New interface is good, but was hoping for more options (ie all the options seen in the web browser) Also after the update, manual fan control appears to be broken. Update 4/23/19 - manual fan control is still flaky with my T4x series stats...I can not rely on the fan status symbol animation, if I am unsure if the fan is running manually or not, I turn the system to off to ensure the fan is off. I have not found a clean way to manually running the fan from the app, it is not reliable.

they took an app that was working OK, and destroyed it. none of the capability work on my phone app anymore. why would you do this? ...idiots! ...... revised comment... app was reloaded remotely, and now has most of the capabilities as the previous version. I hope they add in the previous functions and a few others. - three and a half stars. - getting better. the runtimes are still incorrect hopefully they will fix this problem. most of the other issues have been resolved.

4 stars because up until the site's security update, it consistently worked and did everything I wanted. The update broke things and left me in the infinite sign-on loop previously reported. Uinstalling and downloading the latest app didn't actually update anything. Even restarting the phone after reinstalling didn't help, but what did fix the problem was to uninstall the old app, then restart the phone first before reinstalling. The app properly updated and everything works fine now.

I can't turn on my air-conditioning from my app after the update. Please fix. Been enjoying the app for years before that though

Our thermostat will not connect or stay connected to the internet. Was sent an email that i needed to download a patch update to a drive and manually load it to the thermostat, but there is nowhere to attach any devices to the thermostat. Likes it for the first year of being able to change the temp remotely, but now it is like a normal thermostat with no remote control access

All of a sudden I knowlonger can access app, last update April. when trying to access I am now getting "venstar has stopped working - close app". Also when they forced the new app on us functionality was lost i.e. can no longer see the wired remote senor and becasue of the locatiion if the home/away buttons I keep unknowing adjusting the thermostat when closing app. Old interface although was 100% better. sumsung galaxy 7 edge. update - uninstalled and reinstalled which seems to have fixed it.

They say they finally added the ability to ok edit and view the schedule! Woohoo! I'll come to give them five stars if it works. Meanwhile, I'm dropping them from four to three because I'm blocked from using it until I upgrade, but when I attempt to upgrade, it tells me I already have the latest version. I'll uninstall and see if that changes anything, but if not. I'll have to wait for them to fix it... While the app sits useless.

Worked great for quite a while after original struggles. Having to log in occasionally. Their changing passwords thing has resulted in not working remotely now for many months.. i try now and then. Talked to some guy on phone some months ago... no help. They have taken a good system and ruined it. FOOLS.

I used to love being able to control the temps from my phone, but with the newest update I have to log in every time I open the app. Please fix this regression in functionality soon. It totally defeats the convenience I used to enjoy before the update. Now I just use the Alexa app. You are quickly going to lose your audience with bad choices like this.

absolute garbage app... just like everyone is saying... you get randomly logged out CONSTANTLY. then you can't log back in... it tells your to sign in but when you do, you're sent back to the original login page.... over and over. a frustrating loop. not sure if I have to create a new account or what because there's no message or information. clean up your trash, devs!

App actually used to work great BUT if you ever accidentally get offline good luck getting back on line. It's a frustrating experience. Maybe it's just me, I follow instructions, but seems to take me in circles . Why would you take a perfectly fine app, that worked just like it was supposed to and make it useless. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. RENDERED USELESS BY A DEFECTIVE REDONE APP.; that was supposed to fix what wasn't broken ??? Yes I'm MAD. You will be also,I promise you. Should have gave Zro

Overall it works well with my thermostat. One feature I would really like to see the ability to schedule the fan, including being able to shut it off completely.

I've had this app for a few years now and it's always been good, but now whenever I go to turn my heater up, one press of the up button sends the set point temperature to 0. then it won't do anything. It just stays at 0. Completely worthless.

Their email instructions could have been better, but uninstalling the app, restarting phone, reinstalling app worked just fine. All seems to work and includes capability to adjust schedules on the app (haven't had to try that yet).

Very simple to change temperature, but have to login again almost every week and no option to change the schedule from the app. You need to login into a computer to do that with an even worse interface.

Doesn't take command for schedule. Requires a difficult password and doesn't allow it to be saved to the phone. Come on guys, it is a thermostat in my house. I hardly thing it is sensitive content. It is easier to log onto my bank.

The app is surely better than nothing.....But you can not control all the settings for the thermostat with the app, it is very limited. For some lame-ass reason they have a website you have to make an account for, and on the website you can control all the settings for the stat.

Run time info has missing days some weeks. Sensor data is not available about half the time. Trying to get to sensor data a second time works most of the time. Error is "internal server error". T7900 with latest 6.91 firmware. Wifi is strong and stable.

I cannot rarely ever control my thermostat from my phone because it always says 'thermostat offline.' I have to manually/physically change the temp just like a standard thermostat. What's the point of having this then? I got this so that I can control it when I'm not home or when I'm in bed, etc. I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times. This piece of junk never works!! I will be getting a new thermostat and throwing this one in the trash.

Works as expected. However, I have to log in with a password on almost every use. The old version would keep my password for quick access. I may replace the thermostat and dump this app to get quicker access.

it used to work great.. then an update and now I can't use the app. it just says my thermostat is offline. so frustrating! I depend on this app so much... and now I'm thinking of getting a new different wireless thermostat. I'm fed up with this! 2020 update: Was working again for months after this post. Just the other day 11/25/20 it stopped. Frustrated again. I just now deleted the app to reinstall...I noticed other reviews complaining on the same day the app went out!!

I'm normally too lazy to rate an app and admittedly did not expect much after seeing the ratings, but I've been really happy with this app! It certainly deserves a better rating than it has! The app is very easy to use and does everything you could want, at least in my opinion. I also had another unrelated question and Venstar even responded to me over the weekend! I just bought two more stats I like them so much! The local API is great too, I'm using it with Home Assistant.

I have to sign in on my android almost every time I open the app. It will not save my credentials. And now it's locked me out because of a security update for the second time. Apps should be for convenience of use. This one is very inconvenient.

I have to log in to the app every single time with my password. Not sure why they think you shouldn't be able to save the password on app, but it is super frustrating. Ridiculous! Come on Venstar, figure it out already.
