Upshift

Just request a pop notification when there's new jobs posted rather than manually refreshing with my fingers crossed. Other than that, so far so good. I retired in February but want to take an extravagant vacation next month. Steady and Instawork are trash and scammy. This app is the real deal, got paid already for a shift last Sunday. Good support team too! No ads, No fake jobs, No BS. This app is the future and once it catches on more, the job market will be revolutionized.

UPDATE: It's great to be able to work anytime and anywhere in the country. However, the app is VERY messy. You can't see the full description of the job heading, because it cuts off, whether on the app or on my pc. They give no details as to where or who to check in with, no phone number of the supervisor of the shift, and no parking details. (even though there are sections labeled for such info, they are often left blank.) I was once told that this info was accessible once I was accepted for the shift. Two things wrong with that. 1. No, there is no further information provided once I accept the shift. The details stay the same. And 2. How am I to know if I want the gig if I don't have the details that I need? If I had known that parking was $30, for example, I would've never applied for the shift in the first place. As of now, there are TONS of shifts available for the Indy 500, but they give NO details. Just says to "report to the Speedway." But which door? Who do I check in with? These shifts also say they start at 3am and end at 5pm. (14 hours?) In the description, it says "the event plans will change ..." then cuts off. With no way of communicating with these employers, how am I to know anything? Even if they were able to contact me and say, "We need you 8am to 3pm this day," the Upshift app says 3am, so I would be 5 hours late and receive a demerit, unless the employer changed the details on the app. Anyway, HUGE messy ordeal for something that seems like an awesome idea for those needing extra money, or who travel a lot. Mostly, it seems to be the lack of information provided by the employer. If Upshift can make it a requirement to add these details, to fill in all sections, more people would pick up shifts. Upshift needs to require contact information from the employer, and to be able to respond at a FAST rate, because some of these shifts may start the same day they are posted.

Upshift is great! I only work part-time as a banquet server, but being able to choose my shifts and salary allow me to care for my financial needs and have time for my family and other obligations. When I started with Upshift in 2018 I had no experience working in the food and hospitality industry. Now I have the experience and joy of doing what I love, serving others and working with food! It's a win/win for me! They even deduct taxes! I would definitely recommend Upshift!

I like that it offers so much flexibility. At my job, I don’t always work during normal hours so this allows me to work shifts during times that will fit with my schedule. The app makes it really easy to know exactly what to expect when I apply for a shift as well. I also like the variety of shifts offered. As a journalist, I’m usually sitting down doing a lot of writing on the computer, so working on Upshift gives me an opportunity to do something different from my normal routine.

This app doesn't run like the apps I'm used to. Like this might as well be applying for like a regular job and hurry up and wait in line type stuff. Like this seems like a hybrid of regular job and a app gig. It's not a true gig job. In the sense that when you apply for a job you just hurry up and wait until no end. like I don't know I kind of wish it was better like if you apply for a gig like what I'm used to you get the job. Wonolo, instawork, quick, have this app beat. Their way better.

No idea about the work. Issue is when signing up, I can't read the words due to the horrible white on white display. Fix this and I'll sign up. Note: I'm using an Android device and may not be an issue for Apple.

I can't get ahold of nobody directly the apps help center is limited to answering your questions the options they say are none of what I have a question for and their is no way to call because it'll repeat the same thing over and over saying go to help center for the app so this app is preventing me from working because until I get the information I need answers to I will never work for upshifter. Now I'ma struggle and have to find more work else where until this apps features are changed.

It has really been an amazing experience for me and my teammates. With our schedules it’s virtually impossible for us to have any type of a job between classes, studying for exams, practices 2 to even 3 times a day and traveling for meets, Let alone having a social life but Upshift give us the flexibility to work within our hectic lives… And in college a little extra cash can go a long way.

I dont appreciate being misled not being clear and transparent about getting a gig as a 1099 worker instead after going through an orientation you go to select a gig and all of sudden background check that you have to pay for OMG🤔 and now your not a 1099 its w2 as if i am a steady employee upshift reports me as a new hire and I havent done not 1 gig not to mention $15.00 in the hole😠 and dont have one gig completed. the kicker is I declined the background check yet it was done anyway😠🤔!!

I thought I left a review here already, but here goes. It would be so much if orientation can be done by home. I drove 30 minutes to be there only 30 minutes to not have any jobs. I thought this did warehouse jobs also. Most of the jobs are more than 20 miles from me. You guys should also opt for daily pay. The work is not consistent enough to get paid weekly.

Onboarding a waste of my time I've applied for several jobs but never accepted. They advertise certain jobs on indeed , but those jobs are not available!

First off I downloaded the app months ago and all it keeps saying after I entered all my info .is they will let me know when a slot is available I have never been able to look at any of the jobs they supposedly have because I haven't gotten past the first page .I'm downloading it right now as I write this and I'm going to see if anything has changed.

Easy to use. Organized information such as shifts, profile etc. so you can find what you need at a glance.

Upshift is a great way to make money on a schedule that fits into your life! I absolutely love it!! A great way to make some extra money and save!!!!

The new format on the app I really don't care for... Overall upshelf is a great way to collect part time hours with your own schedule and a chance to decide your own pay

If you're flexible, it's flexible and there's lots of jobs to do, all of which are nice companies very professional i can't see myself not using this app any time soon

The pandemic basically ruined my old job (company shut down for good now probably) so I thought I'd try temporary work, lots of apps out there but Upshift works for me, got a steady stream of shifts dropping whenever I need them near me, lifesaver

At first I was just usign the web version but somebody told me to get on the app, its really useful and pings when a shift comes up last minute, if you dont mind hard graft this is a great way to make some money

Great app could be a little bit better by allowing you to choose destination range because some of the ships are just way too far for my area

I'd never done food service or waitering before Ive actually got used to it and the people are nice and the companies always very kind and professional, so yes I had a good experience :-)

I honestly made friends by using this app to serve meals in shifts, the others are people who laugh after boisterous and not really at school, my social life sucks but thanks to Upshift, I got my life back and they pay fast. is a reward

As a musician this has been a lifesaver for months when gigs have been cancelled for lockdown, they're nice to deal with and everybody on the shifts is a good laugh i've even made some new friends lol.

It's been a FABULOUS experience so far. I'm getting many temporary job offers that I can choose I've been out of the work force for 11yrs, and this is a great start for me.

It's amazing how flexible it is allowing me to be able to work my full time any time I need a little extra like before vacation etc. This is a lifesaver

I like that it allows me to find shifts that will fit with my schedule, so if I have a lot going on at work, I have the ability to take a break from Upshift and then pick up shifts again whenever I want. Also, I really enjoy the ease of the entire process. Everything runs so smoothly when it comes to using the app, finding shifts, and getting paid.

Lot of apps promising temp work like this, but this one is the best, best range of clients where i live anyway, no complaints.

Fits around my uni schedule, easier than going down the route of applying for dozens of jobs, they sort out problems fast.

I learned a lot about what I do and I don't like doing for work put it that way, but if you're not scared of manual labour this is a really useful resource worth getting into

Easy work really just show up and follow simple instructions, good to meet people and the pay is okay and most important RELIABLE can't stress that enough

App works really well. And when I make a mistake the service team responds immediately and helpfully.
