Been using this app for almost 4 years now, and it's a beast! Paired with my Fiio M11, it's perfect. Many of the features the Fiio player lacks are here, and it sounds glorious. *Please please please add a Crossfade option with a range similar to how Spotify has theirs. This feature is sorely missed while shuffling a large library or playlist. Also would like to see the ability to search through playlists for quick edits and reference. The playlist slider on the right needs help too. 😊
Outstanding, must-have app that taps into the power of your DAC(s). If you're a hi-fi Tidal listener, look no further! I did have an issue with sound on my S22 Ultra (no issues on my pixel 2 XL). It was fixed with a new cable, which was suggested by the developers here! Both were expensive cables, but the working cable was thicker.
Problem: UAPP doesnt gracefully handle the networks change from home-wifi to 4g-mobile networks. Streaming qobuz while the change is happening stops the playback completely. It doesnt recover on it's own. If you open the phone, UAPP displays some quick hover-notification about network issues. Bonus request: Please have something that indicates that the player is buffering in the main player screen. User has no idea if something is happening on button press. The smaller pulled down player says "buffering" and that would great on the larger one too. I would've posted this in your forums, but it wanted me to wait for activation.
An audio player app that bypasses the inferior Android native audio drivers, and outputs music through your dedicated DAC (aka 'dongle'). Does exactly what it says. Supports streaming from Qobuz and Tidal, works flawlessly so far. If you have a good DAC and good headphones, the sound improvement is noticeable. If you don't have that, then this app isn't for you. Supports bit-perfect playback, and MQA decoding (as an in-app purchase). All in all, fairly priced and great app!
Good app,However the issue is the buggyness, I don't know if this is caused by the forbidden apple USB c DAC but it's annoying, This app works a lot better at actually recognizing the device so that is good, and it is able to hardware control the volume, the issue, is no matter what I have done, the audio sometimes randomly doesn't play, the app crashes , and the music goes into glitch mode on tidal. This thing works with the apple dongle just wished it worked slightly better
Powerful, sounds good and works well, provides a new front end for tidal, etc, which makes sense and features cool color themes that dynamically match album art. Low cost, though the $3 extra for MQA support bothered me. Edit: UAPP does not seem to be able to play Tidal MQA via external USB DACs unless the DAC can do full 16x unfold. I've tried every setting but I get massive clipping sounds when playing MQA. Native Tidal app doesn't clip and plays MQA over DAC, but I've lost UAPP...
For $8 it should not be so buggy. I've only been using it for a day and it's already gotten to the point where I might just stop using it. There is almost no customization available in terms of UI, it's crashed several times, sometimes it just only plays one song and stops even though none of the settings tell it to do that, it's very slow and unresponsive sometimes. I kept reading all these things online about how this is the must-have music app, but so far it's not proven to me why it should cost so much.
I don't know how to describe this app, it does not sound good at all, I tried 3 dongles and all of them has this sort of veil in the upper mids and treble, I tried swithing from HibyMusic to this, and this app just muds everything in my music. I really don't understand the hype around this app. There's more nuances in the lower mids, but the higher regions are just unsatisfactory, they are low res even when EQed. This app makes my ZES, DQ6S, HM and ZEX Pro dark and veiled.
the UI has gotten a lot better, and as always it sounds great. That being said, there's one thing that still annoys me with this app. If I were to pause a song with like 15 seconds or so left in the song, it would just skip to the next one. I can see it being useful for some people, but it really annoys me and if there is a setting to turn it off I have not found it yet.
Horrible. Glitching all over the place with iBasso DC03, have to always cancel access; same with Tidal but also have to sometimes reconnect the Dac, especially if internet went away. It just stops and barely tries to continue when could. Cant open downloaded albums from Tidal, huge bummer.
So far this app is nothing short of excellent. Running my Galaxy Tab S7 into my ifi zen DAC V2 and sound quality is amazing. LED on dac changing colors as it should depending on stream quality, MQA etc. Edit: while the app works great on my tablet it refuses to work on my Galaxy S21 Ultra. Closes as soon as I try to open it.
