It's a fine app. Issues with loading sometimes. I like the calendar/schedule and the fact that it can be exported. I wish we could manage event registrations from our phones; it's a hassle to need a computer on you to cancel or register for an event.
App does not open in the most recent change/update. It just gets stuck saying that an error has occurred and doesn't tell me why. It is ironic that this University is so focused on tech, yet it could not make the app run with the most recent update.
My go-to app for campus life and the amazing events going on out there. Some features that have been of tremendous help to me are: A) It lists out all the upcoming registered events so I don't have to go the portal website and/or merge my Google Calendar there. B) It provides links and descriptions of all the researches and publishings led by UWaterloo students or professors. That serves as a moment of pride and drives me to work more. C) Analysis of weekly weather reports helps a lot. Cheers!
I loved the old Portal app, so useful and convenient. Deserving of a five star rating, for sure. This new version? Not so much. Most of the useful features have been completely removed in favour of a "clean UI." I will gladly restore my previous review once the old features are all back.
The new app removed all the useful widgets!!! I can't even check my watcard balance anymore. The map is gone too. To be honest, the redesign looks worse than the original.
I downloaded this one because the old one doesn't seem to want to work, but for all I got out of it I might as well have not bothered. The UI is terrible and doesn't give near as much information as the old app
Uwaterloo portal is a very handy app created for uwaterloo students. I like the UI, the black and gold design. By using this app I can see today's agenda and the events for which I have registered for. Also I can check in academics what courses I enrolled for and can check learn announcements. One can check campus life events, various services offered by the University. Aslo it is amazing that I can check my WATCARD balance and meal plans. Overall it an app needed for a UW student.
After update, app crashes on startup. Widgets and customizable home screen were removed, removing almost all of the decent features of the old version.
It is a great app to keep up with what's happening on campus and your own classes. Also love the customized feature where everything is planned out on the calendar according to your own schedule.
This app is trash compared to old portal app. They took out a bunch of useful widgets and changed up the look. That's it, nothing useful was really added.
Downgrade from the old portal with less features and more bugs, even small things like switching tabs too quickly will freeze the app, and alert info have also been wrong.
Although not perfect the recent update has made the app useful and smooth. I appreciate the work and hope it continues to improve its functionality.
Improved updates. Shows updating calender and WatCard balance and class schedule which is convenient. Does not freeze anymore.
I personally like as I am able to see clearly the deadline and book for ang upcoming event . What is more interesting is that it shows my watcard balance so i dont have to go to SLC and check my balance.
Only gave it one star cause 0 wasn't an option. Haven't been able to open app without app crashing since the update. Please just give the old app back.
Should not have launched the new app until functionality was on par with the old app. It's useless in its current state.

UW gets ridiculed for stuff that's completely in their control and this app is just another example. First came dysfunction from what was a near perfectly functional app when it first released in 2016 to what it has now become, a literal waste of storage space. I stopped using the app for all but one widget after a few months because of the bugs introduced with every new update, but now even that feature AND EVERY OTHER FEATURE which made this app worth downloading and using is completely gone.
