I solely rely on this app for figuring out which weeks include garbage pickups and which don't, as well as the dates. The notifications are concise and don't bug you with irrelevant information, I rarely have the need to open the app itself. It has other handy features like a search function for items when you're unsure how to dispose of them, but I don't use them and thus can't accurately evaluate them. Personally, I'm happy with the app.

This app used to work well when I first downloaded it to my phone, but a few updates ago it stopped showing me the dates for any pickups. All I can see are the symbols, but I don't know the exact date of the pickup until I receive the reminder the night before. Similarly, the waste wizard feature also doesn't work for me anymore. If I'm lucky, I'll see the garbage/recycling symbol for the item I want to dispose, but otherwise, I get a mostly blank screen.

Many of the lines in your questionnaire are much too long, even when I turn my phone phone sideways. At the very least, each question should begin on a new line. The display area on my phone is approximately 2.5 inches wide and 5.25 inches tall. So still only 5.25 inches wide if I rotate the phone. Yes, I can scroll horizontally, but I have a newsletter to get out, and this response is only happening because your bad layout was sufficiently annoying.

App is helpful as it gives me reminders of recycle and garbage pick-up the day before. As another also posted, it would be great if the app would allow reporting of recycling or garbage not being picked up. We usually don't have our recycling picked up at least once or twice a month having us always having to contact Smithrite.

This app is always useful as one often forget and check.

Good reference. My only complaint is that it doesn't show recycling. Could also reduce the intro text so I don't have to scroll to see the next pickup time. I really liked the notification about no pickup during the snow.

I get the notifications most times but the app is empty of information. It's been like this for a while. No dates, no content. Just icons. Have not been using it for a while now. It would be nice also to have information when they garbage pickers can not come over, and to know when they can make it instead.

Great method to keep ongoing awareness of pick up dates. I found that I don't receive emails as a heads up warning. That would be nice. Also given the pick up is weekly if they miss me for some reason it's very easy to just wait for the next pick up.

Many bugs fixed over time and much more reliable than even a year ago. Most recently, significant improvements to the waste wizard. This is now a must-have and go-to app for anyone living in Vancouver. Well done, city and devs!

Overall pretty useful/seamless app. Sometimes I think the reminders come a little too late. I also think they could improve the wizard function. Sometimes I'm still unclear which bin an item goes into.

This app has been very useful since day 1 to avoid paper schedule, on top of that you can set up your reminders, create cases for issues with recycling and get the latest news regarding recycle services. Very well done! 👍🏽

Awesome and super helpful! Although I wish there was a way to report our garbage not getting picked up. It's happened like 6 times and it's frustrating. Not the app's fault though!

Pretty useful. It's nice to be reminded automatically when collection day is, it's just a pity that recycling in my area is farmed out to a private company so it doesn't tell us our recycling collection day. So far it's always seems to be the same as the garbage and green bin collection but AFAICT there's no guarantee of that.

Issues timely reminders when to put out the garbage, green, and blue bins. Also has a search facility on where to recycle items that cannot go into the blue bin.

Great app, would definitely recommend to any Vancouver resident! Easy to use and timely reminders to put out my waste/recycling. Also tons of info on what I can and cannot recycle.

I hate the 'green' political theater of Vancouver's waste collection division. I'm giving this app only two stars, not because I disagree with their politics, but because the only value of this app is the pick up reminders, and you can simply import their google calendar into your calendar app thereby not needing this app at all.

Notifications are totally reliable now. Waste wizard search engine is great! It links local charitable organizations, buy/sell/trade forums, and even consignment stores for things like furniture, fabric, and clothes. Love that it's encouraging sustainable reuse.

Great app to remind you when to put the trash or recycling out. It will notify you if something is out of the ordinary like there is a heavy snow and they won't pick up.

Super useful for getting the trash + recycling pickup times. If only those times would stay more consistent...

Great so far! The reminders are super helpful and I love being able to look up items in order to recycle them or dispose of them correctly.

What's not to like? It useful, accurate and free. Reminders on my phone are much better than having a printed schedule on my fridge. It's a great service.

Easy to use. I get reminders for garbage, compost and recycling. Plus, you can look for info about how/where to recycle virtually anything.

Very good ressource to get all info you need about recycling, schedule...The weekly reminder for waste collection is a life saver! I recommend!

I set my address and never even open the app. The push notification telling me the night I need to put out my garbage, recycling, and/or green bin works flawlessly.

great reminder, and notifications allow me to set out bins and recycling in a timely manner as we all have busy lives.

Love this app. Although i only check it for when is the next pickup day. I also love how they add a calendar to your calendar app.

I wish the results for the wizard search did a better job at CLEARLY stating in bold letters at the top of the page which bin goes in. Is a bread bag recyclable or not?? I don't understand the results from the wizard search.

hey it tells me when garbage pickup is and what type of pickup it is (garbage, recycling, green bin) and it also mentions about community recycling events and whatnot. Very useful

A must-download for Vancouver residents: moved here recently and this app has been amazing for understanding and searching up what goes where. Very very helpful.
