A few changes such as in-app informed delivery and adding mobile app to the notifications list, not just text and email. Being able to name (in app) tracked items was a great feature... No Idea why this feature was removed. When mailing out several items at once it is much more difficult to decipher which is which going by nearly identical long numbers instead of being able to label each...ex: DMV, IRS, Town Hall.
The old (now discontinued) Informed Delivery app was so much better. This app does not save your login information and logs you out after each session which is incredibly inconvenient. Most of the features on the menu seem like hosted web pages, and are not native to the app. You're probably better off just using your browser.
The app is useful for many things, however one issue is that whenever you need to edit a scheduled pickup, it fails and shows an error screen. This has happened dozens of times on multiple devices, so it is definitely an issue with the app itself. Hope it gets fixed because otherwise the app is super useful.
I'm sure this app is helpful for those that do a lot of stuff with the post office. But if all you're here for is the Informed Delivery you're going to wish we still had the old app. It's clunky, it's sluggish, it takes 5 taps after opening the app to get to your mail(assuming your password is saved),and when you get to Informed Delivery you're literally just redirected to the browser version. I have an easier time keeping the Informed Delivery tab open in Chrome than with this app.
Although I do not have the app on my phone anymore due to space issues... It's an easier option instead of having to navigate through the actually website itself (even though it's layout is the exact same). I found the website to be laggy which results in taking longer to complete the task at hand. I found this app useful to check what's in my PO Box via e-mail (after opting in for that feature), rather than physically having to go when I'm looking out for a particular piece of mail / parcel.
My main use of this app is checking Informed Delivery. Images of the day's mail are quite helpful! Knowing of packages that are to be delivered is also very helpful. It would be great if there was a way to indicate when mail having no image wasn't received. Magazines are in that category. Also, there's no way to report that a package reported as delivered wasn't received. In spite of the limitations I mentioned, it's a great app to have. I rely on it daily.
It's a great app. My only complaint and hence 4 stars is the hold mail function. The Post Office does not execute very well on it. I sometimes do not get a confirming email. Mail gets delivered during hold mail period. It's dysfunctional. It is one thing to have a function button on an app. It is another to execute on it.
Reduces 2 stars as one can no longer name the package to expect. When you click on the long line of numbers it acts a link to the USPS to get disposition. When you expect several packages a random set of numbers serves no purpose. Easy to use. Easy to follow packages. Love the hold mail feature for vacations. So nice to enable to do all from your phone. A must have app. Great staff at our post office top.
A great app. So far I've only used the 'informed delivery' part of the app, which is why I downloaded it. It shows me all the mail I SHOULD be getting but DON'T receive. It has a convenient box where you can check off ' didn't receive this mail' but so far after checking the box 7 or 8 times in the last month, I've yet to hear from anyone at the USPS on the status of my mail.