Doesn't read meta data and embedded image properly Doesn't read meta data and embedded image for WAV files properly. Always fails to load embedded image, artist name and album artist name. I checked in poweramp for same file and it shows perfectly.. Please fix this
Now Album art show and disappeared on their owns. Folder is a mess. Good job developers team. . Your team need to improve on stability of this app and not to kill it with bugs as you progress to add update upon update. I only use this app for my music for everyday use. Sometimes I regret I hit that update button and I want to downgrade to stable version but I can't do that anyhow and anyway so.... Please consider this reason too.
Thank you, amazing sound, using it A&K PEE51, Bit Perfect mode! For those with the issue of DAC cutting off with screen OFF, please enable Developer Options and set the default value of the "Default USB configuration" to MIDI, you are welcome! Had the same issue with mine. Enjoy your sound!
Nice one to use with a usb dac. More than enough options to tweak the sound. But after the last update it has a big flaw, everytime you connect a usb dac there's a very loud sound spike, unless you first set the volume to zero, this is very harmful. And the app layout could be more well done/attractive
Sideloaded trial version works perfectly with my iFi dac on Pixel 6 Pro but I still can't install as device is marked incompatible, hate I paid for this but had to buy a different player to take advantage of my dac. EDIT: changed to 5 stars since support sent me a version of the app that takes advantage of the latest Android 12 beta update which other players were already leveraging. HiRes Direct driver and bitperfect playing with MQA decoding all work perfectly on my iFi hipdac2. Thanks!
If you have a USB DAC GET THIS! After I got a Dragonfly DAC I tried the 20 min demo. I never buy apps, but this was an instant purchase. I'm building a home stereo playing FLACs via the UPNP renderer and Tidal with MQA from Android instead of my gaming desktop. The extremely lower noise floor was shocking! and helped me decide between the different speakers I am demoing, the more revealing Klipsch Forte sounded worse with the PCs electrical noise. I love this app.
Exactly what i needed for my HiBy DAP. Cant get audio (hi-res & MQA via Tidal and other music services) to output through USB?! Now you can, and this app does it petfect! Everything you need is at your fingertips, and if you cant figure it out the support is stellar. Regular updates keep this glitch free and stable, I highly recommend USB audio player pro. Edit; This is still the only way to pass through MQA to your DAC. All others do the first unfold in the app and do not pass it through.
Superior listening experience, unfortunately for tidal buggy and crushy, when music is paused sometimes you can't resume it, sometimes you have to restart the app because it tells you you have no internet connection. For your own music files no such problems occur.
I think MQA is just another gimmick in audio, but its wrong. I feel the difference between playing reguler flac audio with MQA in Tidal, currently Im using USB DAC from LG B&O that support 32 bit 384 khz but it can't unfold MQA. With UAPP, gives me wide soundstage and better clarity on vocal, the cheapest option than buying expensive DAC that can unfold MQA. Worth every penny buying this apps. 3 things that makes this App better : Show lyric and credit like Tidal native app & improve the UI. Thx
The app is of a decent quality, I would like better information around the settings options to make more informed decisions on what is best for my set-up. The app has a basic look to it, but it is functional and seems to deliver the goods 🙂
Definitely easier to get MQA files to my USB DAC with this app, but being able to play MQA audio requires a second in-app purchase! A little irritated that wasn't clear up front, as this is already pricey for a music app.
The app is really great, but I'm facing something odd with my current configuration. I own an Earstudio ES100 BT receiver, which works great overall. But when it is used with UAPP and the balanced output of the receiver the volume is very low in UAPP. When I use the same set with traditional streaming app like Deezer for example, the volume perform a way better. That's really bizzare. Update: the application has a lower volume issue over Bluetooth. Everything works fine with Fiio Music i.e.
