UserTesting

So... I've been on User Testing for a year now, no problem on the browser platform, but I've never been able to start a test on the app, when I got invitations every day and I very often qualify. So much money lost! And when you report the error on the app, the send button doesn't work. Amateurs! I've sent emails to the user support, NOT A SINGLE ANSWER!! It doesn't only happens on my phone, I've tried on others, same. Such a disappointment, why bother publish a bugged app?

To be clear, I would like to separate my review of UserTesting as a service from my review of the app. As a service, UserTesting is an interesting way to make a little extra money in your spare time, and provide valuable feedback to companies on their digital products. The app, on the other hand, I find to be clunky at best. It takes 3 or 4 taps to find out if you even qualify for most studies. On their desktop application, you can typically figure out whether you qualify just by looking.

The UI is fluid but the loading elements are so not. Small elements like tests take much time to load. Also, please implement a notification system on phone to notify of potential screenings. Furthermore, it would be great if we could atleast screen for desktop moderated tests on phone and schedule a time.

I've not had any real problems with the app. It can occasionally be fiddly to navigate a test but that's more about my screen size, in my opinion, than the app itself. I've not had any issues with loading times or freezing or similar problems.

Usertesting is great, ive used it for less than a month now on my Google Pixel 4XL as well as on my computer. I've made around 100 dollars in this time, all has been paid timely and quickly. I will say that you will not qualify for but for me that is fine since I mostly leave the website in the background and do the tests when I hear the ding. Overall really good for someone like me who is in college and could always use a couple of extra bucks here and there

UserTesting is a great place to earn a spot of money -- not too much really but enough to make a difference and to make me very grateful that they exist. The app lets you do little tests, mostly of websites in development, on you phone -- and many of the tests offered are only for the phone. It can be a bit tricky to get the hang of -- the changing of settings, sharing of screen, tracking of "taps" and touches -- but once you figure out how to navigate that, things are smooth.

Like several others I've saw in the reviews, I've been fighting the endless loop of uninstalling, reinstalling only to have it to immediately prompt for an update for a few months. Yesterdays update fixed the problem and it has worked great since. Update - Almost a year and a half later and it's still working great.

This app is useful for getting short paid jobs helping companies test and refine their websites. It works well and is quite user friendly. Occasionally I've lost tests when leaving the app accidently. I get a message saying 'test in progress' but as yet I haven't been able to work out how to get back to the test when this happens. Overall though, it's a good little app.

I've had fantastic luck with this app. It's very user friendly and the tests are great. Legitimate money that I use for "fun" money alongside my job. The only thing that I don't like about the app is that it'll repeat tests that you've already declined and won't get rid of it. Eventually it goes away the next time you open it up though.

Works great without error. I just wish there were push notifications for tests! 2022 Update: I am still going strong and using this app to do tests - it's been a great experience! Simple to operate and very user-friendly.

I downloaded the app, I tried to create my account, it accepted the email, the username, the zip code but when it came to me creating the password,it brought an error which is keeping on repeating itself (I followed the password requirements ie Uppercase, lowercase and number),, I uninstalled and reinstalled but the same problem repeated itself,,, very disappointed because I can't do anything in the app

The app is just as it says it is. The first task they have you do is downloading a different app that's essentially like those retail coupon websites that you can make money by shopping through it. That threw me off at first because I didn't want to have to download apps every time to do a review, but luckily after that initial test the rest was easy. It's not going to make you rich but it is easy extra money. Best way is to just leave the website open and have the app, you'll most likely get at least 1 a day. Some days are slow and some have more, and you can decline tests that you don't want to do. They have higher value tests as well if one, but the $10 ones are my usual go to

Attempting to create an account, and the app keeps having errors. On the final step, while finalizing, keeps saying "somthing went wrong please try again later.". Nothing I've done has been able to fix this issue.

I joined User Testing about 10 days ago and so far I am super impressed. Not only do they pay well, but the tasks have been varied and interesting. 5 stars from me so far!! Update - still loving this app. Yes you get screened out of lots of the tests, but it's done very quickly, and doesn't waste your time like some surveys can do. My only small issue has been a couple of the phone tests that have disappeared on me while I have been following instructions on how to prepare my phone. I have completed lots of tests though, and get paid regularly. Love it!!

Overall, it is a great app. I find that you really need to have close to 1GB of FREE memory on the phone for it to work consistently well, but I have done tests with as low as 750K. Couple of things to watch out for when using the app. Be very careful after accepting a test around the audio test step, if you accidentally tap anywhere other than the pop up test audio button, you will lose it for some reason. When asked to download an app, it can be tricky. I found that if I download the app then use the square icon on android (bottom right) to see all active apps, I can switch back to user testing window that I came from to install the app, and it changes to allow you to start the test.

