Usless because Android Auto overrides the very few useful functions and the 2 apps will not run together. I have recently installed waze and that app works reasonably well WITH Android Auto. I would recommend uvo developers look at that app and try to rewrite their app to work in a similar way. Android Auto connects automatically so you have to be parked and jump through hoops (with your touch screen) to even get to the uvo app. Niro 2017.
Bought the K900. I tried to build POIs from the UVO app. The intent was to download them to the navigation system via Bluetooth from the phone app. The app does not allow you to build POIs. It does have a 911 call feature I hope I never have to use. Otherwise I'm not sure there's a tremendous amount of value in the UVO program.
The app is totally useless first you have to use a USB to use it. I have found parking finder apps that work off Bluetooth when you leave the car. Same with android auto I can stream music on Bluetooth another useless feature. I keep getting emails on great features nothing seems to work.
just got a brand new kia forte, was super excited to use the feature,app, for my new vehicle, then Quickly became super disappointed, the app literally only worked all of 3 days and then stopped completely. Try to uninstall reinstall log in log out nothing seem to make any difference. App still doesn't function, Just really disappointed that this uvo feature was touted as one of the Hi Tech offerings of this car and it doesn't work. More Disappointing app Hasn't been updated since 3/ 18
I am disappointed that the remote start, unlock/lock, controling heated seats/ stearing wheel, and climate control is not a feature in this app for my 2018 kia soul!. This is what i was really looking forward to. from what i have read it is available in canada but not in usa? please fix. this is a key feature to have.
Most people who left one star reviews don't know how technology works. Period. The app works well over USB connection as it is required for the car to have internet. It will not work of you use Android Auto or CarPlay because WHY? The apps that UVO uses, ie basically Pandora, has a separate app for Carplay and Android Auto. It's great that KIA includes this for free with their cars.
I just got a Kia Soul ! (exclaim version) and for the life of me, can't get my Asus Zenfone 4Max (Android 7.1.1) to set this up. I've tried a dozen different ways: It "sees" the phone via bluetooth pairing but does NOT with UVO. Thus, can't register/set up the car. Went to the UVO site and manually registered the car by VIN#. Won't let me log in on laptop or phone or car. I've tried swapping out USB cables, setting up wifi from my home, resetting phone, endless un/re-install of apps (both Android Auto and UVO)- Google Play continues to FAIL. Tried working with Kia phone support to the same result. BTW- I have a solid working knowledge of computer hardware and software. FED UP.
Does not work with my phone (says it is compatible) and car (niro hybrid) Car does not recognize phone is attached via usb. Tried 3 different cables, phone says connected as media so data ok. Problem may be there are 6 versions. Dealer could not tell me which one to use.
This is useless app. Cannot run android auto and UVO simultaneously. Needs connected through USB. No remote start, cannot lock/unlock with climate control car. KIA you have all these features and more in Canada's app. I own a 2019 sorento sxl v6. Very disappointed.
The application is severely inundated. You have to connect the phone to the USB port. The vehicle has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Why can I cannot connect with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? You cannot update the system in for Mason such as the navigation system and update the map.
Unfortunately, I agree with the majority of KIA customers with the low rating of this app. I'm very surprised that KIA techs could not match or even do better than the other dealer apps. I traded my Chevy Malibu for the KIA Sorento and was very "disappointed" with the app features....even after receiving this latest notice of app improvement from KIA. You still don't match other dealer apps with your features. I need not list the lack of features because so many other customers have already pointed them out.
had my kia for over a year..never been able yo use this service...finally realized that i have to have a usb cable..ummm i use my fast charger from the manufacture and it has no usb...i never realized i have to use another cable i dont have in my car..for this to work properly. no wonder i never have given this more time. smh. im fine with my androids functionality and help. no need for extra cables and cords n my car. bluetooth people!!! bluetooth!!!
it is very unhelpful, does not let me update my poi's, "help" section does not let me expand info to a readable font. difficult to use, doesn't seem to do much. does not work through Bluetooth well
This app actually works better than your most recent one. I'm clueless as to why the (do not use) version connects automatically and your other version doesn't. Get it together and provide us Kia owners with a superior app.
Well, disappointed to learn that I cannot use the UVO / Android Auto feature which I was sold on when buying my New 2016 Kia Forte5 SX, 2 years ago. Took it on its first long trip this holiday and guess what, learned UVO not compatable prior to 2017 models, even though it is in my 2016 vehicle! This is just one of many issues I have had with the purchase of this vehicle, it is sad because I really like my vehicle. Visually this feature is a need for me, Kia be consumer mindful please.
This app is horrible. KIA is a dependable car, but don't expect the latest apps to actually work. Ridiculous. I installed and uninstalled within 20 mins. None of the directions were correct for my 2016 Soul.
I have had my kia serento for 5 years. Never had a problem using this app. Ive had 3 different phones and this app downloads and preforms perfect. Sync's right up to my car and works great!
can't connect. useless. my 2014 soul with navigation won't connect to this app either by USB or bt. newer Kia app crashes before it even loads. total incompetence. screw Kia. never again. they make you pay for map updates when all other cellphone map updates are FREE. this is a scam in my opinion. f-off! I'm buying Nissan or Honda next time.
This app is not very good. I owned a 2012 optima sxt and traded for a 2104 sxl. i was a able to update the 12 and some 14. I can not update service for my 2017 sxl. Kia service is helpless. They know nothing. complained gas tank size and mileage and they claim is within their allowed margin of error. Theyve had a loyal customer and have lost me
I have a 2016 Sportage EX which I like very much except the multimedia system that doesn't work with my android phone. I've tried Android Auto but it's not good enough.
Have never able to get connected with only my android phone. It isn't convenient to use USB only. I love my 2017 Niro, however the app should work like advertised.
What can I say about UVO... I will say how useless this app is for me. even though I bought a used CPO 2015 Optima EX loaded to the neck, I have yet been able to activate the system. even with a new device.
My review went from a 3 star to a 5 star. I emailed my problem and a day later I got a call and he told me what to do. I wasn't an app problem it was an operator (me) problem .The app works perfect! Thanks for the call :)
Why aren't remote start and climate control available on the Kia Stinger through this app for the US market? They're available everywhere else; without those features the app feels rather pointless.
does not update the mileage nor anythig else. it did it the first day i connected my phone. i dont mind the usb connection at all. i just want the information to update Everytime i connect my phone
This is useless...I spent $47,000 on a 2019 Cadenza and I cant even remote start my vehicle! Kia doesnt offer remote start and the salesmen lied to us and said with the Uvo we would be able to start the car with our phones. Kia is soo behind in technology its stupid. We were planning on trading in our van to get the Sorento...definitely not happening! The only thi g Kia has going for them is the warranty they have...but that's only gonna carry them so far. People want to get their moneys worth.
your website specifically says that UVO works with android auto - I thought maybe I did see the wrong but almost every review says it doesn't. I'd rather use android auto, since I'm being forced to choose
It was easy to "install", just sign into the app it gives you an access code, then go to UVO services app in the car and put in the access code. It always starts on the first try, even from the 3rd floor of my manufacturing plant which doesn't get great cell service. I also love how you can control the temp and turn on the heated functions like my heated steering wheel so I can have a nice warm car all set for me in the winter :)
