Untappd - Discover Beer

I've been on untapped since 2012. I don't know what has happened to this app but it freezes literally half the time I open it. It's becoming unusable. When it works, it's great. Please fix this. Also the UI is long overdue for a refresh. There are too many features that are buried under a clunky, cumbersome interface that desperately needs to be simplified.

Love this app and the idea behind it but recently it's become extremely frustrating to use. You open the app, go to the Discover tab to search for a beer, and if you begin searching before the ad banner loads, it renders the app inoperable. It stops responding to touch input. I can repeat this over and over. The app prioritizes loading ads over you actually using the app for it's intended purpose. This needs to be fixed ASAP. 3/5 for now. Running Android 12.1 on a Pixel 4.

Latest version no longer shows the green tick when you search for a beer - you have to actually select if before seeing if you've tried it. It also seems to freeze up the first time I use it and only closing and reopening will allow me to select anything. Any why are there ads in the app now? Unbelievable.

App has gotten buggy with the latest updates. Go to discover a beer to try to check in and more often than not it stops letting you type or click on any beer in the horrible search results. The only button that works is the time line. When clicking back on discover it is still stuck so you have to restart the phone. At least half the time it says I don't have a network connection and won't work at all despite being on wifi or shutting that off and being on 5g unlimited data where web works.

I like the app. I used to meet people at bars because if it. Keeps good records and works for me the past 4 plus years. I look at beer specials and then my shop to set if it is worth it or if I have ever had it. I plan on keeping up with the app. Only thing it needs better prizes and prices at bars.

This application has historically worked well until they started to introduce the ads. As I don't pay for the application I'd be fine seeing adds but navigating the application and being sent to the Google play store for another application, Tally, in this case is just flat out invasive. Have been on the fence about getting the insiders annual but I'm not sure that would even solve that based on the verbiage of insiders saying "a limited ad experience"

App is becoming more and more unusable by the day. Laggy/non responsive interface, multiple check ins for the same beers with no way to consolidate/flag them as duplicates (their flagging system doesn't work), and poorly optimized search. I used to really like it, but man it's gone down hill

Formerly worked great, but over the past month or so, constantly becomes unresponsive when searching or browsing. You can scroll beers, but when you click on one, it does nothing. Only way to fix it is to clear app cache and force stop.

The latest version crashes continuously, freezing on the search results screen when you select a beer. A massive shame as it was a great app until now, my rating was a 5 before this.

Quite possibly my favorite app. Love all the functions and ease of use. The only thing I'd change is how the ratings appear, it would be great if those that wrote more would appear first so you could learn from reviewers and not have to scroll to find more than just star ratings.

Lowering my review as for the last mo th or so, I've not been able to get notifications of DMs to work, and worse, when typing a DM, the keyboard text slows to near frozen and the app crashes. It's not my phone because I have nooooo other issues even similar to this in any other app or messaging platform at all.

This app use to be great. Now it freezes and the filter option in the search function doesn't function. Damn shame this is the only app that does what this one does, bc it became garbage.

Recently the app freezes when you search for a beer. It won't let you select the beer. This has never happened before in the last 8 years of using the app. Please resolve the otherwise it's 5/5

Been using this app for years. When they hid stats behind a service fee a year or 2 back it was bad, but the app has been getting buggier and buggier. Most of the time when I search a beer, I can't interact with the search results and end up not posting

Come on guys, there's a huge bug with the app. I search a beer and then can't click on it in the search results to check it in, just freezes. Tried 10 times to check in latest beer and now can't be bothered with the effort.

Main issue is that they use Foursquare instead of a more up to date map service... so if companies don't make the extra effort to update this 3rd party map service, customers can't accurately say where they are, or the name is incorrect on tagged information... untappd needs to switch to Google or another service that is more frequently updated! Otherwise everything works well, and many companies have the descriptions and stats of beers integrated for information and convenience of browsers.

Great concept but the app needs a team of millennials to give it the once over. The interface is slow and clunky. This has made me think "oh sod it" on many occasions and I haven't bothered. thank you.

For the love of God, please fix the app! After you type in the beer name the app freezes. Have to shut down the app multiple times to input multiple beers. So frustrating. Been like this for weeks now. Have cleared cache and uninstalled/reinstalled.

Edit: 5/4/22 Currently broken on Android. Can't tap beers you've searched. So can't check anything in, can't read reviews. So it's worthless memory space. As a premium member I'm pissed because it's been 4 weeks. I contacted support and they said it was a "known bug". Well it's a p0 bug. Look at the other reviews, it's obvious not just me. Fix this shht or find a workaround for us. Or refund premium and I'll find the next untappd.

The new update is incredibly buggy. After searching for a beer/brewery, the list freezes and you're unable to select anything from the list. It takes multiple force closes and duplicate searches before the list actually becomes functional. Absolutely infuriating!

Still having issues with the bug where beer search does not allow you to select a beer. Also, they don't seem to review edits to beers unless you subscribe to them. Maybe they don't have the staff to do so, but still seems odd to have crowdsourced edits behind a paywall. Not enough 'pro' features to make me subscribe.

it's pretty buggy and for how long it's been around it's a shame that it's not more refined. tasting notes bit blank. many more beers out now than categories and not much QC. crashes a lot and when it goes down while your on a session it's a nightmare.

PLEASE FIX THE APP ASAP!!!! This app has always been amazing but now since the last update, it's borderline unusable. 50% of app openings i can't type into the search bar, i also can't click on any beers. This is my 3rd time force shutdowning the app in 10 minutes

EDIT: deleted cache and it works fine now. Hope it helps some people - no thanks to the developers as they dont seem to care to assist. Using the app for years but now they finally made it unuseful! So i can only either select what i want to search for (beer, brewery or venue) but the can not type what i want or i type and can not select what i am searching for. Seriously get this app back to where it was. Since it "improves" it is just getting worse to use. Get it together and fix.
