I thought this app was quite informative assuming it's correct. But it doesn't seem accurate. It says the current UV rating is moderate until a certain time but when I go into look at the my skin tab, it always says safe. To me it feels like it's not really working if it keeps telling me my skin is safe regardless of what time it is... Also received a sexually explicit push notification a few weeks ago...It has since been fixed. Seems like this app needs improvement. I like the user interface tho
I love the app, very useful for someone who is trying to be better about protecting against the sun. However, the widgets are quite ugly. I would love to see a widget where only the number is displayed (with a few colour options for different wallpapers) on a clear background.
Enjoying this app, find it very useful to help prevent overexposure to UV damage from the sun and generally help maintain awareness of the likelihood of that happening. The design is minimalistic and the information is well-presented. There was a small security snafu but they resolved it promptly. Would recommend.
Reapplication reminder didn't work. There was no notification. "My skin" settings were not saved to my account. Had trouble with the connection and reinstalled the app. Logged back in to my account and none of my settings were saved/retrieved. Suddenly only getting "connection failed" messages. Tried to send an email to the support (mail address from the website)... But my mail was blocked/rejected. Will update the review once the issues are resolved.
I still need to use it more during the vacation but it seems very useful. I would like to suggest to take into consideration about 8% of users who will have difficulties distinguishing reds, oranges and greens. Not an expert but perhaps using blue instead of green would help many more visually. Thanks!
My favorite UV app. Recently, I've gotten a spam message over push notifications and contacted the developer. They've replied on the issue, and let me know that the app itself was not compromised "We’ve identified that a 3rd party notification service had been compromised. A spammer has sent out a very inappropriate message through their network, including to some of our users. Please be assured that the app itself has not been compromised and your phone is safe" I appreciate the transparency!
Great app. I kind of wish it had historical data and forecasted more than one day ahead, but it's quick and easy to check every morning. I love the dial that lets you see exactly what time the UV is highest. I haven't used the sunscreen application reminders yet, but just having the app on my home screen has made me more diligent about remembering to apply SPF. Love it!
Good app, looking forward to seeing updates & improvements. Has a widget too that is good to have. Unfortunately, on my Samsung A50 the text on the larger widget does not display properly (it is too high for its container so you cannot read it). Also both widgets are way too short - they use very little of the screen height that they take up / occupy.
Edit: thanks, it was restored Edit: it keeps given an error that it's unable to connect. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. I uninstalled. It's a pity. I really liked it. I love it. Very useful information. The widget isn't spaced quite right, but apart from that it's great!
Could be better. The notification for reapplication of sunscreen doesn't work unfortunately and sometimes the UV index numbers are not consistent. Just because it's 6 pm doesn't mean the UV is 0. The sun is still out and my weather app shows 1 or 2.
New: Appreciate quick resolution to third-party push notification/security issues. Will give this app another shot, as I do think it's reliable. Old: Like many other users, uninstalled due to pornographic notification. Assume app has been hacked. Sad, because the app worked well otherwise. Not worth the security risk.
I mainly use the widget to know what the UV index is. I put it right under my weather widget. Works really well, but it would be even better if the widget also told me when the information was last updated. No big deal though since I can tap it to open the app.
I really liked the app so far, it's very useful. The only thing that annoys me is that in dark mode the temperature and time are barely visible as they become pale light blue. I hope it gets corrected soon
I've been using this app for years, and really enjoy the formats, widgit, and custom skin alert options. I uninstalled quickly when the pornographic spam message went through, as I was concerned about the app being a security ossue, but downloaded it again as soon as I saw the dev's message. I hivho recommend ghis app, and could only live without it for a few days.
Very well designed app, informative and Very important specially in very hot countries. But there are still room for innovation in widgets or simple notification to keep the app engaging, alerts, calendars, or other.
I used to use this app religiously because it was never wrong. Never. But recently, it's never right. Never. Right now it says it's a 3, it's actually 6. That's three off. I have a skin condition that causes rashes and physical illness if I'm out in the sun. I have to know the correct UV index. This needs to be fixed. There are people who absolutely have to have a correct app and depend on them. Please fix. Oh, and its clear outside. Absolutely no clouds what so ever so ask. Just fix please.
I've used this app for years and it has been amazing. However, recently it's stopped providing accurate UV. I realized this the other day because it told me I could be outside for a certain period of time and then I got a sunburn. Current it says the UV index is 2 while my weather app says 5. I'd really appreciate if you could fix this so I can go back to loving this app!!!
Handy app especially since I live in a coastal southern area. My only issue is that the uv index isn't accurate. It says the UV index is 6 when it's actually 11. The temperature is accurate though.
It only takes current index into account when calculating duration in the sun. Instead it should integrate the curve. 🌞 The app takes up 1.5GB(!) classified as "data", not "cache" on my device.
While I haven't had any direct problems with data from this app, I recently received an explicit notification push from it, followed almost immediately by a corporate apology push. I'm otherwise one to let that slide and get on with my day, but the concept of their back end being compromised really bothers me. I've uninstalled it and until I know more, can't recommend giving them any personal or demographic data.
amazing application, does what it is intended to do which is tell the UV index. the app is completely free and works very well. no lag an no bugs so far, in the settings page you can choose if youd like to view the temperature in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit, it also gives you the option to put the UV index Value at the center of the home page so you can easily see it as soon as you open the app. you can also use your finger and scroll around the circular clock to view uv index by time.
