The content and news alerts are great, but if you only have the free version, you quickly find out that many of the news alert notifications you receive are for articles that are only available for paying subscribers. Very annoying. I wish there was an option that would only send me alerts for articles I have access to. Also, every time you open the app, you're greeted with an ad for their subscription service, which isn't cheap. Ultimately, I've decided to delete the app for these reasons.

I've been reading USA Today since long before the app ever existed. I find their representation of both sides of arguments or political views refreshing instead of straight biased media like Fox News. That being said, I also subscribe to the app to get access to the special stories that are usually good reads about important topics. I find the app itself easy to use and navigate to find topics and stories that interest me. Great app overall, worth subscribing for in depth articles!

I'm a subscriber and appreciate the ad free platform. However, there are a few minor annoyances that I would like the developers to address. Please remove the banner that tells me I have x unread stories to read. It's also not necessary to continue tagging articles "for subscribers only" once subscribed. Also, please show the date for all articles in the overview. Thanks.

EVEN AFTER paying $12.99 a month to go completely ad-free, usatoday STILL shows full page pop ups for get this... their own merchandise (mugs, etc.) ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who's the rocket scientist who thought it a good idea to show ads for usatoday products for those of us who pay $13.00 a month for a no-ads experience promise? Just for that, I'm canceling my membership effective end of this current billing month. Usatoday is so out of touch with digital media it's astonishing!

I have no problems to speak of with this app. I am enjoying it. I decided to subscribe this year! I have enjoyed the additional articles. Of course, I wish it was free but as a former journalist and TV anchor I realize the predicament that newspapers are in at this point with no one buying the paper product. The writing is crisp and clear and for the most part unbiased which is hard to find. The ads that are sent in separate emails can be annoying.

This app has gotten annoying. I don't mind scrolling past the ads embedded in the story, but now you can't even open the app or any story without being inundated with full, page-blocking ads. Overkill. Dropped from 5-stars to 1, and uninstalling.

Upgraded my subscription, now more ads than ever and I can't use the app on my tablet-crashes the app when I open an article-flashes uncontrollably until I force quit the app. NOT IMPRESSED!! Also not paying for this wase of space anymore!

Outdated articles. Some are weeks old. No zoom functionality so many of the articles are unreadable because of the tiny text. Most articles are behind a pay wall.

This a subsequent review, twice I sent in the documentation the programmers requested and I got no response. Maybe if everyone quit paying they would fix it. I have been an ad-free subscriber for many many years. Even though I am now paying a very high monthly fee, for a very poorly written app. The programmers seem to be unable to grasp the idea that when you pay for ad free and titles that you should get what you paid for. You should refund half my monthly fee for a product only half done.

Instantly bombarded with flash sale pop-ups that you can't close intuitively and too often provides an obvious bias in news reporting. What happened to objective reporting? Also, they have many subscribers only articles and cheap clickbait videos. If you avoid their obvious political bias, videos and annoying pop-ups, they do offer a nice and clean interface.

Paid for access is squeezing out non paying readers. Only 30% is free. What a waste of time to even open this slow to load page .It was great at one time.

Edit: As of 16 Jan 2022, I can no longer use my paid subscription and there is some bull$^%%^ from USA TODAY about not being able to sign in the previous way and to use a browser instead. The ad-free $2.99 monthly subscription fee that I've been paying for a few years is now showing adds and has switched back to the free version as has been paid for January which I now can't view as a paid subscriber. CANCELLING PERMANENTLY AND WANT MY $2.99 BACK!! THIEVES!!!

The electronic edition: convenient, economical, a wealth of information! The newsletters keep me up to date with my specific interests.

This use to be a good app for information, now a lot of stories are blocked, and the ad to subscribe comes up way to often. I plan to delete the app as I find it more frustrating than helpful.

While I have gone to USA Today for more neutral reporting for years now, the push for you to subscribe through notifications and pop up's is getting out of hand. I've seen mobile games with less pushiness to pay money for their content. I respect the need to support journalism but please just stick to article ad banners. I shouldn't get a reminder to subscribe EVERY time I open up an article.

Ant. J. Feb 27, 2022

I hate that all of the articles were free, you drew us in and then started extorting subscriptions for the most interesting content. Granted, it's a tried and true method, but it bundles you with the other sheisters.

Ordered 2 month's free paper, then charge of 13. A month. They charged me total amount right at the beginning and still cannot access it correctly on my tablet! HELP! IRMA GRIMM this is for USA today. Same thing happened with Palm Beach post! 😢

Very current and up to date. Very informative. They rarely "slant" the News, as so many other News Outlets and Internet News providers, do.

Jin. R. Apr 8, 2022

The daily articles selected based on my preferences does not update daily. If I don't check it every day, the articles are days behind.

Has. T. Apr 22, 2022

I love to develop my knowledge in the second language. I like to know about the world by another language. I learned the English language by reading the different articles and learned new words and vocabulary

Still the best national news source. For people with busy lives, it's stories always seem to be the right length, containing all the essential facts presented in a very reader-friendly format. Yes, to access all stories a subscription is necessary, but that's becoming the norm for all online news sites. I only subscribe to one, and that's USA TODAY.

Ton. D. Mar 29, 2022

Sort of works but needs editing. App frequently jumps to lower case. Light blue color used to highlight current clue needs to be more distinctive - it's hard to see.

Ash. Feb 8, 2022

I've used this app for many years, but will be un-installing immediately. Can't even open the app without constant ads for subscription. It seems most articles are available only to subscribers now. Used to be a wonder app for news, but recently it is basically worthless unless you subscribe.

Sha. R. Feb 15, 2022

One of the few news apps formated the way I liked....until the subscription was added. Can't turn off pop up subscription notices and can't read the majority of articles. If I can't read the content I don't want to see it as the main articles.

Dia. C. Feb 23, 2022

I have been a loyal reader for many years. Enjoyed the writing, remarks and opinions of very informative journalists. No longer!!!! In order to read an article you have to subscribe. USA TODAY charges more than any other paper. They repeat their articles for days and bombard you with ads. Stick with your other news folks! USA TODAY has lost its edge!

Wil. R. Jan 16, 2022

Revising my rating in 2022 because the app now will not let you share to basically anything but Google drive and nearby sharing, and because too many stories are just for subscribers so they couldn't be shared anyway. As before, I still like the cartoons, the tech and movie reviews, the news and editorials as well. But I will unsubscribe.

Rya. B. Mar 22, 2022

USA Today has become a completely devoted subscription based news outlet. They want $13 a month for add free viewing or $10 a month with constant obnoxious ads. You might get alerts for breaking news, but you're not going to be able to read in the articles unless you're forking out at least $120 a year. Complete garbage.

Dan. V. Apr 14, 2022

Good app for learning latest news. I used to read this first thing every morning but now EVERYTHING requires a paid subscription. Now I don't spend that much time on USA Today because of it's subscription requirements. I mainly go to Google News but even so many of those articles want you to pay a subscription.
