Vannya - Your Digital Bird Guide

Great app. I found it via Instagram ads. I have since, regularly checked the bird of the day. Vocalization feature is just awesome. Premium subscription gives access to check the habitats and distribution of a bird in Indian map. Other than that, many useful information is available in the app. I am new to birdwatching and I just enjoy using this app to expand my knowledge. Thank you team Vannya😊

Was initially a fan, not anymore. Requires too many permissions. Other apps like Merlin allow you to use without giving contact or phone permissions. Even if i do allow these, the app isn't allowing me to use it ,saying "network unavailable" or "connect to WiFi". Despite having both wifi and 4g. In my limited experience of being a birder for 20 is years, I don't often encounter birds where there is WiFi or AC, often there's not even a phone signal, app must work offline.

Installed it and uninstalled it immediately. Not sure why do they need permissions to see my contacts or permissions for calls.

I really like the idea of having such an app, but this is the second time I have tried to install this in two years and have uninstalled it in a few hours. I was hoping the app has become more stable, usable and reliable. The search does not work well. It's hard to know what the icons are for. it's hard to know if the icon is clicked on/off both shows in subtle shades of grey. Also the app is slow. I remember having these same issues two years ago too.

Slow app, crashes a lot. Asks for a lot of private info including access to contacts and making phone calls.

Unnecessary permissions.... App asking for permissions like contact details and managing phone calls. Why would you need those ??? Immediately uninstalling this app.. !!

Too slow. Has an excellent database and detailed features such as Bird ID pointers and bird call audio clips, but its so slow that you can't tell whether its working on something or not. Please work on fixing this issue before bird enthusiasts look for better apps.

Installed it after reviewing on Instagram and post installation unable to login :(. Really frustraing for asking permission again and again ...

Hello Vannya team, when I try to login it says that the user is already logged in on another device, which shouldn't be true. I tried changing the password and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. But it still shows up the same error. I have a paid/full subscription. Please help.

Every time I launch the app it searches for wifi connection and does not launch if wifi is not available. This happens even though my cellular data connection is on. The app totally ignores the cellular data connection. This needs to rectified. Using MiA2, Android P with Jun 2019 security patch.

Very Fishy. Installed and had to uninstall it immediately as so many controls we're wanted by the app. when people are asking the App team why you need to control my phone calls and my entire contact list, they tell to read-up their policy but wont directly answer the question beyond that they want to make the experience better and notifications - how so by controling my phone calling ability? no other birding / nature app needs that. this one looks Very Fishy.

Your app is great help but need little upgraded regarding interaction, speed and it lags most of time. Do add option to figure out / search birds as per region wise like state or district or platue/range/(for e.g deccan, himalyan) with maps and their migration routes if possible.

So, they need access to my contact list. I understand why certain apps require permission but I dont think so, you guys have to access my contact list to give me bird information. Also signing up with your mobile number is required. Dont sign up people, this app seems really shady.

collects unnecessay personal info for registration, asks unnecerry permissions to contacts/calls even for free app, did not work after revoking permission, uninstalled it

It's a good app for birders. Less star as the app is very slow.

Better than useless, you are not able to identify your own search, you have to find out the birds , and then compare with the characteristics so that you can identify the birds, this app is just a database of birds with out image search capability, it is not useful for beginner

Search by picture mode needed to find and identify the picture we capture

Pictures selection are very good. Location map is well defined. The description given is crisp and lucid. The bird sounds are really awesome.

Why does a bird guide need access to my contacts and need permission to make and manage phonecalls? Something very fishy and suspicious. Not going to work without these permissions. Very fishy and suspicious. Cannot allow this, uninstalling immediately.

Lots of bugs need to fix. Need offline support like Merlin.

I am unable to access the app. Keeps saying"User already logged in from another device". Tried uninstalling and installing multiple times but to no avail. Even changing password did not help.

I just downloaded this app. After start, sign up is compulsory. Permission to access your contacts is also mendatory. So, I did not signed up and uninstalled it. Why you want to access contacts??

The app is asking for permission to manage my calls and wants access to my contacts. It has nothing to do with my phone book and call management. It seems it is stealing data. It needs to be red flagged.

good: it is such an amazing app. almost a complete field guide that a birder might need. very meticulously designed. not so good: there are bugs which prevent tio log in. app often hangs or shuts down. pl update our asap.

Liked the concept of educating us on birds. However, the app has a bug as it should not be restricted to one phone. I have changed my phone and am unable to access the app

I am trying this app for the second time. Guys your initiative is praise worthy, but your app is crappy! 1. It asks for wifi connection even when you are connected to one. 2. Why do you need so much of user details for creating an account? 3. Its damn slow! Do something on these lines.

I am new to birdwatching. This app really helped me to know more about birds. User interface is easy and engaging.

Very Happy while Downloading... and After Downloding very disappointing.. I can't understand you guys are sharing information than why you want to access our contact list. I don't know why... registration is okay... but other contact it's too much.... I don't recommend to install this app... I uninstalled it...
