Urban Dictionary (Official)

Obviously the website is great but the app doesn't work very well, it interrupts the system audio (if you have some music on and you open this app it will stop). The application is slow and not fluid at all, and in the last week I can't even open it, the loading screen keeps loading over and over again. Apart from these things, I love Urban Dictionary, keep up.

I'm having the same issue as another user posted here, can't seem to get past the initial loading screen when I go to open the app. The green bar keeps flashing on the word dictionary and I may see the page for a second, but then it just goes back to the opening screen. I just got a Moto z4, upgraded recently from a moto z force (it worked just fine on that phone). Not sure if this is just a newer Droid issue since the last update, but until there's a fix I can't give this app a good review.

Overly simplistic, but effective. Interface is clean & responsive, and finding definitions is easy & quick. But, no account features. Votes don't actually count, either. Regardless if you tap thumbs up or down, all it does is change the button color (vote count goes up by 1 for a split second, then goes back down as if you never voted...).

The app used to work really well for me, but with the most recent update I am having the same problem others have had, where I can't get through the loading screen and the search screen flashes really quickly then goes back to the load screen. Really frustrating, I hope you can figure out the problem soon.

when i opened up with my up-to-date pixel 2 xl and up-to-date urban dictionary app while listening to music on my Bluetooth headphones, pixel puds, the audio started playing full blast through my phones speakers. whenever i open the app, it crashes my Bluetooth only giving it 1 star cuz that would be really annoying if the audio crashed and started blasting while i was in a quite classroom

We're really eager for a new update! I'd appreciate that and This app helps This app really is wonderful as far as I know ! It helps me with the meanings and the usage in the modern speech and convos.. Though it has some severe bug fixes and if you're planning to install this app then get ready for some glitches G-gl...l-it-- sorry I am glitching! But In a nutshell, tho it's having problems it's a good thing to have one like this! So go for it! 🤘🏻

Had the app for a while for the convenience of occasionally looking up new slang. Recently it started giving me a notification for a word of the day. Went in to the app, can't find any settings or way to turn off the annoying notification. That's the shortest route to uninstallville!

Was great before but now it doesn't fully load. Just stays on the opening screen, that animated color changing bar that goes over dictionary. When I exit out using the back button I get a quick glimpse of the opened page but clicking on the app to reopen goes straight back to the opening animation. Pixel 2 Android 10 latest security patch.

I'd love some updates to the app and bug fixes. It refreshes to the same defination i viewed after scrolling to a certain point. I'd love to see a dark mode of it. A better interactive and stable interface will be liked by many as well. Y'all should advertise it too (a kind proposal/advice). Other than these issues, loved the app, the defination snd meanings real good.

As other people have done, I got the app because I could not access the website. I tried opening it and the screen flickered and it looked like it was having a seizure. There was white and pink and red and then went back to the black screen with the UD logo and kept flickering between all of that. Not useful whatsoever.

App keeps restarting over and over and is stuck between logo and start up, and its no longer working on my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. I have unistalled and reinstalled it, but its still isn't working. Hope this error is fixed soon. I really like this app and is one of my daily drivers for word searching.

Dual SIM Note 10 + Chinese version, and this app won't even start up. I get the logo which flickers on and off and nothing happens after that. However, notifications and badges about the app works. I just can't utilize it. I'm forced to have to use the website within the browser instead. You guys need to fix this.

Not sure what is going on but the app gets stuck when trying to open. You can see the app open for a split second but then goes back to the welcome screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the issue still exists. Note 9 on Android 9 UI 1.0

The last few times I've tried to use the app it won't load up. It just flickers on the start screen like it's trying but can't quite open it's self. It still pops up with notifications but I can't ever get into the app. Really would be nice if it worked.

I used to use this app everyday, now it will not even open. The main screen starts flashing and is in an endless loop...website still works through the web browser, but the app will not load. While reading through other reviews I noticed that other people are experiencing the same issue. Please fix

App used to work just fine, but recently it's been having a flickering issue where it opens but won't actually load, just flicker open screen. I even reinstalled app to see if that'd help, it didn't. If this issue gets fixed I'll change review, but until then, just use the website if you want to use UD Edit: I do use a Samsung Galaxy S10, if that helps

Won't even open anymore after 3 days. Uninstall and reinstall, nothing, just a constant start screen. When it did work you had to open whole app because it no longer offered a widget which worked great for really really old phones but hasn't been around for years. Disappointing.

Same continuous loading screen problem everyone else is having. It works sometimes then it likes to sit on the opening loading screen. Other than that, best site to exist for modern slang and unlisted vocabulary not found in college dictionaries. 3 stars because it theoretically does work work but stays on loading screen. That's it

Update: It's fixed! Great app! It worked perfect until Jan 30. The screen gets stuck at the welcome page and won't open at all. After reinstall still doesn't work. I will delete or edit the review after it is fixed.

I'm very interested in going through the app, but ad mentioned by another user, on the Samsung Note 10+ it won't even start. The logo flickers on and off trying to show the first page, but won't pass the flickering. I'm still very interested, sp please update the software

It doesn't open anymore, and stays in the loading screen until you naturally give up. Installed, uninstalled/deleted data several times and still won't work. Device is Xiaomj Redmi Note 8, and it clearly was fast not until a the newest version that makes it stuck in the loading screen.

Still gets stuck on loading screen while the content underneath flickers for a few milliseconds from time to time, but all in all it's unusable. Utter embarrassment that you weren't able to fix the issue in ages.

Loads slower than webpage. App takes about 5s on my oneplus 3t whereas firefox loads it in 3s (with very many heavy extensions). I think chrome would work faster, but it's unfair, because I don't use it. Needs some work, bois. UD is a nice resource, but THE APP needs optimization.

Absolutely love it but for constructive stuff I'd recommend removing the need of an account to make a definition but still have a kind of verification so some without an account can make a term. From experience I tried to make a definition since there was nothing on "toe pie" and couldn't. Aside from that hiccup this app is beautiful for a good time and certain kinds of Info for a fun time

everytime I open the app while listening to music it switches the volume control to phone call volume and mutes the music but doesn't stop it. it's weird but over all the apps pretty good besides that one big bug.

It just won't work after the latest update. The daily notifications work just fine, but whenever I try to open the app itself, the starting screen just flickers and flashes and won't go any further.

I enjoy going through various definitions in this app, but I really wish it had a dark mode. Also, when I scroll down past a certain point it refreshes and starts back at the top of the page - with the same definitions I already saw.
