Vent - Express yourself freely

So, this Reflectly catastrophy has really alienated the userbase. Emotion sets were available for individual purchase for years. Now, you have to subscribe to get any new sets at all. Sure, this might only be a minor inconvenience overall, but the fact that we received a blink-and-you-miss-it notice 2 days in advance at best before all purchases of individual sets were locked is really disappointing and one of the worst customer service experiences I've had on an app in a long time.

For some reason, text prediction doesn't show up during messages. It doesn't feel as up-to-date because of things such as no text prediction and also you can't send images. That's all tolerable, but the biggest problem for me is not being able to make the same post in multiple communities-- so me and quite a few other people need to repost the same thing 3 times just to reach everyone we wanted to. It's overall a pretty good app, just wish there were those minor fixes.

I love this app, I love the community, but the technical issues are getting way out of hand. The app is generally laggy, feeds frequently stop updating properly, posts and comments will double and triple post, and listener counts will display incorrectly, among other things. I truly care about the app and want to see it improve. But it is disheartening when I see the last time it was updated was over a year ago. There aren't many apps like Vent out there, and I don't want to see it fail.

It's a cool app, and I've liked it so far. There are few issues that I feel should get resolved. Like the notifications get all bunched together, so it's difficult to view just new notifications. It's hard to find new groups other than the previewed ones unless you know the name of it (a group category option where you can scroll through the groups would be nice). Overall, the app is fun and so far the community in the app is nice

I actually really like this app! It's easy to use & allows other people to interact w/ you & for you to interact w/ others. If you don't want everyone to see something, you can set it to mutual followers only or private (which goes to "my diary" so no-one else can see it). Super easy way to get advice too ^-^

I love the app, don't get me wrong. But no longer being able to buy individual emotion sets has made me less happy with the app. Its was something I'd do on occasion, buy one I liked or have wanted for a while. I didn't mind at all, but now it's all subscription based and really makes me feel like there's a small level of classism taking place in an app that was supposed to support everyone.

I've had the app for less than a day but it's good, I like it a lot. I just wish the options you get to put as your mood could be multiple, and that they didn't have colours associated with them / you could change the colours. many people seem to want to keep a theme with their account, me as well, so letting people choose their own colour scheme would be nice.

The many, many emotions are very fun and interesting to use. The culture of the userbase takes some getting used to, especially the pressure to stay active. There seem to be a lot more updates than are necessary, which is a downside for me- I don't use auto update, which means that like every time i try to open the app, I can't access it without going to the play store and updating. It isn't a huge deal, just a bit inconvenient for when emotions are running high.

i absolutely love vent! i have been with this app since early 2015 and i must say it has improved tremendously! and moved a long way from where it was when i first discovered this app. i experience slight bug problems as far as being able to refresh the pages, but alas that is a small bug that doesnt stop me from using the app! thank you vent team!! my problems with refreshing are that when i try to refresh the feed or messages, it states error 504 or something along those lines

I love this app. there's a great community with amazing people. Everyone seems to be very kind and supportive. My only complaint is the messaging system. From not ever getting chat notifications despite always having them on through multiple devices and the lack of ability to send and recieve media, i always find myself asking people to talk somewhere else. It could definitely use some work and i feel like it hasn't got much attention at all since launch

I've been using this app since 2015 and I'm disappointed with how the app has fallen from grace. The performance of the app has gone down considerably, it crashes every two days and is a glitchy mess (notifs haven't worked since 2018, it deletes posts at random, it randomly makes you unlisten to people). They also automatically delete/suspend you if one person makes enough reports on you at once and this system is often exploited to harrass people off the platform. Cool concept, bad execution.

I love the app a lot. there are tons of great people to make friends with that i trust a lot. there is one thing that annoys me though. when i get a message from a friend i dont get a notification. i tried fixing it on the setting but it doesnt work. other people also struggle with this so i hope this can be fixed

Decent app but for months it has become unusable. I cannot post anything without at least 4 attempts due to internal server errors. It is extremely frustrating. I thought a change in ownership of the app would bring good things but if anything the app has gotten worse. Unfortunate.

Vent is pretty much the one app I use to connect to people with similar interests. It's been great. But sometimes it can feel lacking especially when bugs stay on for longer than expected. Right now I'm not able to refresh my feed, despite there being news posts in the groups I've joined. Vent team, you guys are great but could just be a lil better. ❤ Thanks for making it safe for us all.

Vent has its pros and cons. Some pros are that it is very useful for getting thoughts out of you instead of letting them build. Plus the support can be great. Some cons are that some Vents could trigger you, and while most people are supportive since they're going through similar things, some are not and you can't catch & block them until after they've interacted with you.

i still maintain the fact that this app would seriously benefit from steering away from being as subscription-based and allowing users to purchase individual emotion sets. the only reason why i have the sets that i currently do is because i bought them before vent developers made the change to be subscription-only instead of subscription-optional. after this change was made a bunch of people left, myself included, and coming back a few years later i've noticed that it's not the same.

I've used this app for the past three years and had no trouble with it until the last week of March. There was an server error that lasted a day and once it went away, the app was unstable and glitched. My followers are glitched (saying I only have one), my posts aren't showing up on others feeds (I've tested this with mutuals) and I can't interact with anyone without it staying. I've logged off for now but want to say I'm severely disappointed with the app right now.

It's great. I've got plenty of emotions to choose from, they give us those limited emotion sets with emojis (and you can buy them if youd like to keep them), the way the app works is pretty easy to grasp and they allow us to use things likes italics and colored text in our vents!! The only thing is, whenever I try to unlock myself an emotion set with KIN, it won't actually unlock the set. But it will still take my KIN.

I used to really enjoy this app, but it won't let me search anything. It gives me a internal service error every time. Making new accounts hasn't helped- I even got a new phone. Nothing I tried to report it, but it wasn't able to go through. It said I wasn't authorized. My internet is totally fine. Kind of bummed this is happening, this app was one of my favorites. I've been having this issue for over a year.

Honestly this app really helps me work through my emotions sometimes. Allows me to get them out somewhere so theyre not festering in my brain. And theres no feeling of being annoying with my feelings because almost everyones posts are emotional. Its just a nice community as well. How the app runs, its okay. I wish it was easier to access the italic and bold for typing. I definitely think the app could improve a lot with looks and functions. I hope to see it improve.

This app is turning around again, I decided to come back and see if it will work and it's now coming too. I've noticed that they're under new ownership. Hoping that things will improve steadily. One bug I've noticed is that I have an inaccurate listener count when users delete their accounts and the app is horrendously slow at times.

Took a little break from the app only to come back and find that my account was deleted. The notice email for deletion, due to inactivity, must've originally gone in spam or something. I didn't see it until I searched "vent" in my email search box. What's the point of deleting my profile just because I was inactive? Just because I took a break, doesn't mean I'm not coming back. Now I'm sad I lost everything.