This app is easy to use, accessible and informational. I like it because the tests are right there, and you can easily decline if you're not suitable for a test. However, the app does crash occasionally and doesn't transition out of tests you need to quit or report a problem for. A newer feature is the "completed test" section, which has a lot of details about all the tests you taken. Overall, it's a good app.

I stuck at the create username and password section. They tells me there's something wrong, but didn't offer a solution, or alternative in order to move on with things. I just stuck there and unable to move forward, even though I have followed all ther equipment in setting up approved username and password. Very strange settings and need to be improved.

I am a tester or contributor since 2019. And so far this platform is a big help for freelancer. In the case of it's android app. sometimes the recorder will not work but I've experienced it maybe twice or thrice a year.

This app is great! It works 100% as intended. It's laid out well. I can see if a test is available through the app or through the web. I've been using this app frequently since 2019. I can monitor my ratings and completed tests. I'm actually shocked at how many low reviews there are here. I take tests through this app daily and have had zero issues with logging in (smooth) and zero issues with the microphone. The app tells me when I need to update and it works swimmingly.

Great for spare change. Not so sure about big bucks. You can if you get accepted for every test. Once you do land one, just stick to the protocol and you will get paid in 7 days and described.

I have been with UserTesting for over 4 years. They have really helped me through some hard times financially, and they are a pleasure to work with! The mobile app allows me to take tests easily, anywhere and at anytime! I like how the app always provides a small tutorial before each test to make it easier to take, and uploading tests is fast. No problems for me on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9! I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for some easy, extra cash!

The app is good and efficient. I just have a few suggestions to improve it though: 1. Kindly add a function to resume the test if we accidentally close the app 2. Add an audio level indicator similar to the one that is available in the web extension so that testers can always check if their audio is getting recorded correctly 3. Make it possible to move to previous steps in a task Adding these improvements would be really nice and would definitely improve the app experience for testers.

I've been doing User Tests for almost a year and it is a great way to earn some extra income. The user tests are interesting and easy to do. It's nice to get paid for my opinion and feed back. I've even found new products/services from the user tests I've completed. Sometimes it's frustrating that I go through 15-20 screeners and don't qualify for any but then other days I qualify for 3 or 4. I've recommended this app to all my friends & family!

Don't expect to make alot of money. A few dollars here and there. It is very hard to qualify for a survey. They are very very very picky on qualifying. You have to screen for 20 to get approved for 1. Wait 7 days to get paid. They should have a faster turn around to pay people. After all it's pay pal. It take minutes to send money. It doesn't make sense to make people wait 7 days.

The question is did this app go through any user testing at all. Firstly the intro video setting out how best to use the app is not very clear when it comes to the amount of control the user needs to surrender for the app to work. Never have I come across an app that requires developer options to be enabled for as it states microphone access and screen touches, app devs will use dev mode during the development Process (note to the devs dev mode is not needed just use app permissions in the API)

This app is great been using it for a few weeks now on a Samsung A30, it helps me earn some extra money which helps us get by. The install process was straight forward and without any issues and the app is none intrusive in my daily use of my phone. Would highly recommend this company and its app to anyone looking to earn extra cash.

I have been a tester for usertesting for about 8 years now and I have to say that I love being able to make money from home on my time... but I do have to admit that sometimes the app isn't the greatest. it can be quite finnicky and usually if something goes wrong with a test on my phone I'm unable to finish the test and then don't get paid. customer service is limited to a chatbot and email which can take longer to get issues resolved. I love the idea behind this company but I do think they have a ways to go before the app can have a very good reliable rating.

I've been a tester since late 2020 and while I wish the tests available had more lax restrictions for qualifications (there are plenty I would be able to take and help with but the qualifications are too strict) it is a good way to bring in a few extra $$ every now and then. Most certainly not any sort of reliable income, but it is legit and I have never had any issues with tests failing to upload. There are a few things that could be improved on. Testing websites failing to load, unable to go back to the testing home page at times. I have missed out on a few tests because of this.

So far so good! I've done a few tests. Got paid 10 dollars for my first one a week after. It's legit. The only thing that's hard about it is alot of test are hard to qualify for. Other than that it's pretty awesome and hassle free to earn money In the comfort of your own home. I'm glad it's possible.

I've been using the User Testing app for about a month and enjoy it a lot. The tests are fun and interesting. That doesn't mean there aren't a few drawbacks. Depending on your age range and working environment, you may not qualify for a lot of tests. But if you're doing it for fun, that's not a major problem. And getting paid for having some fun is nice too.
