As an 18 year old, up is a breath of fresh air. Although commbank can't be beat, up provides functionality that literally gets straight to the point and does everything you'd want and need. It's simplistic without reducing any key banking functionality and just works. The savers algorithm keeps me in check and provides realistic achievement evaluation. And might I add, customer support is literally seconds delayed, texting for help during active times takes 2 minutes Max for a response.
Do not use this app if you have any vision problems. The fonts are so small and there is no way to zoom in. I've let them know on multiple occasions and it's just been brushed off. Obviously designed for only young healthy eyes. Trying to find a way to close the account, or I would if I could see it. Edit: May 22 With 86400 now just becoming UBank I looked again at UP. Nothing has been done to set a font size and make it visible. Please close it! I'll try and find a bank that actually gives a
By far the most frustrating and least intuitive user interface I have ever experienced in an app of any kind - let alone a banking app. Up has great marketing, which is why my partner ended up signing up. She sent me an invitation to open a "2Up" account (aka joint account). To my frustration, trying to perform basic banking tasks like see all account balances on one screen, set up payments, etc is almost impossible. Even putting our two heads together we couldn't figure it out without a lot of frustration. Things are not in the place you'd expect them. I've used about 6 or 7 different banking apps and never had to think about how to do basic tasks - it's always been easy... until now! And the documentation is almost non-existent, so good luck getting help when you need to find it. TL;DR - great marketing, awful app. I really have no idea why everyone loves it. Clearly I am the odd one out. To the devs/UX team - if you're going to try and put things in "new" places (compared to every other banking app), at least improve the user onboarding process and provide comprehensive support documentation.
It's okay, and it works mostly, but it's difficult to find your way around the app and you can't get a physical card for a joint account. By far the most frustrating element of the app is the inability to be able to turn off vibration when looking at your Savers. Tilting your phone the smallest amount causes it to vibrate wildly and I cannot find a way to turn this off.
Going on two and a half years now, and I still absolutely love this app. Constantly growing and adapting, without fear of fun. Speedy transfers, speedy customer service, excellent features, and clever use of data. Sure, there's the occasional glitch; innovation is always trial and error. These occurrences are rare though. The more I learn and discover about Up, the more I'm endeared to this bank. I can't wait to watch them grow.
Great app, tonnes of new features being developed. Whenever I've contacted support for anything they are super fast. I inquired about a feature which at the time was not possible and several months later I received an a message 'because I showed interest' and they were advising the feature is now available. I made the right choice switching
Up has to be the best digital bank on the market at the moment! It's so simple to use, the zap card is awesome as I only use my phone to pay now days. The UI could use a update, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to switch banks. I've already got a few people to switch :)
I've made an account and transferred over 3k into my up account... my up account now has over 3k in it and im unable to touch it in anyway. I'm unable to transfer it back to my other bank account im unable to use the card its provided me. Everytime I go to transfer into my own bank account (completely different branch) or try send money to anyone it just says is "unable to make the transaction, please check ypur activity statements. I don't know what to do!! HELP!!!!
Truly easy way to bank.The UI is excellent and seamless, the customer service team is quick to respond and always helpful. Highly recommend to anyone
'Up' has been literally the best bank I've ever used. The app is incredible. Helps with budgeting and saving. My favourite is how you can put money aside into different savings. I have money aside for 'best friends wedding present', 'emergency', and so on. Also, you get $5 when you sign up through a friend and make a few payments.
It's a great idea for someone watching their budget plus it helps u reach you goal with reminders and round ups I've saved more than I've ever been able too before. I like it slot. Also the customer care people are just so brilliant. Friendly and courteous with the willingness to help. Like old school customer care. Thanks for this app.
Honestly love Up Bank. Swapped over from commbank and, although the UI can take a bit to get used to, it's way better than any of the big banks. I especially love the widgets and how after every purchase I get a notif saying how much money I've got left 🤌✨
No other banks do UX and marketing this well. Unlike the other outdated banks, the Tree of Up shows you exactly what they have planned and how they continually improve. Money is no longer a snooze fest like my accounting lectures. Awesome job!
This app has really helped me manage my savings and see where my money goes. Much easier than any other banking app and has allowed me to save heaps!
Great banking app, have switched over to this for a while now and find it seamless for everything. Far better than the big banks.
I love this application in place of the big 4 banks. The customer experience from start to finish continues to be trustworthy. Enjoying the theme seen throughout the user interface.
I love this app. It's modern and chocked full of neat features. I would be using Up as my main bank, but unfortunately there are better offers out there for those looking to maximise their interest rate. As soon as they start matching or leading the pack, I'll be switching over.
Great digital bank. Love the interface and app. It is litterally the best one i have used and has alot of great features. The only downside is the low interest rate. I would be using this as my main account if the interest rates were higher but for now, i only use it as my secondary bank.
I have had an up account for some time. Everything works as it should, they even throw a little interest penny back into your savings each month for meeting there spending criteria. However, the major con for me with this particular service is that the accounts aren't recognised by aost every credit agency. And when I went to go into the app to update my home address to order a new card I had to send a message to up to do it. I couldn't just update it myself and order a new card instantly.
Exceptional app in usability, functionality, and making banking fun again. Unfortunately, it's 0.5% savings rate plus with the need to jump through hoops to get even that while competitors like 86400 gives you 1.2% without hoops means that I'll never use this app despite being exceptional. Doesn't have any other perks like HSBC's 2% instant cashback on all tap transactions. What wasted potential.
Excellent, constantly improving, noticed I hadn't updated the app when I went to post, will update if fixed in update but currently experiencing 2 notifications for 1. Weather it is dismissed or not the app continues to inform I used my card til I look at my phone. Still great, with what I've experienced so far don't expect this to be an issue for long
I've completed the regular ID verification process twice in the past 6 month. This bank is asking me to do it again & before unlocking my funds. It's been over 4 weeks now & they are refusing to talk to me, rejecting my physical ID, Medicare or concession with a selfie that's included a written 4 digit code I'm holding but they are still not unlocking my account. They take forever to reply & constantly ignore my distressed requests to help myself & my kids get through this process...
I think if you're in the position to get the help from this bank it is the bank for you sadly,too many low income families in Australia can't save but great app I'm saving and out of 3000 people in my week of up save only 700 left in week seven . Hope it all works out for you all but I have Joy in this app AAA1 rating

Very impressive with soughting upcoming payments and everything else that makes it easy to see where your finances go.
This app has most features I need in a banking app overall. Their support chat is unrivalled, they respond so quickly! A few features I'd love to see added, that some competitors do have, such as third party account observation, extra accounts with unique account number, for business and tax purposes. Also, for savings goals, I would love to see an option to view estimated time to reach a goal, or a suggestion on how much you would need to save weekly/fortnightly/monthly to reach that goal.
