UVO eco is a Kia Motors America's telematics service that provides the following features:

1. Remote commands: Lock or unlock your car, start or stop the climate control, or start or stop a charge.2. Vehicle Status: View real time information about your vehicle's battery, range, door locks, and climate control.3. Reservation: Schedule when your vehicle should charge and when your climate control should run.4. Find My Car: Find the location of the vehicle and navigate to it.5. Find Charging Stations: View a map of the charging stations in your area.6. Roadside Assist: Contact Kia Roadside Assistance Program with just one click.

Positive experience so far, but it could really benefit from having widget capabilities. Often by the time I've opened the app, scanned fingerprint, synced with car, and turned on ac, I'm already at my car. one touch climate control from my phone's home screen would make it so much quicker and effective. Widgets would definitely bump this to a 5 star review.

Stores password and login (encrypted) in xml. Sometimes useful, , but buggy and clunky. First, password and login are stored encrypted in a file com.kma.eco.fingerprint.task.xml. This practice is strongly discouraged by Google. Access to this app allows vehicle to be unlocked. Very bad practice. Crashes when battery, charging calendar is clicked. When battery is pressed, app shows estimated charging time for both Level 1 & 2 charging. But when plugged in during peak period, only shows level 2 estimates, even when Level 1 us pressed. Sometimes, when reserved charging off is pressed, this feature is permanently turned off, rather than just for one time use. Above issues reported to Kia. Good news, human support. Bad news, support not great. Addition: Yes, I have talked to support at Kia Uvo, and have included my VIN. Support is not particularly informed, and I don't see progress with complaints, though they do close tickets without fixing problems.

Requires one log in even though my phone is PW protected. A real annoyance especially with a long password. It would get a one star for this alone. The new app requires a newer OS ("incompatible with your device") then I have. Do they check to see how many have an older OS? Looks like I'm stuck with this app. Instead of fixing it, one gets a "Hello Bob - If you need further assistance..." Reply: No autofill on my phone. If people use autofill, it's rather useless and a waste of peoples' time to go through having password access. Why bother having password access? Lawyers involved here? How about a way to disable using a password? I would think someone thought this through before?

So sad to see Kia has abandoned this application. It has not been updated for over a year and there so many issues with this app. Lately it has become almost completely unusable. Kia servers must be overloaded as 9 out of 10 times you would get login errors and time-outs. If you ever manage to login just try to sync and updating the status of the car will cause another set of errors. The app has the same issues on any mobile device Apple or Android it makes no difference. The issues are definitely not on the user side but on the Kia server side. Reaching out to kiaconsumeraffairs will do no help unless Kia recognizes the issues and tries to fix them. But seeing that the app has not been touched by Kia developers for over a year is not a good sign. It feels so bad especially now in the bitter cold of the arctic vortex not being able to start the Climate remotely.

It doesn't work more often than it does. The most needed feature- remote start - fails to send a request, the app cannot establish the connection to get status... The app requires upgrades, no releases for 12 months! For instance, another uvo app (for kia optima) is being in more active development.

Very unreliable. Have to make multiple attempts to connect and even then some functions have never worked. It seems like each little function is a separate api call instead of combining some returned data. Also no updates in 1.5 years and counting? I have gotten used to having an app for the car but now I need it to work

Scheduling climate with this app is horribly slow and inaccurate. I find that if it even does work, that the temp is not set correct when i check it in the vehicle. This has always been bad since I purchased the car. I wish Kia would fix this. Updated to one star because negative stars is not possible. I will be thinking twice before ever getting another Kia. This is a POOR user experience!!

90% of the time my climate control wont connect. I have tried different areas in my home and also standing right next to the vehicle. It is never consistant. It seems to take an awfully long time to log in and sync each screen.

Horrible app. it generally takes 3-4 tries before your able to connect to your vehicle. Bye theat time you could have walked outside and not only started your vehicle but also set the climate control. This issue alone with other should be address.

love this app! not sure why it gets so much hate. but for my 2017 Optima it works incredibly well. i can lock and unlock the doors remotely, check my battery level and even see where i parked. so good.

Sometimes gets the job done, slowly. Connection and password function like an app from fifteen years ago. Frequent crashes and no updates since 2017. If Kia wants to be an EV contender they'll need to make this app near perfect.

Took several attempts but it finally managed to enable the Climate function from my BLU Android phone. It can also tell me if the doors are locked and let me lock or unlock them. Can also tell me where the car is.

Connecting to a 2018 Kia Niro PHEV with no issues; however, when I click the scheduled charging on the battery screen the app crashes 100% of the time.

I have a Kia Niro PHEV, bought in August 2018. Pre starting the climate is my main use for UVO ECO. It used to let me login about 75% of the time, and set the climate about 75%, in other words about 50% of the time I could actually start the climate system. Kind of frustrating. Recently my successful login rate is maybe 50%, and ultimate success in starting the climate has been maybe 5%. This is extremely frustrating! Especially since I had hoped to use it to clear off frost.

Downgrading from original rating of 3 stars. What an unmitigated nightmare UVO is. Not enough space to list but horrible horrible horrible. I feel bad for the intern on these reviews that has to keep responding 'send me your info'. So don't bother. My biggest complaint is that it is virtually impossible to find out that this is the correct app rather than the other UVO apps. What a painfully bad execution of a strategy. The other complaint I have is that this app requires you to log in EVERY time. My bank doesn't, but apparently Kia things I should. What nonsense is that? Good grief. Get a clue. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND WITH SEND ME YOUR INFO WE'LL HELP. I'm not having issues....this app has issues. Hopefully someone can hire an actual app developer or two that are reputable and put a few dollars of development money into it rather than let it languish.

This app has come a long way. Making it better will probably require some infrastructure and bandwidth upgrades to the vehicles. If the car could just send it's state of charge to the server each time it's parked, it could be a great user experience. Good job implementing fingerprint support!
