UPNP Browser
Video support is limited, it is recommended to install MXPlayer or VPlayer as these are specialised video playback Apps with far superior CODEC support. If installed UPNP Browser will allow you to select you’re referred player instead of using the native VideoView.
The intention of the developer was to create a lightweight UPNP application, the APK is less than 1MB. There is no persistent storage of browsed UPNP results, no cache file consuming valuable storage space! All UPNP browsed results are live which also means that there is no fancy album or cover art, just simple folder and file icons. Movie, music and picture files appear as scorllable lists, see the screenshots for an idea of what to expect.
This app does not claim to be DNLA certified and is in the early stages of development. Please help the developer by providing constructive comments that will assist in further improving the App. All feature requests will be considered!
PLEASE NOTE: UPNP Browser does not contain any media, all pictures/photo's/music and movies are streamed from UPNP Devices located on your network. For example PC's set to share content, NAS boxes, XBMC/KODI, Twonky Media etc.

- required to contact UPNP devices # prevent tablet from sleeping
- you wouldn't want it to switch off whilst streaming!

It discovers files on upnp servers and pass them to local applications. Simple as should be and what I was looking for. For example you can watch videos from upnp server via VLC, while VLC does not support it directly.
I have tried lots of upnp apps, this is the best one. No Adds, clean crisp interface, easy to use. Works a treat with MX Player Pro. Highly Recommend.
Works Flawlessly with Mediatomb, No adds no Frills just a a file browser... just set your favorite mediaplayer as default and good to go!!
App is too good above the expected but the font size is too big pls make the font size small.

No other app in the market detects windows media player share on this huawei ideos S7 slim, running CM9 by asturel. On the downside; crashes quite frequently, the layout is not landscape tablet optimize, no feedback when a button is pressed & no option to select all. Thank you.
Does not save any information to the device and so there is no cover art like over apps, instead files are presented as a simple list with icons. Fast and easy to use.

Note 4..Installed the app tried running it. Always kept getting unfortunately app stopped working. Tried multiple times but never got passed the stopped window..
Crashes when I browse to my mp3 files on a dlna server
Now I can access all of my films from my phone :D
Simple. Great if you just want to browse and play single file at a time. Cannot show pics in slideshow or play audio files as playlist.
