you're considering installing the Audi UTR, don't waste your money. As a basic dash cam, its OK. Resolution is good and it has all the usual features. But for £450, it's not worth it. The app struggles to connect - I've yet to successfully connect first time. I've no idea what half the settings are as the manual is sparse and it comes with a tiny 8gb SD card, which will record 15-20 mins at most. This is some OEM camera they've badged and you'd be far better off looking elsewhere.

Frustrating!! Has potential though! WiFi disconnects frequently when connected to the dashcam, making watching video difficult. App not updated very often it seems! They need to get on top of this and fix it! It has potential but it doesn't seem like it's much of a priority. App itself doesn't look bad but whether it's a software or hardware issue it needs to be fixed! App tries to run on the phone all the time!

The worse app ever! It has been 2 years and I'm still trying to make this "sophisticated app" work after lost-counted reinstallation and visiting the dealer multi-times. All I got from this app is showing "Connection Error". Absolutely nothing but frustration! Whoever designed this junk, please re-do your qualification and come back to fix it!

This app crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME I use it, it's just abysmal, and if I could give it no stars, I would do. Getting a video to play takes forever, and I have not yet managed to view a video from the rear camera on my phone. My car has a perfectly good touch screen, why on earth can't Audi fix up ability to view dashcam footage on that instead of this garbage app?. I've given up with it, I just take out the SD card and view on my pc with VLC, not convenient but way better than this app.

As all have mentioned, basically asking you to check WiFi connection when the phone is connected. The features in the app looks good but the very basic thing fails, and that is no connection.

I have this set up in my Audi. An expensive camera with probably better on the market. However on initial setup all ok...paired fine. Have just changed my phone but it will not pair. App keeps going around the loop. Have written to Audi.....but both customer service and local dealer not interested. Had I known this hassle would have gone with a good quality basic camera. Not something you expect from audi.

It's totally awful. We thought we were doing the right thing getting the Audi Dashcams, but they're awful, very difficult to use, not intuitive and very frustrating. Don't buy.

Installation of the UTR cameras is easy with car specific cable, which is not part of Audi UTR package. Had issues that camera didn't connect to my phone by Wifi, but it works now. The app is okay now.

Bugs Bugs and more bugs. Doesn't overwrite files with *new* video when card fill. WiFi does then yoo. Sloooow flashing LED. PC format fixes it until card fills again. Go unbranded dashcam over this rubbish.

The camera itself is very good but this app is rubbish doesn't connect and I have to drive off as it tries to connect to my home WiFi. Great piece of kit spoiled by a crappy app.

This app is so bare bones it's unbelievable. Really bad UI for the price tag of the UTR accessory and a real let down for the owners of an Audi car that has a premium price on it.

Using a pixel 4 phone. This load of rubbish won't connect or install new firmware. When live view is selected it crashes. Will be taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. Absolutely usless.

This is the crappiest app that I have ever downloaded from play store. It is just plain useless... It keeps trying to to connect to the camera and fails saying not UTR the app will stop?????

Would rate it zero if I could! It was so bad that not even the dealership technical staff could make it work & they ended up removing the utr itself & paying for a dashcam from Halfords to be installed! Absolutely diabolical bit of kit & a real fail from. VW/Audi.

Cannot view the recorded videos display on the apps.... Display blank page... SD card direct load to PC, cannot find files for rear camera... Bad bad bad

Keep having WiFi connection issues with the app. although the camera it self is good, the app is VERY poor. sack the app developer

I am not able to download the app can someone please help it just shows as loading forever.

Just had this UTR installed today downloaded the APP and have spent all day trying to install on my Pixel XL to no avail

it cant download into your own phone gallery or save it. pls look into the issue

what is the point of the videos if i cannot download and only access thru the app. how to show insurance company and traffic police?
