Varsity Tutors Video Tutoring

The app has worked well for me because it enables me to do everything I usually would do in the website in a mobile setting. It usually keeps itself updated with changes made on the website, but this is one area in which it sometimes falls short.

Hello There is an issue with the app. I am getting text notifications about new opportunities, however when I go into the app - the new opportunities are not showing. The last date of opportunities I am seeing is from May 5th. I have cleared cache and data in addition completely reinstalled the app - still the same issue.

About a year ago I was using this to make some extra money as a tutor and it was pretty good. You could look at the opportunities listed and there would be columns with one row for each opportunity. One of these helpful columns was the rate. That is gone now. Just now, I completed a tutoring session and discovered afterwards that the rate was $7.50!!! So I just worked for less than minimum wage. That's illegal.

I am new to Varsity Tutors, but I feel lucky to have been accepted as an English tutor. Their screening process is commendable as they really make sure they hire the right people who can make a positive difference in the learning experience of their students.

Great for our 8 year old. She loves it! Great teachers that understand how to work with each child the way they need to learn better.

I haven't used a tutor yet (just started account), but the customer support has been impressive (quick communication & fixing issues caused on my end). It could change once I actually start, but they deserve 5 stars out of the gate.

I just started using Varsity Tutors and is been great. The process of starting was an ease and they got back pretty fast when I requested to be contacted. The tutor is very knowledgeable and makes lessons easy to understand. I definitely recommend Varsity Tutors.

The tutors are very helpful, make sure that you understand the material and do a great job at communicating with you. The school itself does an amazing job at assisting you with anything and everything and really do care about your experience.

This is been an awesome experience for my two grandchildren. Their tutor Natasha is very tuned in, always thinking ahead and very compassionate. The site is wonderful. The kids can see their tutor and work with them on a virtual board. And the sessions are recorded so the kids can rewatch them and the parents can see how things are going as well. It's an incredible program.

There is a learning curve once you complete the onboarding process. The learning platform is very user friendly. Nice way to work from home, help students and generate some income.

Terrible customer service for their tutors. There is no difference between a tutor that has a 200 5 star ratings compared to a tutor that has a 200 2 star ratings. Alao, I had some tech issues and sounds like no one cares. This really makes me sad when i see the good potentials in this app, but sounds like no one cares to see the big picture and think for long run. I absolutely LOVE TEACHING and tutoring and this is really sad that i had to leave varsity just because of the terrible management.

Can't log-in after downloading app. I already have an account, so if I try to sign-up as new account, I'm told "already exists w/that email". I KNOW. But when I use my account deets, it says "unauthorized". I am a new tutor and cannot get in to app.

I was able to find a tutor for each assignment needed. It was easy and effective, and the tutors were better than my professor.

I uaing this app on my ChromeBook, and I would appreciate the ability to switch to a different application without this app suspending my end of the sessions. This is a substantial cause for me dealing with the website version instead of the app on here.

If you don't have a good fit with your tutor, Varsity tutors makes it right immediately, I had an issue two times and they were very prompt in responding and rectifying the situation! Highly reccomended.

Excellent, except for the prices, and the rate hikes.

Links to my calendar funky to where it shows 3 of the same appointment. There's also a bug right now that doesn't allow to dismiss appointments declined by students, so they won't go away from the calendar

i am a tutor and this is my primary means of income. it would be great if the app did not freeze on virtually every menu window available. i can never respond to client messages. the app is limited in comparison to the website, but the website feels like it was written in 1995. there is a lot that can be done to improve both the UI and UX of VT. I feel compelled to say this. i want to see a better working and looking app

Since I applied to become a tutor for Varsity Tutors, I have have one of the best experiences with having students assigned to me, getting one-on-one live help with technical issues and almost immediate responses to my questions and anything needed to better prepare and assist my students. I am very pleased with the way their platform is designed. I look forward to being an independent contractor for many years to come.

The app allows people to find a tutor that gives immediate and recurring aid for any subject and extra-curricular imaginable. Be it AP Math, English Composition, playing piano, learning about makes video games and literally dozens of subjects with dozens more tutors who can fit your schedule and needs. Online learning or in-person (depends on the tutor), someone will match your desired requirements. Get the help you need when you need or want it.

Varsity Tutors is a great place to work! Perhaps the best opportunity I've ever encountered! I love the flexibility afforded to support students while, at the same time, garnishing a wage and being able to perfect ones skills.

My 11 year old was struggling in her classes. It was frustrating for myself as well for both myself and my child at home due to pandemic. It was difficult juggling work and trying to help my child with school. I found out about Varsity through my employer and it was the best choice I made. They offer tutoring instantly whenever my child needed it. You can customize the sessions. The 1 on 1 tutoring is the best. My child no longer struggles and confidence and grade has improved drastically.

This App needs work. When writing invoices it often is difficult to scroll back up, or it will kick you back to the start and you have to re-enter all the session notes. In order to respond to an opportunity request, you have to pound on the response button several times in order for it to register. Scheduling is problematic because the options don't allow for revisions of the length of a session, if for whatever reason the session was as shorter than the original time frame the parents decided

After "edit" of schedule and save, wrong times were saved. Please fix. Would like ability to set default start screen between Schedule and Opportunities.

Super easy to work with and my daughter LOVES her math tutor Ashley. We will be using Varsity Tutors in the future when needed!

It's been very helpful and dynamic the process with Varsity. It's interesting how many people from all over the world can get connected with you.

Stick with Wyzant or some other alternative.. Glitchy app, company tutors are non responsive to msgs....call and tell them(the company) and they'll give you the run around.They treat the consumer second and push you hard to go with their online alternative if you have a preference for in-person.Overpriced when looking at quality-to-price. Overall bad experience with the process of attempting to hook up appointments with their tutors. I've had much better experience with other places.Don't do it.

I find your app very easy to use, intuitive an very informative. My only issue is that when I rate the session/tutor, I think there should be a save option right there. I only discovered the save ability when I clicked to exit the app, then the pop up message Save and Exit displays.
