Excellent. In IVSI mode it responds instantly. Have not tried it in flight yet. The "samples" setting is supposed to allow you to trade off response time (lag) vs smoothness, but doesn't seem to do anything at all (at least in IVSI mode). Even so, 5 stars.
Thanks, great work, I easily modified it so now runs in backround, has continuous sink tone and a blueflyvario-like fast beeping light thermal indicator. Now this is the vario of my dreams!
Update, hey Igor. that app is great again with sound Start/stop setting. Hi Igor, that would be 6* if there is sound indicator. Update has sound as request! Supper Dupper!! Please make it running in background!
The sound is nothing like it should be. It beeps even when stationary. Not useful for paragliding, but good for anything that does not require sound feedback.
Can you please make it be able to run in the background?
Tried it while flying. It was erratic and inaccurate. Told me I climbing during a dive. Edit: Just landed, tried the alt static source acft VSI underread but stable. App continued to be erratic I'm afraid.Samsung S3
Does what it says, though would be useful to calibrate - especially automatically through inferometry with GPS speed, ie. Total Energy ;-) As someone else has proposed, it would be absolutely fantastic integrated with Accurate Altimeter.
Simple, single-purpose, and effective. Seems pretty adaptable too

On an LG G3 running Marshmello I can't figure out how to get to the settings mode.
I like it but what does the sample size do in settings?
Does exactly what it says it does. It would be nice if this program was intergrated with the author's other one (Sensitive Altimeter), perhaps as a pointer moving around the outside or a tape in landscape mode. But great as it is!
The last update causes the app to hang after a half hour to an hour or so. This is on two different devices with two different versions of Android. I wish I had backed up the APK before updating! Now I can't go back. After hanging, we have to close and restart the app. My other criticism is lack of documentation. It is great to be able to adjust the parameters, but they are not intuitively obvious, and I am an engineer!
